Sony Entertainment Television presents ‘Dil Ki Nazar Se…Khoobsurat Starting 25th February at 7:30 p.m.

Mumbai, February 20th, 2013: What if someone you never met, someone you never saw, someone you never knew was the only someone for you? Sony’s new show ‘Dil Ki Nazar Se – Khoobsurat’ spins a tale of love of a young girl for a hero who is unseen but not unheard. This is not love at first sight. This is love at first hearing, when the voice captures the heart and imagination. Sony Entertainment Television proudly presents ‘Dil Ki Nazar Se- Khoobsurat’, a new heartwarming show of love in a different avatar. The show premieres February 25, 2013 every Monday to Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Produced by Shashi Sumeet Productions Pvt. Ltd., ‘Dil Ki Nazar Se – Khoobsurat’ unpredictable in its approach, looks at love from a new perspective. Relationships are forged on new grounds and new promises, where mature evaluation of real tenderness is based on solid strengths. The show delves on the story of Aradhya played by Somya Seth, a pretty young, naïve free willed girl next door who stays along with her parents and elder sister, Madhav (Rohit Khuranna) who is a complete contrast to Aradhya, an introvert who suffers from a strong complex due to his ugly looks and his best friend, Rahul (Abhishek Malik) an extremely good looking man who can make any girl go weak in her knees.

Aradhya the protaganist is deeply in love with Ehsaas, a charmer by heart and an exceptionally talented radio jockey who, through his show, brightens up Aradhya’s day and puts a smile on her face. Aradhya is smitten by his voice. She imagines him to be the prince charming of her dreams, with stunning looks and believes that her own beauty and grace deserves someone who is equally magnificent in appearance. To her, Ehsaas is an embodiment of all her desires, as she continues to paint a mental portrait of him. But does Ehsaas really exist? Or is he just a façade on which Aradhya has pinned all her hopes and dreams? The story takes us through the thrust and parries of the couple’s struggle as they reach a state of true understanding.

Mumbai: February 21, 2013: Once again the devotees of Mamtamai Shree Radhe Guru Maa are set to celebrate the auspicious day of Radhe Guru Maa’s birthday on 3rd March, 2013. People from across the world congregate in Mumbai every year on the day. The crowd includes devotees and sevadaar/ volunteers.


Mamtamai Shri Radhe Guru Maa is a spiritual teacher in the Sanatan Hindu tradition. She was born in Dorangala Village in Gurudaspur, Punjab, and lives currently in Mumbai, Maharashtra. As a child, she was drawn both to the teachings of the Sikh tradition in which she was born as well as to the temple of Goddess Kali in her village.

Radhe Maa was initiated into spiritual practice by her guru Shri Shri Mahant Ramdeen Das 1008 of the Paramhans Bagh Dera, Hoshiarpur, Punjab, when she was 23. A few months later after meeting the Mahant, Radhe Maa withdrew from all familial and societal concerns to dedicate herself to the service of Lord Shiva and his consort Parvati. While Radhe Maa preaches that all spiritual traditions preach the glory of the same Godhead, Radhe Maa considers the worship of Lord Shiva and Devi as the antidote for all ills. She worships her ishta devatas or chosen deities through teerth yatras, bhajan, and ritualistic worship as prescribed by the Hindu scriptures. She prescribes the same path to those who seek her blessings.


Shri Radhe Maa emphasises on the need for surrender to God, humility, truthfulness, self-discipline and self-restrain. While she holds that all spiritual traditions, teachers, deities and scriptures deserve our respect, she says it helps if one surrenders to a particular manifestation of divinity/guru/deity of one’s choosing and directs all of one’s devotional energies in that direction.

