The entire nation is boiling with the recent Delhi gang rape where a 23 year old para-medical girl was raped by a group of six in a running bus and later thrown out of the bus along with her boyfriend. Our Bollywood celebrities took to twitter to vent their anger. Vivek Mishra, a familiar name of LGBT community condemns the Delhi rape case calling it “Brutal and Horrifying”

Vivek Mishra urged to investigate what is wrong with our society and why time and again such brutal incident is taking place in our country. He posted on his Facebook : The gang rape in Delhi and its details are unavoidable and a serious matter which should not be delayed… punish the culprits, with the most severe punishment ever… But also let us introspect! What is going wrong with our society, our people.

“We are the only people who worship women in the face of Durga, Kaali, Laxmi, Kaali… then why can’t we command same respect to the womens around us???” he further added.

Let every Indian become a vigilant, a soldier, a commander that shall fight such heinous crimes with strength and conviction!!
In a separate post he wrote: The horrific rape case in New Delhi is beyond any kind of vocabulary to describe its occurrence!! It is an act of a demon, a monster that deserves the harshest punishment; a punishment that should set an example for any such perpetrator in the future.
Injustice of rape shall invite many discussions. Advocate harshness of punishment, human rights move in. Follow law… Legal loopholes. But I say we THE GREAT FULL INDIANS should do something about this…we can’t sit at home and watch the television showing such rape cases everyday….

The system had to improve and also we have to take a strong action against this face of our society.

The fear of system, of order, of conduct guided by justice, is fast disappearing.

Is this the freedom that our elders fought for!!

VARUN DOES A JIG AT SHIAMAK’S SHOW!

Varun Dhawan was the perfect student at his guru, Shiamak Davar’s show as he cheered on and danced through the entire time. The show performed by Shiamak’s training students was a journey of world dance. Varun who was a part of the same batch, felt at home on his favorite place, the stage.

Performing in front of a packed audience, the show was breathtaking with lifts, turns and a display of impeccable technique. From acapella to jazz, broadway to contemporary; the show was a treat to the eyes. The highlights of the show were Shiamak Style (indo contemporary and modern) and an old Bollywood medley of songs from the 1950s to the 1990s. Shiamak’s Junior Dance Company was testimony to the fact that if technique is instilled from a young age, kids develop into fine performing artists!

‘This show is a great opportunity for parents to see the progress, and understand what good training can do. Whether it is Shahid or Varun, this stage has created many stars, and for me everyone who took to the stage today is a star! Varun is really a teacher’s dream, such a fine person and so talented. It was great to have him at the show’, said Shiamak. Varun took to the stage as soon as ‘Radha’ from his movie was played, his impromptu moves had the audiences on their feet!

Also, taking to the stage with a surprise jig was Shiamak’s protégé and celebrity judge of dance India Dance, Marzi Pestonji. ‘This show is extremely close to me, I have closely worked with Shiamak for this production from its inception, and as an annual display of talent, I wait for this every year!’

Kainaaz Motiwala and Smily Suri were present reliving their dancing days. Pam Chopra came to support Shiamak, both extremely close to each other from time when Yash Chopra introduced Shiamak to Bollywood. Shahid’s mother was there to cheer on her younger son, Ishaan who is walking on the footsteps of his superstar brother.

‘Shiamak is still so fit and young and this is what dance does to you! It was such a pleasure to be here watching the show with my teacher, it was such a treat!’ said Varun.

Mobile Advertising trends that will rule 2013

As consumers rapidly adopt the mobile, here are the Top 5 trends that will drive Mobile Advertising and take centre stage in 2013:

1. Smartphone Advertising will evolve to Smart Advertising

Advertisers today are adapting their campaigns to the capabilities of smartphones. Also, many of them are only leveraging 1 or 2 smartphone platforms versus the broader mobile ecosystem. However, as the medium continues to grow rapidly in 2013 and demonstrates its potential as the most powerful Mass Media, advertisers with a smartphone-only strategy will miss out on a large chunk of consumers present on other mobile platforms. Mobile Internet enabled feature phones still dominate emerging markets (80% penetration) – even developed markets such as USA have 45% penetration. Advertisers will have to invest time evaluating the mobile habits and behaviour patterns of users to create smart campaigns that will connect with consumers, irrespective of the mobile platform they use.

