A start of the second innings with Second Marriage Dot Com

A marriage is a huge celebration in India and a second marriage is regarded as much a taboo! But the times are changing and the thoughts are developing. Based on one such concept is the film “Second Marriage dot com”

Producer Vinod Mehta of Vin Mehta Films says, “When a young, dynamic director like Gaurav approached me and narrated the story I promptly said yes because the concept of Second Marriage dot com is unique. And it suggests that second marriages are not a problem but a solution to all our problems that loneliness brings. This film does not have big stars but I believe that a film is appreciated not by stars but by the concept it voices!”

The story begins when Akshay ,a young IT Professional of Delhi embarks on a journey to find his widower father, Suneel Narang, a perfect match and put an end to his loneliness. The story progresses as the apt match is found in a divorcee mother Shoma via a matrimony site “Second”. The efforts put in by Akshay, Suneel’s son and Poonam, Shoma’s daughter to bring their parents close are paid off as the two tie a knot. It does look like dawn of happiness when a spine-chilling twist is added to the story. Poonam and Akshay speak their soul out to each other and gradually fall for each other.

The story is based on much researched facts; it challenges the society norms and brings out the best of drama, comedy, romance, guilt and all human emotions. Talking about the film the documentary filmmaker Gaurav Panjwani, who makes a debut in the mainstream cinema with this film, says, “India has always been progressive in nature but talking about the second marriage especially in metro cities was considered to be a taboo. However, over the years even that has changed. To get to the reality I met many middle-aged divorcees and widowers and found an urge in them to find themselves a soul mate. This urge was also prominent in women folks I met. Adding to such a feeling was a support lent by the children of these loners. This really moved me and I was sure to make a movie on it!

The movie is produced by Vin Mehta Films and is directed by a debutant Gaurav Panjwani. The film stars Mohit Chauhan , Vishal Nayak , Sayani Gupta , Charu Rohtagi , Manjeet Tiger and Nikita More in the lead roles.

We have seen the spider- man jumping off buildings and fighting ruffians to save mankind. But the comic book hero who returns with the reboot film in the series “The Amazing Spider-man” will be seen broadcasting a very sensitive message without jumping off the buildings.

The hero of the film Andrew Garfield is the ambassador for an NGO which helps patients fight cancer and provides them with help and support. The NGO has also released “The Amazing Spider-man” t-shirts which asks people to stand up for cancer. Talking about which Andrew says, “These shirts underscore the idea that anyone has the power to be a hero. Cancer is one of our greatest villains. I’m proud to join others in standing up to this disease.”

Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone(starring opposite Andrew in The Amazing Spider-man) each have this t-shirt. Laura Ziskin the founder of this NGO and Producer of Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3, who was also working on The Amazing Spider-man, lost her life while fighting this disease and so the fight against cancer became one of the reasons of The Amazing Spider-man team joining hands for the cause.

Actor OM PURI sings “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” for Film


After enacting lots of character in various bollywood films actor Om Puri turns melodious i.e. singer for first time for feature film “Raambhajjan Zindabaad” where he rendered song “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” (the original one not ….) which was supposed to get record in last year October, but due to his busy schedule Om Puri completed the song on 5th June 2012, as the track were recorded earlier in 2011.

Om said that basically he is not a singer as during his NSD time he and actor Naseeruddin Shah got only 17 marks out of 50 for their singing ability, but music director Vipin Patwa and director Ranjeet Guptaa wanted him to sing some particular phrases of the song, so he attempted, about film Om Puri said film “Raambhajjan Zindabaad” is a comic political satire which will go on floor in August and will be released by this year end.

Film is being made under the banner of Atlantic Adventure Ltd and recording took place at Ashok Honda Studio, Yari Road, Versova under the baton of music director Vipin Patwa. Film is produced by Khalid Kidwai & Chetan Parikh with Direction by Ranjeet Guptaa, written & lyrics by Vishal Vijay Kumar, cinematography by Chandan Kowli, editor Dilip Deo, and film is co-produced by Madhav Chitale.

Millions of fans are continuing to pay their tributes to musician and producer Kuly from RDB, who passed away on the 22nd of May 2012.

The talented song writer, composer and producer will be missed by millions of fans from around the world after he sadly lost his battle with cancer. Kuly and his two brothers, Surj and Manj, who together form trio RDB, are responsible for some of Bollywood’s biggest hit movie tracks, including: Aaja Mahi, Singh is Kinng, Aloo Chaat and Shera di Kaum.

Fans from the UK, India, Pakistan, America and Canada have tweeted messages of condolence to Kuly’s family, and scores have left messages of support on the official RDB Facebook page. Fans have been sharing fond memories of Kuly and RDB, and reliving musical highlights. Many have cited how RDB’s music has been a defining point in their lives, shaping their musical tastes and younger days.

BBC World News Horizons explores advances in eco-living in China and India

Mumbai, June 5th, 2012: In the tenth episode of the Horizons series, presenters Adam Shaw and Saima Mohsin visit Bangalore, India and Tianjin, China to see whether the need for urban expansion can be balanced with reducing the impact on natural resources and the environment.