Mumbai, February 20, 2013: Prithvi Shaw’s blistering half-century and brilliant bowling by Aatif Shaikh helped defending champion Rizvi Springfield (Bandra) beat Navi Mumbai Municipal S (Vashi) by 8 wickets at the Coca-Cola Cricket Cup in Mumbai played at Cross Maidan on Wednesday

Navi Mumbai Municipal S (Vashi) won the toss and opted to bat and scored 126 runs in 30.1 overs. None of their batsman managed to stick to wicket and score good runs. Their wickets fell down in regular intervals as they could not stand the bowling attack and acute fielding of Rizvi Springfield (Bandra). Siddhesh Rathod of Navi Mumbai Municipal S managed a decent score of 40 runs (5/4s and 1/6s) in 33 balls.

Rizvi Springfield’s Aatif Shaikh showed brilliant fielding abilities taking 4 wickets, also well supported by Azim Shaikh and Prithvi Shaw who took 3 and 2 wickets respectively.

In another match , an eight-wicket haul by the captain Siddharth Akre helped Tarapur Vidyamandir (Boisar) win against Anjuman I-Islam who collapsed in 15.1 Overs with just 63 runs , with a chasing target of 353 runs.

New Delhi, 20 February 2013: In the men’s hockey on the third day of the Hero Hockey World League Round 2 Delhi 2013, Ireland defeated Fiji 13-0 in a one sided game played at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium today.

Michael Darling (12thmin), Peter Brown (14th min), Phelie Maguire (23rd min), Christopher Cargo (31st min & 55th min), Eugene Magee (34th min), Conor Harte (41st min & 58th min penalty corner), Shane O Donoghue (45th min penalty corner), Alan Sothern (60th min, 64th min & 66th min penalty corner) & Geoffrey William Mccabe (63rd min) scored the goals for Ireland.

Ireland’s skipper Eugene Magee was declared Player-of-the-Match.

2nd edition of Wassup Andheri Festival announces its Master Initiative

Mumbai, 20th February 2013: The 2nd edition of ‘Wassup Andheri’ Festival, a Times of India initiative organized by Bosco Ceaser Dance Company & F5 that kicks off on February 28th announces its master initiative by today. The programme will give aspirants of film making an opportunity to interact and connect with the biggies of the industry. have roped in stalwarts like the director of Barfi! Bangladesh upset China 3-2 in the Hero Hockey World League Round 2, Delhi 2013

New Delhi, 20 February 2013: Bangladesh delivered a major blow to China by defeating them 3-2 on the third day of the Hero Hockey World League Round 2 Delhi 2013 played today at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium.

The Bangladesh team played an attacking game since the beginning of the match. In the 5th minute of the game Md. Mamunur Rahman Chayan from Bangladesh took advantage of the penalty corner and converted it into the first goal for his team. Later in the 34th minute Mohammad Moinul Islam and in the 50th minute Pushkor Khisa converted second and third goal for Bangladesh to keep their team on the winning streak.

In reply, Yubo Na from China scored in the 11th minute and skipper Mi Ji converted the second goal for China in the 27th minute of the game.

The TV ad itself is path breaking as it has been amongst the 1st to juxtapose a 70’s Bollywood song to fit an insurance situation, bringing in satirical humour. The TVC showcases the hapless customer running from pillar to post to complete Insurance paperwork. But the Hindi Song “Aap Yahan Aaye” in this context makes the whole film entertaining whilst still conveying the angst of running after a claim. The Bharti AXA Life Solution comes in the form of the Dedicated Claims Handler who proactively contacts the customer and handles his claims process end to end.

Entertaining experimental film celebrates 60 successful days, eyes 75 days

This 58-year old Telugu actor, writer, poet, playwright and director, who has dedicated 29 years of his life to the film industry working in 600 plus films, is on the verge of creating history! Telugu film thespian Bharani Tanikella, who will be seen portraying an investigative journalist’s role in Apoorva Lakhia’s ‘Zanjeer’ remake starring Ram Charan Teja, Priyanka Chopra and Prakash Raj, is celebrating 60 Diamond Days of his debut film, ‘Midhunam’ (Harmony) even as it inches towards 75 Platinum Days mark. Buoyed with the enthusiastic response in Andhra Pradesh, the film will soon release in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu with subtitles but preserving the magic of Telugu bhasha.

