This interesting and never-seen-before story is that of a Gujarati Vaishnav family set in present day Gujarat, in the quaint city of Baroda. All is well in the Vaishnav family.

What comes as a surprise then is: why is the Vaishnav family all set to get their Bahoo Rajni, remarried. The usual been-there-done-that answers have all been put to rest already. No! Rajni’s husband Krish is not suffering from any terminal disease, nor is he having an extra marital affair, and yes it was a love marriage. So then the question remains, Phir Kyun Ho Raha Byaah Hamari Bahoo Ka.

JK RACING ASIA SERIES SET TO TAKE GIANT STRIDES IN SECOND YEAR

~Heads to Europe for two rounds~

New Delhi, May 24, 2012: The second edition of JK Racing Asia Series is off to a flying start promising nail-biting action in the world’s best circuits. The Series consisting of 16 races will take giant strides in the new season with the premier championship going truly global in its second year, as it makes its maiden entry into Europe.

The Second Season of the JK Racing Asia Series (formerly known as Formula BMW Pacific) kicks-off this weekend at the Sepang International Circuit. The Series will be a part of the Malaysian Super Series event held from 25-27 May, 2012. All of the five circuits that the series visits in 2012 are Formula 1 circuits which are crucial to driver development in preparing them for higher levels of racing.

Not only JKRAS is currently the only ‘Junior’ Formula Racing Series in the world that provides a unique opportunity to the drivers to compete in front of the Formula One fraternity but it‘s unique also because no other series of the same league runs as a showcase event to some of the most spectacular and entertaining motorsport events in the world. In Malaysia it will run as a support race to Malaysian Super Series, at the Paul Ricard Circuit in France it will be staged alongside the world-famous Blancpain Endurance event, at Belgium’s Spa Francorchamps, it will be a support event to the high-octane Spa 24 Hours race. The series will then return to Asia and run as a support race to Formula One races in Singapore and India before finally culminating at the Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida where it will run alongside the World GT1 championship where the 2012 champions will be honored.

The Season is set to be a battle of championship winning teams with Eurointernational, the reigning Champions, having a head to head battle with Meritus.GP. Both teams are multiple Series Champions and have made their names in various regions. This year, both teams have placed their confidence on the past front runners to lead their teams, Nabil Jeffri for Eurointernational and Afiq Ikhwan for Meritus.GP.

Last Season, the JK Racing Asia Series Driver Championship was won by Austrian Lucas Auer under the tutelage of internationally renowned, Eurointernational. This year the team will proudly display the hard earned #1 on the car driven by last year’s second runner up, Jeffri. And he very well understands the pressure and the importance of carrying the #1 on his car for the team, his sponsors and for his country.

After missing the win in 2011 by just seven points, Ikhwan is aiming for the Driver’s Championship this year and the pressure is even bigger to help his team, the once unbeatable Meritus.GP, secure a Team Championship win, which would be their first since 2009. He had an impressive season last year claiming fifteen podium finishes out of the eighteen races.

Meritus.GP will also be sending in four drivers. Ikhwan will partner with last year’s youngest driver and three time podium finisher, Akash Nandy alongside two Rookie drivers, Australian Aidan Wright and Thai driver Toby Earle.

The JK Racing Asia Series is recognised by the World Governing Body for Motorsport, the Federation Intenationale De L’Automobile (FIA), as having special status that allows for young inexperienced drivers to participate on a National License. Friday, 25th May 2012: One of the most awaited spy thrillers, “Vishwaroop” directed and co-produced by Dr Kamal Haasan will showcase Excerpts from his film and its first look at the 13th Videocon IIFA Weekend in Singapore this June 2012. Men’s field expected to lower the course record on Sunday

“I am well prepared for this race and fear no one in the field,” said
Dennis Kimetto, the Kenyan who recently set the world record for the
25k and leads the men’s elite athlete field for the Tata Consultancy
Services World 10K Bangalore, to be run on May 27.

Kimetto, who began training at the age of 24 has, in a short span,
made a huge impact on the international running scene. He has only
raced outside Kenya on three occasions and has won in all three,
beating many world beating athletes.
According to Ian Ladbrooke, the consultant for the elite athletes
field, the men’s field assembled to run on Sunday was the strongest in
the five-year history of the event and he was hoping for a fast race
that would lower the existing course record of 27.51, in the name of
Eritrean Zersenay Tadese, set in 2008. Ladbrooke’s confidence stems
from Kimetto’s aggressive attitude, who says he is hoping to go below
27 minutes.

Along with Kimetto at the media interaction was another young and
exciting Kenyan, Geoffrey Kipsang, who has a personal best of 27.53
for the 10km outdoors, set in March 2012. Kipsang, who ran in the
Delhi Half Marathon in 2011 and finished a close second also said he
was confident of lowering the existing course record. “It all depends
on the field of athletes and this time around the field is definitely
very strong. My plan will be to run the race from the front fight from
the start and hope for the best,” said Kipsang, who has been the World
Junior cross country champion.
Besides, these two Kenyans, the men’s filed will include the likes of
Ethiopians Detiba Merga and Dino Sefir, Ugandan Moses Kipsiro, Kenyans
Leonard Langat and John Kyui ans Moroccan Abdellah Falil.

