The challenger, Chael Sonnen, an American wrestler with 40 UFC fights under his belt, will take on the current champion, Anderson Silva, nicknamed ‘The Spider’ and hails from Brazil. Both these powerhouses have met inside the Octagon once before, during which Silva beat Sonnen to claim the UFC Middleweight Championship.

UFC 148 has all the elements that promise to make it a spectacular sporting event. Another fight to look forward to is Forrest Griffin vs. Tito Ortiz. Both fighters have a lot at stake, with Griffin saying ‘If I lose to Tito, I’ll retire from life’. There is clearly a lot of animosity between opponents and will lead to an electrifying clash inside the Octagon.