The veteran film and theatre actor, who became a debutante director almost at retirement age with ‘Midhunam’ ( – a film on a septuagenarian couple – is planning to showcase the film at Cannes as well as Mumbai Film Festival amongst other international film festivals. Bharani, who wrote Ram Gopal Varma’s cult film ‘Shiva’ (starring Nagarjuna) and also acted in it, has acted with the who’s who of Telugu cinema but choose to make an entertaining yet experimental film with just two simple characters played by Padmabhushan Dr. SP Bala Subrahmanyam & the legendary Lakshmi (aka the original ‘Julie’ in Hindi cinema). The actor, who has two films with Junior NTR and one with Pawan Kalyan, didn’t take any contemporary stars in his film, Midhunam.

The multi-facetted Bharani Tanikella, says, “The Telugu film industry makes more than 250 films every year and I wanted to take Telugu films to the world cinema level. Films have to be purposeful and Midhunam’s message is that senior citizens can also enjoy life if they get engrossed in enjoyable activities and endeavours.” He adds, “In these contemporary times when every film is targeting the youth, I wanted to create new audiences especially the oft-forgotten senior citizens and young ones. It was heartening to see 80-year olds trudging to the theatres with their sticks and sometimes with support from their children or grandchildren. Midhunam helps bridge the generation gap and induces pride in our traditional culture, ethics and values. There is scope for a change. If we make good movies, public will watch, appreciate and reform themselves. A powerful media can change the society.”

And the film is really attracting a lot of attention right from Andhra Pradesh to the United States to Canada. In Hyderabad, a police officer showed the film to 150 other policemen. Prasad Film Labs distributed free popcorn and water to all the audiences four weeks after release. Renowned south Indian director Bapu wrote a personal letter appreciating the film and missed watching it with his film buddy the late Ramanna. Singeetham Srinivas and Sowcar Janaki said it was a fulfilling experience. Dasari Narayana Rao said it should go for a national award. A youngster replaced his computer screensaver from a popular actress’ image to that of his parents. The film was shown in 20 theatres in the US and two in Canada. NRIs are calling Bharani for access to the film and its DVDs.

Midhunam’s story is based on a 21-page short story written by Sri Ramana. Tanikella Bharani has developed it into a full fledged script. It’s extremely difficult to make people sit for 2 hours for a 2-characters film. But, Tanikella comes out with flying colors in engaging the audiences and entertaining them. Tanikella Bharani has mixed humor and creativity to a subject that is highly contemporary. It will get awards purely on its merit. This film is of ‘world cinema’ quality on international circuit.”

Bharani claims that he continues to be inspired by the legendary Satyajit Ray, who made memorable films in simple settings with a universal message. The unassuming creative genius says, “People do tapasya (penance) for God and they find him whereas I did tapasya for audiences and they walked in to see my film. I believe that I have made a good film and the film has become GREAT!”

Dr. SP Bala Subrahmanyam, who plays Appadaasu, wondered how Bharani could make a 20-page story into a two-hour movie with 80 scenes! As the film progressed, he enjoyed the role and accepted my condition that he shouldn’t sing in the film. After watching the first copy of the film, he said one thing: “If I were to tell my life history, then it should before Midhunam and after.” Initially Lakshmi was hesitant to do the film but when she heard the narration of the story, she started crying after 15 minutes and immediately accepted saying that no story narration had ever brought tears to her eyes. She said that she enjoyed living the character of Buchchi Lakshmi for 30 days and then coming back to her real life totally transformed.