Also present were the two Kenyan women who are expected to make a mark

The international music fraternity has faced a saddening loss with Kuly of music band RDB, passing away on 22nd May 2012 in Houston, Texas, USA. The popular music group member sadly lost his battle with cancer at the young age of 35 years old.

Kuly was diagnosed with a brain tumour in April 2011 and underwent radio and chemotherapy. He was receiving treatment at a specialised clinic in Houston at the time of his death.

Kuly was an intrinsic part of RDB, a leading international music group, famed for their contribution to globalising Bhangra and Indian music. His legacy will remain with RDB and their super-hit tracks such as Aaja Mahi, Singh is Kinng, Aloo Chaat and Shera di Kaum.

RDB and the family have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time and thank their fans and well-wishers for their continued support and condolences.

The brand also revealed its TV campaign with newly appointed brand ambassador, Vidya Balan that celebrates her two different avatars and the dual promise of Aliva Multigrain Waves – Upar Se Tasty, Andar Se Healthy.

The new campaign presents Vidya in a double role for the first time including a sensuous character and a traditional one. The two looks not only reflect the different personas in one person but also highlight the fact that a tasty snack can also be made with ingredients like multi-grains. At the launch event, Vidya made a memorable appearance in a striking outfit that combined her two on-screen looks.

The new Aliva range, now endorsed by Lay’s, follows the successful introduction of parent brand Lay’s baked range of potato chips earlier this year. It further strengthens PepsiCo India’s snack portfolio in line with the emerging consumer health needs. Apart from the Multigrain Waves, Aliva has also launched Milk Minis and Crispy Thinz. All three baked products are available in two variants each – providing more variety, flavours and ingredient choices. The 30-second campaign for Aliva Multigrain Waves will go on air in early June and will be followed by other films for the rest of the range.

Sports makes you a better human being, says Christie

“Events like the Tata Consultancy Services World 10K Bangalore are the
perfect platforms to generate interest towards athletics and I would
encourage all Indians to ensure that their children play some kind of
sport,” said Linford Christie, the 1992 Olympics 100 m gold medalist
and the international event ambassador of the event at the Meet &
Greet session at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium, here, on Thursday.
“Every sport needs heroes to grow and develop and it won’t be long
before such events help inspire a new generation of athletes which
will throw up a new hero,” said Christie.

After arriving at the stadium in a BMW motorcade in the company of the
elite athletes and Bollywood actor and sportsman Rahul Bose, Christie,
on his second visit to the country, said he was impressed with the
manner in which the running movement has caught up in the country. He
made particular mention of Ram Singh Yadav, the marathoner who has
qualified for the London Olympics after a gap of 32 years, and
achieved the qualifying mark at the Mumbai Marathon.

“Sport is fun, sport is healthy and sport makes you a better human
being,” said Christie as he watched the scores of young athletes being
put through their paces at the Kantterava Stadium.

The Jamaican born Christie gave the example of his small country of
birth that has thrown up so many world beaters. “Jamaica is a very
tiny country as compared to India and there is huge potential here. It
only needs to be identified and nurtured, said Christie.

On his own athletic career, Christie said the victory at the World
Championships was his most cherished moment of success, because it had
come after a great deal of effort. “It was a tough time for me to
continue with my high intensity training after winning the Olympic
gold, but I am glad I persisted and gained success. That was the most
satisfying part of my career.

The inevitable question about Usain Bolt was met with a straight-faced
answer, “he’s fast.” He predicted that the 100mfinal would be a
Jamaican affair, because Tyson Gay had not given indications of the
form he currently is in. On the new foul start rule, which saw Bolt
disqualified from the World Championships, Christie said he felt it
was detrimental to sprinters. “It takes away the explosive starts that
are such an important part of sprints. Now the athletes are just
waiting back for the starter’s pistol to go before they launch from
the blocks. I am against it,” said Christie.

Mumbai, 24th May, 2012: Often actors are needed to learn an art or the likes to complement their character onscreen and the actor who ever has worked under Vinod Chopra Films banner, cannot resist his dedication to wards excellence, same has rubbed off on Sharman Joshi. To be a perfectionist and play their character with 100% conviction, stars take special lessons to perfect the art. Similarly, Sharman Joshi, who portrays the role of single parent to his to his 10-year old child in his upcoming film Ferrari Ki Sawaari, had to learn to make and toss egg-omelette.

According to the grapevine, for a scene in the film, he had to execute each domestic work for his home which also included cooking breakfast for the family. The shoot demanded him to make an egg-omelette and flip it over multiple times, a la Cordon Bleu chef while cooking it. The pampered person what Sharman has been in his childhood, he didn’t even know how to break an egg for starters! To give his hundred percent to the shoot, he made it point to practice cooking egg-omelette at least twice a day. He practiced for a good five days and learnt the art of breaking eggs evenly, cooking them and also flipping the omelette.

He was amazingly perfect and completed the shoot in one take. This became a fond memory for the cast and crew of Ferrari Ki Sawaari, but Sharman had to still give the retakes – not for the film, but to cook for the crew, who deliciously enjoyed his treat.
