Flying high

When young filmmaker Gitanjali Sinha made her first film Yeh Khula Aasmaan, as a family film, eyebrows rose. In this era of commercialisation, will a young filmmaker’s faith work?

Six olive branches and two international awards later, Gitanjali Sinha walks with her head raised high with Yeh Khula Aasmaan, starring Raghubeer Yadav, Yashpal Sharma and youngster Raj Tandon and Anya Anand,being well received by audiences and critics alike.

The film being acclaimed by the critics with the 3 star ratings, and the audience who is not only loving the film, but are also getting touched by the sensitivity of the subject, proves that when a filmmaker has the conviction, audience follows.

And so the cast of the film gathered together for a small get-together post the film.

Anya Anand and Raj Tandon the acotrs of the film, Kunal Ganjawala who lent his voice to the film, producer Hemendra Aran and Gitanjali Sinha enjoyed the moments of fun after the stress of of giving the film its much-wanted grand release.

“I always believed that good content speaks for itself,” says Gitanjali.”It is very encouraging that today’s audience are appreciating high content films. Whoever, is coming is saying that it a must watch for parents and kids and I feel touched.”

Interestingly, Yeh Khula Aasmaan is doing the best against all other Hindi films released during the week, where the occupancy is continuously on rise with some halls such as Fame, Infinity Mall going housefull.

Adds producer Hemendra Aran, an IITian with a vision of quality entertainment, “as a first time banner, Gitanjali Creations is proud to receive the support of the industry. We are grateful to those who believed in Yeh Khula Aasmaan and supported it by giving it a 189 screen release all across India. For a first-timer it is a great release.”

Overwhelmed by the success of their first film, that has established a respectable profile for their company within the industry space, the makers are excited about their next two projects in the pipeline.

Says Hemendra Aran, “we have always believed in making quality cinema in an entertaining manner and will retain the same in all our projects.” Here is wishing more of their ilk bring back the much-needed glory of yore to Indian cinema
