Mumbai, August 24, 2012: SAB TV’s leading police comedy FIR has entertained viewers with its light hearted content and celebrated the completion of its seven years sting by throwing a grand party.

Mr. N P Singh, COO, Multi Screen Media Pvt. Ltd. along with Mr. Anooj Kapoor, EVP and Business Head, SAB TV, Sanjay Kohli – Producer of FIR, Shashank Bali – Director and Amit Aryan –Writer too joined the cast and crew to celebrate this momentous occasion and wished the entire team.

Kavita Kaushik, who essays the role of ‘Chandramukhi Chautala’, speaking on the occasion said, “I have been on the show from the first episode and it’s been an excellent journey till date. I had not realized how much time had flown by till I was told that we have completed seven years. My congratulations to SAB TV, my co-artists and the production team and do look forward to many more years of the show and also being on the show.”

A cake made specially to mark the occasion was cut by Kavita Kaushik in the presence of Mr. Anooj Kapoor after which everyone hit the dance floor and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. On invitation of Filmi Box we got a chance to meet producer Dr. Sanjay Patole at music release of his maiden film “Riwayat” based on shocking issue of female foeticide. Film is releasing on 7th Sept all over. Here is a brief chat with Dr. Sanjay Patole…….

Q : What provoked you to produce this film ?

A : First of all I would like to thanks Mr. Narendra Singh & Mr. Arshad Siddique of Filmi Box as because of them I am able to release “Riwayat” in India as I am settled in Australia, and by profession I am Professor of neonatology at the University of Western Australia and my colleague Dr. Ajay Rane is the founding Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at James Cook University, Queensland, Australia, we both are motivated to preserve life one as an obstetrician and the other as a neonatologist since last 25 years, we have been saving many infants life in our entire carrier, I have even saved a child who was just weighing 450 grams, by studies we came to know that about 100 million baby girls are missing from this world since 1984 – 40 million from India alone, this provoked us to do something on this issue, and we though cinema is the best media by which we can pass on a message to save female foeticide because the practice of female foeticide is still rampant judging by the falling female to male baby ratio in India.

Q : Why did you selected new actors instead of stars ?

A : Established actors are having a particular image, whereas new actors are not, this was the main reason we took Samapika for main protagonist in film along with Khalid Siddique, Salil Ankola, Achint Kaur, Sourabh Dubey, Aditya Lakhia, Narendra Jha, Rajendra Gupta, Mangal Kenkre, Gauri Kulkarni, Major Vikram, Rakhi Mishra, Tanya Tiwari & Sayaji Shinde in main roles. These actors can justify their characters.

Q : Your director Vijay Patkar is a well known comedian in Hindi & Marathi cinemas, what made you to select him as your doctor ?

A : I knew Vijay since many years, so I can understand that there is a serious person behind his comic image, beside this he has made a hard hitting film in Marathi film ‘Ek Unad Diwas’, so I was confident that he can give justice to this film. Beside Vijay I have good technical team like dialogues by Imtiyaz Hussein, music by Sushil Lalji. Songs are rendered by stalwart singers Shaan, Kailash Kher, Shreya Ghoshal, and the legendary Jagjit Singh and lyrics are by Sudhakar Sharma and Nusrat Badr. Cinematography is by Suresh Suvarna, art by Yunus Pathan, sound Shrikant Kamble, and editing by Dinesh Mengade.

Q : Do you think “Riwayat” will stop killing of female foeticide ?

A : At least we are trying, I believe audience will be forced to think on this, even Millennium Star Mr. Amitabh Bachchan expressed his feelings in an event, where he said ‘how we can congratulate ourselves as a superstar nation when we lose millions of female infants to foeticide’. Recently, even Super Star Aamir Khan brought this issue in light in the very first episode of his mega talk show ‘Satyamev Jayate’. Our film has achieved worldwide recognition by winning 5 awards and 12 nominations in 12 international film festivals – an outstanding achievement for an unusual commercial film that handles a serious social issue while still retaining all the color, songs, and dances of Bollywood films.

Kellogg’s Chocos brings gaming to life for kids through augmented reality

Mumbai, August 25th 2012: Kellogg’s Chocos, the popular kids’ breakfast cereal organized a unique augmented reality experience in Mumbai today, where participating kids starred in a special Kellogg’s Chocos game as their own avatars. The evening saw kids thronging to Oberoi Mall, Goregaon to get a hands on feel of being a part of a live virtual game. What is Government is doing for traffic & Parking?

Mumbai. The city is experiencing escalation in traffic difficulties day by day and the government is not taking any concrete steps to solve it says Malad (West)’s Gandhi Vichar Manch’s president Manmohan Gupta.