2. Developers will blend In-App purchases with Ad based revenues in parallel

Developers using the classic in-app purchase model to monetize are seeing only 5-10% of their app users convert into paid transactions. With an increasing number of app users coming from emerging markets, this conversion rate will further reduce. So although emerging markets have a high mobile penetration, the GDP per capita is much lower & credit card penetration is only in single digits! 3. TelCos will try to get back into the Mobile Advertising space

However, as consumers data usage shifted from TelCo owned ‘on-deck’ wap portals to the broader mobile internet sites and apps, it looked like they missed the Mobile Advertising bus. Leading TelCos have already made their moves by getting significant stakes in Mobile Advertising companies. Others such as Airtel have started their own foray with m-Advertising platforms. 4. Windows Phone 8 will not curb Android’s “mass market” smartphone momentum

Windows Phone 8 launched in Oct’12 amidst a lot of fanfare. However, given its high minimum hardware specification requirements, the devices that use it are likely to be only mid or high end in terms of pricing. Android devices have been around for over 4 years, giving it a considerable head-start and penetration with OEMs. Everyday over 1.3 million Android devices are being activated, with majority of them being priced for the “mass market”, and in 2013 Android will cross an installed base of 1 Billion users. On the other hand, 2013 will also be the first year of Windows Phone 8 platform and its focus will be to first make inroads in the high end segment, which itself is a herculean task given the headstart iOS & Android have. Windows Phone 8 may over time bring down device prices by working with partners, but it is unlikely to happen in 2013.

5. Consumer’s mobile lifestyle will allow Brands to converge advertising, distribution & transactions!

The Mobile is fundamentally altering consumer lifestyle today – it is changing how we live, work & play! Over the past few years brands have tried to integrate the mobile as part of their overall media mix. In 2013, brands will have the opportunity to take it to the next level – leveraging the Mobile for all the 4Ps of Marketing! Marketers are now realising that mobile is ‘place-shifting’ purchases – i.e. purchase decisions are not taking place at a physical store but in the hands of the mobile consumer. The top priority for Technology providers and practitioners will be to drive business transformation using technology solutions.

Given that the business environment is expected to remain volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous businesses will be under pressure to reinvent the way they work, the compute and the core business processes. The top most priority for IT will be to help businesses transform work and compute. IT service providers and practitioners will be expected to drive business transformation initiatives which help organisations optimize cost and increase productivity. IT will consider business transformation initiatives like: a) Workshifting: IT will drive programs like work from home or move work to a more optimized location and cut real estate cost and delight employees, b) Executive Mobility: IT will enable employees to work with people, apps and data from any device and any location thus increasing the productivity of employees.

The role of IT organization is changing

Today, there is a fundamental structural shift happening in the way we work. Compared to the old PC era wherein companies locked down computers allowing employees to only use monolithic products through a wired network in an office environment, today’s workers are driving change because of the empowerment they’re getting from powerful consumer devices and self-service cloud applications. So in effect, the set of assumption for IT has now been turned on its head and IT must get into service delivery. The role of IT has now transformed to respond to and for the way people need to consume “it” – the services, apps, data and information. In order to solve this problem, the only thing that will work is a holistic solution with many piece parts working together well, seamlessly to solve the problem. You can’t just solve a single-sign-on problem or a mobile device problem as an island. These narrowly defined problems are now being stacked on top of each other and are much more interrelated and need to be solved inter-relatedly. The other way in which the role of an IT organization has changed is that they need to think of themselves as “internal service providers” – and having to “compete” against commercially-available apps/products. The “IT-as-a-Service” trend extends to service-providers, who are able to provide Windows and Desktops more efficiently than the IT organization itself – and IT shops are compelled to source desktops from outside their walls. IT’s security/control/compliance models shift from the “locked-down” device, to the virtually-issued and controlled device.

Consumerization of IT is here but how we view Consumerization and mobility will continue to change.

The levels of complexity will get even deeper with a plethora of heterogeneous form factors, platforms and devices coming into the workplace. IT will not be prepared to support and/or secure these devices with one solution alone. The core challenge here is that about delivering and securing the app and the data, not the device. With this difficulty, it will become impossible for IT to find one solution or set of solutions to secure these devices. To add to this, the heterogeneity is not just about the device, it will extend to the worker, the app, the location as well. What was once the standard office-based worker has morphed into office-based, temporary, remote, flex-time and mobile workers. What used to be primarily Windows apps has now become Windows, mobile, web and SaaS apps and workers need secure access to all their apps regardless of where they are “located”. And location becomes heterogeneous. Apps may be delivered from the datacenter, from the web, or native on a mobile device and they will be delivered to many more locations than before.

Mobility is a lot more than just devices or apps.

The purview and definition of mobility will undergo a change as organizations will now need to consider how they will deliver all these apps to any user at any time regardless of the device. Mobility will not be just about user mobility but app mobility and moving apps around from datacenter to datacenter to cloud. An application may be delivered from two different locations to a user that could be anywhere. In the context of these newer realities, mobility won’t really be about the device that enables it but being able to do what we want, where we want and when we want.

