SALMAN GIVES A THUMBS UP TO UNDERGROUND FILM’S MARATHI REMAKE OF NO ENTRY

Salman Khan in a recent report has praised the film and given thumbs up to the Underground Film’s Marathi remake of NO ENRTY. When asked about his views regarding the film being made in Marathi, without hesitation he replies, “Ekdum mast film banegi”. He adds, “Maharashtrian logon ka humour toh mast hota hain. The Marathi actors will definitely do justice to the bold script that this film demands.”

Ankush Chaudhari, who plays Salman’s role in the film, has big shoes to fill. He shoulders more responsibility than Salman did, as he also dons the hat of director. When asked about it, he is quick to retort, “I heard about Salmanji’s comments in a recent news article. It’s a tremendous morale booster for me. I am confident that I have not disappointed Salmanji or Aneez Bazme.” He adds, “I was blessed with an unbelievable team to work with. We sailed through the film making without hitches. My friend Bharat Jadhav and all my other co-stars and crew have been so supportive. With so much support and encouragement, it has been such a pleasure doing this film and I’m sure this movie has the makings of being a blockbuster. Now it’s left to the audience to watch and enjoy the movie, which I had so much fun making”.

Ankush Chaudhari is a well acclaimed Marathi actor and has done lots of films in Marathi and a few in Hindi as well. This was not Ankush’s first stint as director. He has been an associate director on films such as ‘Agabai Arechhya’ and ‘Jatra’. He has also independently directed the film ‘Saade Maade Teen.’

Life is but a set of memories, the memories we cherish throughout and keep these treasures safe in the wallet of our heart. But some memories that get imbibed in our minds are those which give us goose bumps even after ages. Aushim Khetarpal when asked about one such memory shared his experience spent on the sets of his upcoming flick “Baba Ramsaa Peer”

While shooting for the film, Actor-Producer experienced great many things but ones that will remain with him lifelong are those that happened while shooting the climax of the film. “In myths there is a mention of Babaji coming across a beggar and later on he goes to greet his favorite cows. When we were shooting for this particular part of the movie without having setup for a beggar, when the shot was rolling a beggar from nowhere came across me. Later on the same thing happened with the cows. I came across 4 cows during the shooting of the same sequence. The shot was taken and it came out to be perfect. But it’s sure seemed like a big coincidence that such a myth would happen with us when we are shooting the saint’s story. Rather it was the divine blessings of Baba Ramdevji,” says Aushim.

The film “Baba Ramsaa Peer” which releases in September is produced by Satish Tondon productions and Orient Tradelink Ltd. The music of the film which will also include Gujarati and Rajasthani folk music is given by Surinder Bachan and the film is directed by Bhabani Prasad.

Renaming Aashirwad would hurt Rajesh Khanna’s soul, says Anita Advani

The late Rajesh Khanna’s ‘lady love’ Anita Advani, who reportedly had a long-standing live-in relationship with the megastar at his Bandra bungalow Aashirwad, is extremely upset, hearing the buzz about the latemegastar’s bungalow being renamed Vardaan.

“If the rumours are true, it would hurt Kakaji’s (Rajesh Khanna’s) soul,” quipped Anita Advani, adding that “Aashirwad is synonymous with Rajesh Khanna”.

She particularly found the name-change talks upsetting, as she said, the name Aashirwad was given to the bungalow by Rajesh Khanna’s father.

“Kakaji used to fondly remember and tell me how the bungalow was named Aashirwad. When they were looking for a new name for the bungalow, his father had thought for a long time and then suggested the name Aashirwad. Kakaji has mentioned that his father said, ‘You’ll be a star and people will write letters and fan mail to you. Whenever they write your name on the letters, they will write the words – Rajesh Khanna Aashirwad. So in a way, they would always be giving you their Aashirwad (blessings).’ That was the lovely thought behind the name,” reminisced Anita Advani.

Remembering her years with the megastar, Advani remarked, “Kakaji used to say that this (Aashirwad) was the ‘most favourite’ name given by his father. The bungalow was also his most prized possession, which he wished to convert into a museum and his last wish should be fulfilled. In fact, together, over the years, we both designed its interiors with a long-term plan to convert it into a museum.”

Advani further added that she was “perturbed by the sudden name-change talks. What sense does it make? If it’s true, it’s a weird move and doesn’t sound nice.”

Reacting to claims about her asking for a stake in Aashirwad, Advani’s spokesperson Dale Bhagwagar stated, “It’s false that Ms Advani has claimed a stake in the bungalow. But she has maintained that Mr Rajesh Khanna wished to turn it into a museum for his loving fans.”

Nautanki and Lavani, the rich traditional folk dances are creating ripples in the Indian cinema. Even an accomplished actress like Vidya Balan could not resist herself from shaking legs to the thaskas of Lavni and Shilpa Shetty’s thumkas on the “UP-Bihar” song are still fresh in our memories. Claudia Ciesla is amongst the many that enjoy these dances and have danced to the tunes of these songs for her shows.

Claudia beams, “My latest favorite item songs being Jalebi Bai, Mala Jau de, Chikni Chameli. Vidya has performed exceptionally well in Mala Jau de, her adas are killer. And Katrina too was splendid in Chikni Chameli.”

Sands, flute and Srinath storm

A flute recital combined with a group of energetic dancers, and a sand sculptor opened the cultural programme of the Murari Bapu cultural and spiritual fest.

Baljinder regaled one and all with his unique rendering on the bansuri from traditional, classical to Rajesh Khanna’s evergreen Mere Spanon Ki Rani number, Damadum Mast Kalander, Pankh Hote To Ud Aati Re that had everyone including Makarand Deshpande and host Madan Paliwal and son Mantra Raj Paliwal dancing. Baljinder’s Aadha Hai Chandra maa invited a garba frenzy among over 15000 people followed by Kajra Re Kajra Re and a host of other numbers.

22-member group Prince Dance Group with its 22 members, coloured in silver regaled audiences with amazing performances on Krishna Avtaar. Nilesh Bharti’s dextrous fingers created amazing works of art from a simple sand box and ended with an eye-opener on female infanticide.

All in all, an entertaining event indeed.

Rohit (Nishikant Kamat, the director of film Force) is a struggling writer living in a cramped flat in a middle class suburb of Mumbai. He is thrust upon with the task of writing an erotic pulp fiction novel much against his sensibilities. As he starts writing the novel, the world of his characters opens up, in front of him.

There’s protagonist, Pallavi (brilliantly played by Sakshi Tanwar), her workaholic husband, Sharad (Sandeep Shrivastava) and their humdrum marriage. Enter Vinay (Anand Tiwari); a younger version of Sharad…and therein begins a conflict within Pallavi who is out to explore her options….

Writing about this forbidden territory, Rohit’s conventional thinking confronts his personal demons…. At one level, the story is of Rohit and his inner struggle… where his heart reasons to go one way, but his needs drag him the other way.