Vehicle owners are paying taxes like road tax, parking tax and toll tax but government is not doing anything for improving the services. This is not particular to Mumbai and it is being suffered in entire India, especially, the major cities.

Government has neither designated any parking areas and to reduce traffic there are no places to park vehicles in crowded areas. To earn money, they have employed RTO towing vehicles. Common mans vehicles are towed, but the busses, shopkeepers vehicles etc are not touched, as they get bribed for that.

If there is an empty place and vehicles can stand without affecting traffic, government puts a no parking sign.

“Why don’t they make one way in crowded areas and shift the street hawkers?” wonders Manmohan Gupta.

He has requested the government to give facilities to people when they collect so many taxes. “Country’s population and vehicle population is increasing faster than the government’s plans. Roads have not been widened and no new roads have been built,” Manmohan Gupta says.

“Sonakshi is little fat”-Vindu Dara Singh

Movie Joker is releasing next week and Vindu Dara Singh is playing the role of ‘Shundi’ in the movie, which is a good role and is the friend of the movie hero Akshay Kumar. Vindu is reminiscences many funny movements during the shooting.

Akshay Kumar made a Gymnasium at the movie sets and made everyone exercise. Once while Akshay Kumar, Vindu and Sonakshi Sinha were travelling on a scooter to the sets, they had to stop due to a heard of goats. Akshay took one goat and threw it to Sonakshi and it was caught in camera by Vindu. It was published in many papers, but the scene is not a part of the movie. In leisure time they played cricket, foot ball and scrabble or just pulled one another’s legs.

When asked about Sonakshi, Vindu Dara Singh says “Sonakshi is little fat, but it is not her mistake. Her mother makes tasty food and people lick their fingers. Akshay used to often say that Sonakshi’s mother should make the food. Sonakshi’s mom made Sarson ka sag, fish is sarsoan ka tel and paye ka soup many times. We used to often joke that Sonakshi should not be fed with such good food. Sonakshi’s family is good and we all live like a family.”

Aushim Khetarpal finds horse riding funny

Horse riding is considered as a sport for the brave hearts. From ancient time to the modern era the sport didn’t lose its sheen among the royal class. One requires a rigorous training of six months to become a good horse rider. But what if a layman who sat on the saddle for the second time began galloping the horse? Something similar happened with Aushim Khetrapal during the shoot of movie ‘Baba Ramsa Peer’.

The actor-producer of the movie Aushim Khetrapal had to ride a horse in one of the scene. He was very tentative as it was just the second occasion when he was riding the horse. Keeping the fact in the mind, the director had readied the duplicate on the horse back. Surprisingly, Aushim desired to complete the sequence without deploying the duplicate for the scene. Director thought Aushim would step down from saddle in a few minutes. But it turned out to be a different story altogether.

Aushim not only completed the shoot hassle free but also took horse under control by tightening the reins. Later he displayed the trot walk of the horse before the crew members.

Aushim quoted the incident as the funniest moment during the shoot, but the director and crew were spell bounded by the public display of bravery from the former.

As per Meet Bros Anjaan, the opportunity to write “Mere Nishaan” for Oh My God fell into their hands due to the history they share with Akshay Kumar. After composing a song for Akshay’s past film, Speedy Singh, the actor/producer called upon the trio to jump back into another collaboration. Manmeet of Meet Bros Anjjan, discloses a personal moment, “ Akshay was moved to tears when he first heard “Mere Nishaan” and had fallen in love with the song. ” The harmonious relationship between the trio and Akshay Kumar has now extended into composing music for two more films.

Adding to the soulfulness of the song, is the featured vocals by Kailash Kher and Meet Bros Anjjan. With the combination of Kailash’s vocals, Akshay’s passion and Meet Bros Anjjan musical composition, “Mere Nishaan” is meant to be a landmark of its kind, due to the amount of depth and meaningful message the song carries across, says Anjjan. Press Council chief owes an apology to Rajesh Khanna’s fans: Anita Advani

The late Rajesh Khanna’s ‘lady love’ Anita Advani, who reportedly had a long-standing live-in relationship with the megastar at his Bandra bungalow Aashirwad, is saddened regarding a statement made about her love Rajesh Khanna by none other than Markandey Katju; the chairman of Press Council of India.

Speaking at a seminar on ‘Media and its responsibilities’ this week, Katju slammed television news channels for “excessive” coverage on film stars, cricket and astrology to boost viewership. Taking media to task, Katju pointed out that channels should rather be focusing on real issues such as economy, poverty, unemployment and farmers’ suicides.