In the next 20 years there are expected to be nearly two billion new city dwellers, with most of this growth taking place in the developing world.

In North East China, Adam Shaw travels to Tianjin Eco-City to visit what has been described as the world’s largest Eco-City development. A joint venture between the governments of China and Singapore but in partnership with private sector developers; the project covers 30 square kilometres of previously abandoned land and by 2020 is anticipated to become home to 350,000 people.

Adam meets Ho Tong Yen, Chief Executive of the Sino-Singapore Eco-city Investment & Development Company to find out aboutthe challenges involved in being commercially viable as well as green.

Ho Tong Yen said: “What we’re trying to do is to make sure what we do here can be done elsewhere. So we are aiming for 20% renewable energy, and we ensure the homes we build here are much greener than our usual business but not to the extent that cost rises beyond what the market can support.”

Later, Adam meets Richard Register, one of the world’s leading theorists in ecological urban planning and the man credited with coining the term ‘Eco-City.’ Adam and Richard discuss the problems of defining what the term ‘eco-city’ means and the importance of changing the way we look at urban development.

Saima Mohsin travels to Bangalore to visit two eco-friendly housing developments, which aim to be almost entirely independent from the civic infrastructure for water and electricity, using mainly renewable energy sources. At Zed Earth she talks to some of the residents to see how low carbon living is reducing their energy bills.

Saima also meets economist turned eco-entrepreneur Chandrashekar Hariharan, to discuss the issues facing India as the demand for new buildings grows.

Chandrashekar Hariharan, Chairman, BCIL – Biodiversity Conservation India Ltd said: “The building industry as well as the customer needs to see that every certified building will result in a 30% reduction in the use of energy post occupancy, around 20% in the course of construction of that building, a 50% reduction in the demand for fresh water in such a building. To me this is a sort of microcosm of the sort of cities that will happen in the next 15 years. That will have to happen. This is an imperative, these are not alternatives. You need to get at least 3% of the building industry to be doing what we’re doing then in 30 or maybe 40 years we will all get sustainable.”

Hul’s Surf Excel Presents Largest Kids Flash Mob

It’s never too late to thank your Mom…Brilliant initiative

In the hustling & bustling afternoon at the food court of Oberoi Mall, Goregaon (E), suddenly all the kids climb up their respective chairs & sing out loud the song ‘Meri Maa’ from the movie Taare Zameen Par to their mothers present there. The crowd before could understand what was really happening, were teary eyed already seeing the kids singing & swaying while their mothers did not know how to react. Mothers were surprised, could not help hugging their kids. They too joined in & started to dance with their respective kid.

This is indeed a brilliant initiative taken by Surf Excel, a one of a kind flash mob consisting of 50 kids, all below 14 years of age who managed to surprise their mothers. These kids were trained by Surf Excel team and Choreographed by the Mumbai Film Academy. Singing & dance auditions were conducted in leading schools & the shortlisted kids were trained for this largest flash mob in just 1 day.

The Surf Excel team & the talented kids pulled off this flash mob very effectively. Everyone stopped by to watch these kids perform; it was a very emotional moment. People were spot calling up their mothers just to tell them how much they love them.

The flash mob ended with the kids presenting a ‘Thank You Mom’ cup.

A 6ft card was placed were everyone wrote messages for their mothers.

Just like every child is special, Surf excel has put forth the message that, every mother is special indeed

It was indeed a celebration of the most beautiful bond; the bond between mother and her child.

Needless to say, a commendable initiative by Surf Excel.



HUL’s Surf Excel brings the first ever Kids Flash mob breaking all records to take place at Oberoi Mall, Goregaon. This record breaking flash mob shall showcase a good large no. of over 50 kids less than 14 years of age, who shall sing ‘Meri Maa’ from the movie ‘Taare Zameen Pe’ & portray their feelings with emotional gestures approaching their mothers who are unaware of this entire episode.

Such a Flash mob which usually takes place on the event of mother’s day, is taking place now implying that it’s never too late to tell A THANK YOU TO YOUR MOM…

These 50 little ones are trained by the SURF EXCEL team carefully over the past few days with utmost patience so they would pull off this one of a kind, record breaking flash mob effectively. It will be an exciting and an emotional sight when the mothers will see the innocent kids doing something so unexpected out of them amidst so many people. At the end all the kids will gather & give one big ‘Thank You Mom cup” and shout out, ‘Thank You Mom, I Love You”.

It will be an emotional moment when the mothers shall convey how surprised they have been. The kids as excited as ever shall talk about how did plan to hide it from their mothers & manage to bring them to the event venue.

There will be a 6 ft card, where everyone can write a message for their dear mothers.

What can be a more pleasant sight where you see 50 angels singing for their mothers, its celebration of the most beautiful bond. The bond of a Child & her mother.

As rightly said …..It’s never too late to tell someone how much you love them…. & when it’s your mother….you ought to tell her how much you love her..
