Sidharth Malhotra fanatics couldn’t be more excited , as the actor traveled to cities across the country to meet his fans with co-star Parineeti Chopra .

While the release of Dharma Productions & Phantom Films’ ‘cucking frazy’ entertainer ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’, is just around the corner,the leads traveled to Bangalore, Pune and Kolkata, only to meet with an unprecedented welcome by die-hard Sidharth Malhotra fans who created mob situations at every college that he visited.

At the Mount Carmel College in Bangalore, Sidharth was not only mobbed by girls from the college, but all his fans who crowded the location to catch a glimpse of their favorite star.

The Bangalore tour was followed by a visit to Pune, where Sidharth visited the KJ College and the Indira College, where needless to say, the situation was similar to what happened in Bangalore, with his female fans rooting for Sidharth and clamoring for more.

The tour concluded in Kolkata, with Sidharth and Parineeti’s visit to the IEN College, where thousands of fans landed up at the college to chant his name out aloud as he took to the stage to interact with his fans,much to their delight.

For the first time ever, Indian cinema will see a documentary getting a theatrical release.

The team of Ship Of Theseus, that received immense appreciation from all quarters for the film are venturing into releasing a documentary this time around titled Gulabi Gang.

The documentary, directed by Nishtha Jain is based on Sampat Pal and the fiery women of her Gulabi Gang–who take up the fight against gender violence, caste oppression and widespread corruption in Bundelkhand.

Sohum Shah, the actor and producer of Ship of Theseus has taken keen interest in the documentary and turns presenter with this project.

The team of Ship of Theseus is championing an alternate voice by getting a theatrical release for this documentary.

The team will be transferring their equity of Ship Of Theseus to Gulabi Gang, which will be released in 15 – 20 screens.

This initiative would indeed throw more light on documentaries being one of the most significant mediums of Indian cinema.

Poonam Pandey’s Royal Bollywood desire!

Speaking of gems and royalty, we recently spotted actor Poonam Pandey at the photo shoot for an international jewelry brand. The actress was dressed in royal attire and with matching regal Jewellery portrayed the sight of a princess.

The Photo shoot was done by ace Bollywood photographer Hitesh Kaneria and the gem necklace around Poonam’s neck looked like it came right from the sets of Jodha Akbar. The regal chocker reminded one of a similar piece that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wore in the period film starring Hrithik Roshan.

The royal green, rich reds and dazzling stonework resembles a combination of Mughal and Rajasthani artistry.

When we quizzed Poonam, she remarked, “I have always been fascinated by the royal attires that Queens and Princesses always wore. And Aishwarya Rai Bachchan did a fabulous job in Jodha Akbar as the Queen. If ever I was offered a similar role in a period film or a historical bio, I would grab it with both hands.”

Poonam portrays the grace and élan of a princess and the attire fits her like it was made just for her. Let’s hope we get to see more of the Princess avatar of this rising star.

Highway Diaries are short video snippets that capture the journey of the film. The makers have released the latest episode of Highway Diaries, that is in the recording studio with the Nooran sisters of Punjab, who have sung Patakha Guddi.

Films capture journeys but in Imtiaz Ali’s much-awaited Highway, the journey has made the film. Presented by Sajid Nadiadwala and starring Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda, the film traverses six states of north India and captures the landscape of the different regions as it goes along.

Highway Diaries are short video snippets that capture the journey of the film and all the exciting experiences that the cast and crew had during its making.

In the latest episode of Highway Diaries, we are in the recording studio with the Nooran sisters of Punjab, who have sung the Patakha Guddi song, picturised on Alia in the film. Jyoti and Sultana Nooran, who are famous for their free-style sufi singing, have been picked by music maestro A.R. Rahman for this energetic number. In the video lyricist Irshad Kamil reads out the words of the song to the sisters and they cut loose behind the microphone, as director Imtiaz Ali watches intently.
