Bipasha goes Bold for Raaz 3

Leave it to Bollywood diva Bipasha Basu to dare to go where very few have –While her recent risqué Raaz 3 poster seems to have raised several eyebrows, the actress who shot for the bold campaign minus a body double unapologetically decided to go all out for the poster that has caught everyone’s attention.

Insiders reveal that despite having a bold subject, the producers had their reservations about approaching Bipasha for the shoot given its controversial nature and has considered using a body double and later morphing the actress’ face onto the model’s body .However, Bipasha insisted on shooting for it herself ,impressing the entire unit with her professionalism.

Confirms Bipasha Basu “When I learnt about the concept, I decided to do it. I had no qualms. It’s my movie and I should be shooting for the poster. I understand that it was required to show the film’s theme in the right light. I have always been comfortable in my skin and never been conscious of my body. It was the right decision.”

Beckinsale practices Yoga to stay fit

Hollywood Hottie Kate Beckinsale who will be starring as one of the leading ladies in the reboot film of Sony Pictures “Total Recall” reveals the secret of her curvy toned body.

To earn a physique like a goddess many starlets go starving or hit gym and work out rigorously, shedding and sweating to keep in shape. Opposed to which, Beckinsale believes in eating right and staying healthy with timely supply of nutritious food and fruits for our body.

Beckinsale shuns the idea of working out at gym for long hours and advocates practicing Yoga. Yoga is the best way to achieve a good as well as healthy physique, she feels. “Yoga also gives you a good reason to relax at the end of the session by just lying down for couple of minutes,” she says.

Beckinsale fans who await the dawn of 3rd August for the movie to release they would surely have got tips from Kate to pass the time.

Hare exacted revenge with win in Round 8 at Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps ~

New Delhi, July 28, 2012: JK Tyre prodigy Aditya Patel finished in ninth place in Round 8 of the JK Racing Asia Series at the prestigious Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps.

Patel said the best battle he had was with Ernie Van der Walt of Meritus.GP and said “He passed me and I passed him back and we were wheel to wheel a few times, it was the closest and longest fight I had on this track. I had good fun this weekend, at Spa its always fun.”

The Indian driver did not make any changes to the car setup yesterday as he was happy with its pace. “I don’t know, with my driving I tried pretty much everything but I just couldn’t turn the car into any corner. I tried braking early, braking late, turning early, turning late, turning fast, turning slow, every combination possible but I just was losing time every time, we will just see the data and find out”, commented Aditya about his performance in the race.

South African Rookie driver, Aston Hare claimed another win for Eurointernational at a wet Spa Francorchamps Circuit today for Round 8 of the JK Racing Asia Series. Hare and his teammates, Nabil Jeffri and Tan Wei Ron completed another clean sweep of the podium for Eurointernational

The outing today was declared a wet race with Jeffri lining up on the grid on pole with Hare in second whilst Irfan Ilyas and Tan Wei Ron lined up on row two. Jeffri did not have a good start, spinning his wheel and allowing Hare and Tan to pass him.

From there, Hare started to open up a gap but Jeffri started to make paces and took Tan on lap two before closing in on Hare towards the end of the race. It was some great driving from the duo in the last few laps of the race when they drove nose to tail with Jeffri trying from the inside and outside to find a way past. But in the end, Hare held on to his lead taking the chequered flag just 0.3seconds ahead of the Malaysian.

“My starts this season hasn’t been really good and I finally got off the line cleanly and took the first position at the first corner. Got through the first corner in one piece and from there I pulled a little bit of a gap maybe would give me a little bit of a breather for the race. But obviously not as Nabil is a good fighter, he came back strong and throughout the race I just had to hold him off and I tell you it wasn’t easy, I had to really hold him off.

“A few times I thought he got past but I was just able to hold him and I took the chequered flag. I am happy with the win.

“It’s a very wide track, a few times he almost got a switchback on me. I was just able to hold him and I thought at the last corner he might have just got me. He came around the outside into the Bus Stop, I was just able to hold him. A few times I saw him run off the track maybe he lost a bit of time there but overall it was a good race” said Hare at the Post Race Press Conference.

Speaking of the battle between him and his teammate for the Championship, Hare said “He is fast everywhere. Its not going to be easy, I’ve got a 12 points difference now, I brought it down by five. The rest of the tracks, he has been to so it will be harder for a Rookie. But I will definitely fight hard and hopefully I can pull it off at the end of the year” ended Hare.