Referring to such coverage, he is reported to have stated, “How does it matter if Rajesh Khanna is dead or alive.” Though his dismay over sensational reporting is genuine, such a statement has upset Khanna’s ex-partner Anita Advani tremendously.

When asked about Katju’s comment on Rajesh Khanna, Advani retorted, “Kakaji (Khanna) was loved, adulated and even hero-worshipped for years at end, across India and abroad. He made millions laugh, smile and cry with him.”

“To say ‘how does it matter if Rajesh Khanna is dead or alive,’ after he has passed away, is not in good taste. It has hurt me a lot, but more than that, I feel Mr Katju owes all of Kakaji’s fans an apology,” said Advani.

Explaining her distress over the issue, Advani’s spokesperson Dale Bhagwagar remarked, “Ms Anita Advani has always told me, she loved Kakaji like crazy and that she was always there for him. Maybe, it is because of this special bond they shared, that she finds this casual remark insensitive!”

MAHINDRA RACING ANNOUNCES NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH SUTER

Friday, 24 August, 2012: Mahindra Racing will team up with Swiss company Suter Racing Technology AG for the 2013 season. The first-ever Indian manufacturer to compete in a two-wheeled World Championship series will collaborate closely with former Grand Prix rider Eskil Suter’s company to produce an all-new Mahindra Moto3™ race bike.

Mahindra entered the MotoGP™ series in 2010 and put in a creditable performance in the outgoing 125cc two-stroke class. The switch to the four-stroke, 250cc single-cylinder Moto3 class for 2012, however, has seen the team struggle with engine performance despite the Mahindra MGP-30 having a sweet-handling chassis.

With the majority of the field using proprietary production-racing engines from established factories, Mahindra, an important manufacturer of two wheelers in its domestic market, believes that developing its own technology will be more valuable. To this end, Mahindra’s engineers will work closely with Suter to develop a new chassis and engine.

“We have said this before and we reiterate that Mahindra is committed to succeeding in MotoGP. We conducted a 360 degree review of the Mahindra Racing operations to evaluate and conclude on strategic initiatives needed for future” explained Mr S.P. Shukla, Mahindra’s President of Group Strategy and Member of the Group Executive Board, at the Czech Republic Grand Prix at Brno. “We have been impressed by Suter Racing Technolgy – its track record, facilities and expertise and its Moto3 bike design. We were also impressed that Suter shares many of Mahindra’s attributes and values and is excited about this partnership”

Some Indian ISPs ban the entire WordPress domain with thousands of blogs blocked

Several ISPs like Sify in India have banned the entire wordpress domain which includes thousands of blogs including those of prominent journalists in India in direct contravention of Government of India directions and a complete violation of the Fundamental rights of citizens. While the Government of India may have requested for the blocking of some sub domains like xyx.wordpress.com, or abc.wordpress.com, the Internet Service Providers or ISPs like Sify have gone into overdrive and blocked all the sub domains or blogs hosted on WordPress which is the most common free publishing software on the internet. Blogs hosted on private servers but merely using the wordpress publishing software are not affected. However, thousands of bloggers whose blogs are hosted on wordpress.com cannot update or edit their blogs if they are using ISPs like Sify and many others.

According to avid blogger, freelance journalist and publicist and editor of Futuristic Media Network, Flynn Remedios, “Some ISPs have blocked thousands of websites and blogs in India. I update and manage about 50 blogs for my clients as their publicist, most of which are hosted on the WordPress domain. These include my own blogs like futuristicmedianetwork.wordpress.com and indiawire.wordpress.com. All these blogs have nothing but entertainment and lifestyle-related posts and have nothing to do with religion or politics. I am enclosing a print screen of the banned/blocked message. I would request the Government of India and Sify to clarify. For the last 4 days, I am unable to update or add content to any of the 50 blogs hosted on the wordpress domain or even create a brand new blog for that matter. This is a complete violation of my fundamental rights accorded to me under the constitution of India.”

Bloggers in India have formed a forum called the INDIAN BLOGGERS FORUM OR IBF to protest against this arbitrary and illegal blocking or banning of their blogs. Says Remedios, “All our blogs have contact information including an email id as well as a phone number. In spite of this, we have been banned with no prior information or intimation. This kind of repression of free speech has never been seen before anywhere in any democracy in the world. The ISPs are responsible for executing government orders, but this does not permit them to arbitrarily block all blogs or websites. They must find a way to block only the offending blogs and not enforce a blanket ban on all blogs.

All bloggers whose websites and blogs are blocked or inaccessible are requested to contact bloggers.forum.india@gmail.com. The Indian Bloggers Forum will approach the Supreme Court praying for the immediate unblocking of the blogs of the aggrieved bloggers as well as other reliefs and directions to the GOI.