BYOD hits mainstream and impacts first generation mobile device management solutions

The move by IT to allow BYOD by employees hits mainstream; the corporate-issued laptop begins to become a bygone piece of equipment. IT realizes that it’s able to control devices remotely through virtualization while simultaneously allowing individuals to use the devices that make them happiest and most productive. This is corroborated by the Citrix ‘Bring-Your-Own-Devices (BYOD) Index’, which surveyed 700 IT decision-makers and organizations around the globe. It was found that in India, a little over 40 percent companies already have a BYOD policy already in place. Apart from this, 95 percent of the polled respondents expect a BYOD policy to be institutionalized in their respective companies by 2013. With BYOD becoming mainstream, draconian mobile device management measures will cease to be effective and the contours of MDM will be redefined. Companies will not want a blanket kill pill but will need to adapt to the changing devices that are coming into the enterprise. In the form of a powerful feature of app delivery, a feature of management infrastructure; a feature of data protection solutions whether in the OS, app delivery or platform, mobile device management will become an enhancement to a much broader enterprise mobility strategy.

App explosion and the shift of application architectures

Existing apps must change to accommodate the Cloud. Existing enterprise apps have always been about the local interface but with anywhere, anytime access, enterprise apps will quickly need to be rebuilt to have cloud context and a cloud interface; not just web-enabled but deep cloud integration. Apps without cloud integrations won’t survive. The other facet to this is that enterprise apps are no longer the only standard. Micro apps and alternative apps (like Gmail, Google docs) are rising in the enterprises, replacing more traditional enterprise apps. Windows apps for viewers, notes apps are transforming into micro apps and cloud based services. Web-ifying and mobilizing of apps is the future. So apps are synced and can be used on any device. The enterprise level conundrum however would be granting access to any of these apps, regardless of how they were originally built and for what intended use.

From her humble beginnings in HanumantharayarKoil Street in Madurai, to her early lessons with her accomplished mother, the story talks about her devotion, even at a very young age, to music. Indian Teachers Visit Israel for lessons on the Holocaust

A delegation of 20 principals, heads of the department and faculties teaching humanities are visiting Israel to learn about the Holocaust in a special programme organised by the International School of Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum. 6 out of 9 million Jews living in Europe were brutally murdered by the Nazi regime of Germany during the Second World War. The programme is an initiative of the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi and the Consulates in Mumbai and Bangalore. In this two weeks programme, the participants will study about the horrors of the Holocaust, anti-Semitism and learning the lessons of this horrific event. Yad Vashem is Israel’s official memorial to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust, established in 1953 through the law passed by Israel’s parliament.

India is one of the very few countries in the world where Jewish people have been living for more than 2000 years with peace and harmony. Jews never suffered any incidents of anti-Semitism or discrimination in India. On the other hand, not much being is taught about the Holocaust and atrocities against Jews in Indian schools. Yad Vashem International School regularly conducts training programmes for teachers in the European countries. Taking into consideration India’s close relations with Israel and its status as the largest democracy in the world, we decided to organise this programme for the Indian teachers for the first time hoping to make it an annual event. Apart from classroom studies, the programme also include interaction with the Holocaust survivors, study tours and interaction with the Jewish community of Indian origin in Israel.

Acting crazy crew of film

2 Nights in soul valley

Film 2 nights in soul valley is releasing on 28th December. In this super natural film almost entire crew of the film has played a small yet significant role. The crew members of the film were crazy about acting and no member thought of leaving the opportunity that came their way to act in the film.

Film’s screenplay and dialogue writer, Meenakshi Sharma, has played the character of protagonist Harry’s mother. Production controller Umesh Singh is seen in the character of a Porter. Hair dresser is seen cooking in some scenes and plays the role of Porter’s sister. Costume coordinator Neha Verma is seen as the receptionist of the hotel, the choreographer of the film Iha Sharma is seen amongst the many customers of the hotel seen sitting at a table. Iha along with Assistant Director Sujat Shyamal is seen passing by in a scene. Producers of the film are seen as money lenders in the film. The restaurant scene also has Director Harish Sharma, Producers Pinta & Dehal, Resort Owner,Photographer Umesh Verma and actress Milli Moonstone’s Boyfriend. And in many of scenes the film’s spot boys are also spotted playing a few cameos.

To tell you the inside story, to act was one reason but the other reason that prompted these cameos was low budget. Director Harish Sharma when told this to his crew they happily stepped forward to fill in the requirements for the cameos.

Darshan Dixit who shot his calendar in Mumbai and Goa said, “I was pained to read about the rape and brutal assault on a 23-year-old medical student in Delhi in a transport bus. I was in Goa shooting my fashion-bikini calendar when the incident happened. On coming back to Mumbai, I decided to incorporate an anti-rape message in my calendar.”

Darshan Dixit’s hi-fashion and glamour bikini calender includes 12 bikini models who will be featured in 12 different themes including that of a sexy semi nude Santa Claus.