“It was a very enjoyable race, one of the best races for me this year. Even though my start was bad but I managed to catch up after a few laps. After getting past Ron, I just went straight for Aston and I was behind him for a few laps until the end of the race.

“He was very good in defending his line and we had a few scary moments especially at the fast turns but it was a very good race at the end. I was thinking about my Championship points. To me it was important to leave Spa leading the Championship” said Jeffri.

For Tan, the Caterham Driver Development driver from Malaysia and racing with Eurointernational, had the best view of the dogfight between the two leading drivers. “Towards the end, I thought I had the possibility while the two of them were fighting, but there weren’t enough laps and the pace that I was coming wasn’t fast enough so the best finish was third.

“I didn’t really have a good start. I came in fifth at the start Aditya passed me but I took Irfan and Aditya after the first lap and I started to build the rhythm as it goes and after that it got better and better. From there I was slowly catching Aston and Nabil but the pace wasn’t fast enough” ended Tan.

Despite being happy with the results of the weekend, with his drivers claiming all podium in Rounds 7 & 8, Antonio Ferrari, team owner of Eurointernational will still be having a little bit of a serious discussion with his drivers. “Its good, I am very happy, especially in Spa. Two weeks ago we won here with Formula 3, we own this place” he said with a smile.

“All four has been on the podium just depends on the positions. The team by itself showed that we didn’t have any problems, we won in the wet and we won in the dry. We fought each other, I didn’t like that so I screamed a little bit on the radio but the rest was good and now we just look forward to the next one”.

Aditya “I really don’t know what happened, I just couldn’t find any grip on the car but I had a really good start. First lap was really good, everybody was bunched up but after that no matter what I did I could not find any grip and I was all over the place. There is really not much I can do.

Ilyas finished the race in fourth ahead of Aidan Wright who was right in the middle of a five way battle for fifth. In the end Wright claimed fifth ahead of his Meritus.GP teammate, Afiq Ikhwan, Eurasia Motorsport’s Danial Hidzir, Meritus.GP’s Ernie Van der Walt and US Formula Project’s Aditya Patel in ninth.

Ikhwan had a good start and was right in the middle of the battle, despite being unhappy with the pace of his car, he had a lot of fun fighting for positions. “I had a good start but the car just did not suit the conditions so I struggled a lot with the setup. We will try and fix the problem and find out what was the main thing why the car is not suited for this condition”. Once he realised he was unable to catch the leaders, Ikhwan just tried to maintain his position to get the best points for the Championship.

Josh Raneri stayed mostly out of trouble from the battling five to finish in the top ten whilst Guest Driver Alexis van de Poele of Belgium and Toby Earle were the last of the finishers in the wet race.

About JK Tyre Motorsports

JK Tyre has always been closely associated with the world of sports. Almost three decades back the company laid down a long term and sustained approach to promote Motorsport. Participating in this form of the sport has helped the company in continuously updating its products to meet the challenges of gruelling Indian conditions. The sport at that time in India was perceived for elite but JK Tyre took upon itself to package and redesign the sport to suit the masses. The company not only made the sport affordable but also equivalent to International operating standards. JK Tyre’s foray into Motorsport was a well thought out strategic decision to not only use and develop this virgin branding platform but also to realize the dreams of making India a force in the field of motor sport.

In 2011, the company acquired the Formula BMW Series and rechristened it as the JK Racing Asia Series (JKRAS). With this acquisition, JK Tyre created history in Indian Motorsport by becoming the first Indian company to acquire an FIA accredited series. The series has to its credit of producing as many as six of the current Formula One drivers, including reigning two- time champion Sebastian Vettel. By taking over the series, JK Tyre promises to utilize it as a platform to encourage and support the world’s best racing drivers and promote India as one of Asia’s motorsport capitals. Thus, JK Tyre has conquered two steps in the motorsport program where the new racing aspirants first establish themselves in India, then graduate to Asian level i.e. to Formula BMW which is now JKRAS and then they move to higher levels of racing. JK Tyre now stands closer to achieving its mission of bringing world-class motorsport to the Indian masses.

The Racing and Karting programme by JK Tyre has been the breeding ground for the country’s motorsport talents like Narain Karthikeyan, Armaan Ebrahim, Karun Chandhok, Aditya Patel and other new emerging talents.