A commerce graduate with a PG Diploma in Theatre Arts Bharani has worked in more than 600 Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi films, and has written the dialogues for 52 films. He has won awards more than 25 times as best writer and 50 times as best actor in theatre. He won the prestigious MIFF award as best debut director for the short film ‘ink’ as well as 2 Nandi awards for performances. He directed many other short films such as ‘blue cross’, ‘the last farmer’ and ‘key’. He started his career as a dialogue writer for Kanchu Kavachum in 1984. and has written dialogues for various movies like Ladies Tailor (1985 film), Sri Kanaka Mahalakshmi Recording Dance Troupe (1987), Varasudochhadu (1988), Chettu Kinda Pleader (1989), Swara Kalpana (1989), and Seenu Vasanthi Lakshmi (2004). Bharani also penned and sung the lyrics of Gundammagaari Manavadu (Bhale Bhaleti Mandu). In 1989, he appeared in the hit film Shiva by Ram Gopal Varma (which starred Nagarjuna) and received much recognition for his character Nanaji. He also played the lead role in the Hindi comedy film Main Tere Pyar Mein Pagal in 1999 and Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega. His powerful antagonism in Samudram won him the Nandi award as the Best Villain. After 2000, he started playing more mature roles in movies like Manmadhudu (2002), Okariki Okaru (2003), Samba (2004), Malliswari, Godavari (2006), Happy (2006), and more. He played one of the lead roles in Rajubhai (2007). He is very much popular in the background of movie industry, often quoted as “Maga Saraswathy” (Male god of education) by different actors and actresses.

Panasonic gears up for a sizzling summer with Katrina- unveils new ad campaign on Acs

21st February 2013, New Delhi, India: Panasonic India has released a new advertising campaign created featuring Katrina Kaif on the sidelines of unveiling its news range if ACs for the approaching summer season. This is the time of the year when manufacturers rev up the marketing strategies around their summer centric products and with the kind of upsurge in competition in the segment, Panasonic has started early. With this new campaign, the company hopes to make its presence felt as the innovator, the change-maker. Panasonic’s home appliances brand ambassador, Katrina Kaif, has time and again expressed her delight to be associated with Panasonic’s eco friendly endeavors to change the way consumers use today’s technology and this is her 3rd year of her association with the brand.

The communication for 2013 focuses on leveraging the benefits of a very successful campaign in the year gone by, and further strengthen the product promise ‘One touch to change the future’.

The TVC, on air from February 15th shows the latest Panasonic Econavi AC in different scenarios- First is a day time scene with Katrina spending some leisure time with her friends. The second one has Katrina having a party at home, with the space filled with guests. All this while, Panasonic Econavi AC, with its 4 sensors controls the temperature and the direction of the air flow, hence saving energy without much human intervention. Panasonic plans to run the campaign during major upcoming sporting events, budget session in the next few months.

The Ad Campaign will be primarily visible on the news channels, regional general entertainment channels and Pan India exposure in early March. The TVC will be supported with an extensive BTL activity throughout. There will be four edits of the Ad ranging from 45 sec to 10 sec.

Lyricist Naqsh Layalpuri spotten at Mumbai event

Mumbai.Naqsh Layalpuri, who has been writing lyrics for Indian cinema since the times of Kishore Kumar, was honored at a recent Anubhuti Kavya Sandhya at Borivali (W), Mumbai on Sunday. The event was organized by Gandhi Vichar Manch & Anubhuti & a poem book released which is written by Manmoan Gupta, a social worker and Chairman of Gandhi Vichar Manch in Malad(W),Mumbai.

Other poets present at the occasion were Alok Bhattacharya, Kailash Saigar, Khanna Muzzafarpuri, Santosh Shrivastava,Devmani Panday, Rekha Roshini,Meenu Madan,Neha Vaidya etc and Bjp MLA Gopal Shetty, Capt.Harchet Singh Brer(Retd.), Jayprakash Pandey are guests.

Naqsh Layalpuri first wrote lyrics for Deewaangee in 1976. He also wrote the song “Kadar Tune Na Jaani” for movie Noorie. His last known movie was Babal Da Vehra in 1986.