At the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli today was time for the Qualifying and Race 1 in this second and last doubleheader of the season. Due to family problems that held him in India, Sarath Kumar couldn’t take part to this week-end of racing and because of that Mahindra Racing decided to hire Miroslav Popov as a substitute. In Qualifying Popov showed he is worth the trust the team gave him and thanks to a 1’45”970 lap time got a fourth grid slot start. Riccardo Moretti, unfortunately, suffered some chassis issues and finished qualifying with a fourteenth position (1’46’867). It is undoubtedly clear that the already high level of the CIV 125/Moto3 class here at Misano was further increased by several Moto3 World Championship wild-cards.

It was a second and a fifth row starts respectively for Popov and Moretti for today’s race, that started at 4pm. Popov moved off well from the grid and kept a good position in the top spots of the classification, while Moretti increased his position lap by lap. As the race progressed Popov slowed down his pace while on the other hand Moretti caught and passed him in the final laps, winning his fourth race of the season. Popov admitted he found himself comfortable with the bike and both riders will be ready for a repeat performance in tomorrow’s Race 2.

Moretti currently lies second in the championship standings with a 26 points gap from the leader while Popov, with only one race under his belt, is ninth. In the manufacturer standings Mahindra is currently in first position tied with Aprilia. Race 2, the penultimate of the season, will start tomorrow at 2pm.

Misano World Circuit – CIV 125 GP : Qualifying : 1) Antonelli (Honda)– 2) Riins N avarro – 3) Dalla Porta (Aprilia) – 4 Popov (Mahindra) – 5) McPhee (Honda) – 6) Calia (Honda)……14) Moretti (Mahindra)

Misano World Circuit – CIV 125 GP : Race : 1) Moretti (Mahindra)– 2) Popov (Mahindra) – 3) Dalla Porta (Aprilia) – 4) Mantovani (Aprilia) – 5) Loi KTM) – 6) Cappella (Aprilia)

Riccardo Moretti:”Qualifying was really tough for me and I had to work very hard with the team to find a good set-up for this race. Despite the difficulties we never gave up and today we achieved a very important result and I hope for a repeat performance tomorrow. Surely it won’t be easy as the opponents are very strong starting from my team mate Popov that was very quick today. I want to thank the team and Mahindra for this amazing victory.”

Miroslav Popov : “I found myself immediately at ease on the bike right from the start and I got a good result in the race. The bike is very fast and works so well. I stayed in the top positions for the whole race and I dropped down a bit only in the last laps. I ended up second anyway, tomorrow I will try to be up there once again and hopefully I will be back on the podium.”

Thrilling races mark end of Round 2 of 15th JK Tyre-FMSCI National Racing Championship

~Sudarshan Rao makes fantastic comeback in LGB Formula 4 class while Donovan Vaz wins first ever JK Tyre VW Polo R Cup race~

~Double Glory for Mumbai racer Fahad Kutty~

Coimbatore, July 29, 2012: The concluding day of Round 2 of the 15th JK Tyre-FMSCI National Racing Championship gave motorsport lovers thrills galore at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore. Five exciting races – two in the Polo class and one each in the LGB Formula 4, Indian Touring, and Indian Junior Touring classes – took place on the second day.

Mumbai ace Ameya Walavalkar and Goa’s Donovan Vaz won the first and second races of the JK Tyre Volkswagen Polo Cup. Coimbatore’s V.Rajvirdhan, who finished third in the first race yesterday, claimed the title in the second race of the Indian Touring Cars event today. However, the day’s honours for scoring a double went to Mumbai’s Fahad Kutty as he maintained his control to annex the title in the second race of the Indian Junior Touring Cars class today.

In Race 2 of the LGB Formula 4 class, Karnataka’s Sudarshan Rao piloted his car to a nail-biting finish. Starting third on the grid as per reverse grid rules being followed in the Formula Four event, Sudarshan worked his way up to take the chequered flag to make up for his disappointment of second place finish yesterday in the first race.

The race was held in two segments of six and five laps (11 laps in place of scheduled 15 laps). Based on the cumulative timings returned by the drivers, Sudarshan Rao took 15:32.326 seconds and Vishnu Prasad, who finished second clocked 15:38.815 seconds. Delhi’s Sarosh Hataria, the first race winner yesterday, came third (15:39.668 seconds). Once again, Ashwin Sundar blundered and had to ground his car in the fifth lap after he was involved in an accident.

Explaining eloquently on the sequence of the race that witnessed many issues, Sudarshan said “With the two safety car incidents amounting to four lap duration it became tricky in between. I kept my cool though I had clutch problem during formation lap called after the race duration was reduced to six laps.” On all counts, it was a great and deserving victory for Sudarshan, who works as a co-pilot for an airline company.

Vishnu Prasad, who set a massive lead after a swift start, was expected to win the event but faced with some mechanical problems, had to be satisfied with a third place finish today.

In the JK Tyre Volkswagen Polo R Cup, the first race was run in two parts for a total of eight laps following three racing incidents involving Alisha Abdullah – the only lady driver, Ajay Kini of Hyderabad and Prashanth Tharani Singh. In the first race, Mumbai’s Pole starter Ameya Walavalkar won comfortably by four seconds ahead of second placed Rahil Noorani. Mihir Dhakar and JK Tyre driver Diego Duez came third and fourth respectively. In the second race, Donovan Vaz and A. Sandeep Kumar of Chennai came first and second and denied Walavalkar a deserving double. Walavalkar came third in the second race.

In the Indian Touring Cars class, the second race witnessed hard fought battles and seasoned local lad Arjun Balu – the first race winner yesterday – went out of the race in the eighth lap. V. Rajvirdhan and Radha Selvarajan took the top two honours, while Coimbatore veteran D. Vidya Prakash finished third.

Showing true class yet again, Fahad Kutty, the first race winner yesterday, took top honours in the second race of the Indian Junior Touring Cars class. Giving Kutty some anxious moments were Emmanuel Clarke and Feroze Khan, who finished in second and third place respectively.

Round 3 of the six round JK Tyre-FMSCI National Racing Championship 2012 will be held in Chennai from August 25-26, 2012.

Indian Junior Touring Cars: 1. Fahad Kutty (Game over-Mumbai) 20:20.666 seconds, 2. Emmanuel Clarke (Motorev-Ooty) 20:21.941 seconds, 3. S.Feroze Khan (Feroze-Chennai) 20:29.105 seconds

Evelyn Sharma caught partying hard with Kolaveri Di boy Dhanush!

Just hours after walking the ramp as a showstopper for ace designer Nazia Syed, Bollywood newbie Evelyn Sharma was spotted club-hopping with Tamil actor-turned-filmmaker Dhanush K Raja; as the Kolaveri Di boy turned 29 this week.

A birdie tells us that ever since Evelyn visited Chennai for the inauguration of a gymnasium last month, she has become good friends with the “Why This Kolaveri Di” (Why This Murderous Rage, Girl?) boys – music composer Anirudh Ravichander and actor-writer-singer Dhanush.

After the two had flown down to Mumbai for Evelyn’s birthday bash a few days ago; she returned the gesture by heading to Chennai for Dhanush’s birthday bash this week. We even got to know that the boys took her on a club-hopping tour with a bunch of friends celebrating Dhanush’s birthday in pomp and style, while they all danced the night away in maddening frenzy.

The half-German half-Indian Evelyn has already signed five movies before her debut this week with the comedy From Sydney With Love. Wonder if this new-found friendship with Anirudh and Dhanush will add a Tamil movie to her over-flowing kitty

Sambhavna Seth upstages Rakhi Sawant in Tollywood!

In Bollywood, Rakhi Sawant and Sambhavna Seth are both firebrands in their own way. But when it comes to the Bengali film industry Tollywood, the spice queens are engaged in a new war or sorts.

Some time ago, Rakhi went to town over performing an item number in an upcoming Bengali film. But as per the latest reports, now spunky Sambhavna has gone ahead and done a catchy Bong song in a Tollywood flick called Gundairaj.

What’s more! The makers of Sam’s movie are planning to beat Rakhi’s number by releasing their film before the other. Moreover, the girls have a history of fighting with each other.

It can be recalled how Rakhi had lambasted Sambhavna during Bigg Boss and even ousted her from the dance show Zara Nachke Dikha; with rumours that she had asked its makers to drop Sam if they wanted Rakhi on the show.

Sambhavna was indeed dropped. Nevertheless, she moved on to participate in its competing show Dancing Queen and even won it.

All this makes us wonder, if the makers of Jhalak Dikhhla Ja missed out on this whole Rakhi-Sambhavna war. After all, the babes could have made perfect competition and brought greater dramatic value to their show this year.

Kangna-Deepika comparisons hound newcomer Bidita Bag!

Having modeled for many successful brands and campaigns, spunk-chick Bidita Bag, who is all set to make her Bollywood debut this week with the comedy From Sydney With Love, is in a quandary.

The reason: This Bong beauty is continuously being compared to more established heroines namely Kangna Ranaut and Deepika Padukone. In fact, she has been getting a lot of film offers that have gone to Kangna earlier.

“It’s amusing how some filmmakers have been thinking of me as some kind of replacement to Kangna Ranaut,” she happily giggles. “I’ve been offered at least half-a-dozen movies by makers who say I fit the bill for a ‘Kangana-type-of-role’ – whatever that means!”

As if this isn’t enough, some makers tell Bidita, she looks and even sounds like Deepika Padukone; so much so that if she would dub for Deepika, no one might come to know – another comparison that the debutante has to live with, at least for now.

And while the girl takes these links with a pinch of salt, Bidita does assert that she wishes to “carve a completely original identity” for herself, even if she agrees to a Deepika or Kangna-kind-of-role. Lol. Looking at her performance in the promos of From Sydney With Love, we do believe that the actress is versatile.

For the record, her movie’s release will clash with none other than Jism 2; the debut vehicle of international porn sensation Sunny Leone. But Bidita smiles and shrugs it off. “I don’t fear Sunny Leone. Apart from my looks and acting capabilities, I have inner beauty,” she remarks with confidence.

When compared to the mass appeal Sunny’s cleavage carries, Bidita reacts, “A little bit of concealing is any day more erotic than showing everything, isn’t it?”

From Sydney with Love is releasing on August 3.

One of the most awaited exhibitions took place in Mumbai yesterday, the 28th July, 2012 at Tote On The Turf!
Tamanna Vasandani of Vibrance Events,Dubai tied up with a new and upcoming marketing and events company, that goes by the name of EtcEtre, bringing to the city Vibrance Festive Glamour, their catch line being, ‘To think out of the box, and obsess over whats in it!’

This seems to hold true as there was not a single detail that this event missed out on!
Vibrance Festive Glamour was an affair that allowed people to for a well-spent Saturday. Designers that exhibited came from far and wide. They spanned from the dunes of Dubai to the South-East Asian seas of Indonesia. To name a few there was Soiree Boutique, which is a very well known boutique that houses a wide array of Pakistani designers. Ladies of the city came in throngs to get their bags cleaned and laundered with Lovin’ my bags, a store in Dubai that is dedicated to spa treatments for bags, which makes them look fresh and new all over again, almost like buying a new one! From Indonesia, Ananya exhibited their new collection of jewelry. Other designers include, Kitsch by Jaya Raheja, Ayesha Aejaz, Sharmin Mishal, Shalini Chopra, Cinderella Shoes, Cupidity by Karishma and Masumi, Capriosca, Confusion and Floral Art to name a few.

After a day spent shopping, this unique exhibition allowed you to go outside to the courtyard of Tote and pamper yourself to a foot massage by Rejuvinate Salon and Spa, nibble on some delectable food from Tote, which they are known for and sip on a glass of Raveilo wine or a colorful drink made from fresh juices, the pomegranate and melon being a favorite!

The vibe of the exhibition was almost as though it were a party!
Lively music, drinks and finger food doing the rounds and the decor, which was one not to be missed – neon umbrellas suspended from the ceiling of Tote, making the entire atmosphere ‘ALIVE’ and went perfectly with the monsoons, taking away from the dreary weather that we experienced yesterday!

Despite the down-pour, Vibrance Festive Glamour saw a host of shoppers that came to witness this awaited event and also pamper their bags and them selves, such as Gauri Pohoomal with her mother Sharyu Daftary, Shaan Khanna, Madhoo Shah and Lata Patel. Other young mother and daughter duos were – Leetu and Pia Shivdasani, Anu and Piya Shivdasani and Champa and Tanaaz Doshi!

Not to mention their surprise guest celebrity! Richa Chaddha of Gangs of Wasseypur that came to inaugurate the VIP lounge! Richa was there for a while, and certainly enjoyed herself, she looked stunning in a simple red structured dress with an embellished collar, styled by very close friend Nishant Bangar.

‘It was great and an honour to have her here with us and to have her come support one of our first big events since the conception of the company!’ says marketing partner Maya Bhogilal.

The day was certainly well-spent and alot of fun!

Currently there do exist plans of having another event at some point this year, details of which will be revealed later.
