SAB TV is in the mood for love with

Golmaal Hai Bhai Sab Golmaal Hai

Mumbai, Aug 1st,2012: SAB TV announces the marriage of romance with comedy on its brand new show Golmaal Hai Bhai Sab Golmaal Hai. Yet another delightful offering from SAB TV, with its penchant for rib-tickling shows, this brand new “love struck” comedy begins airing on the 13th of August 2012 at 8pm, Monday to Friday.

Mr. Anooj Kapoor, EVP and Business Head, SAB TV said, “It’s a perfectly packaged family entertainer with the ethos of SAB TV, of humour, family values and a lot of entertainment. Its got familiar faces and our story line is simple and effective. The concept of a rom-com is mostly limited to films; we have tried to bring it instead to your TV sets.”

With stalwarts in acting and comedy like Tiku Talsania, Aparna Mehta, Rajeev Thakur, Melissa Pais and Swapnil Joshi whose very presence evokes helpless laughter, this show promises to have every house exploding with mirth, evening after evening! Golmaal Hai Bhai Sab Golmaal Hai has an urban set-up and revolves around a family that stays in the posh lanes of Juhu, Mumbai. The Dholakia family consists of Dhanwantrilal Dhyanchand Dholakia, better known as 3D, his sister Pari, his brothers Dhawal and Dharmesh and their niece Dhwani. Dhwani, played by Mugdha Chapekar, lost her parents when she was born and was brought up by 3D himself.

The catch here is that 3D is entirely against love and love-marriages and has decreed that no member of the family can marry till his unmarried beloved sister Pari, well past middle age, finds her perfect match. Read ‘perfect-match’ here as ‘trouble’, simply because 3D wants to get Pari married to a boy who has a horoscope match of “chattees gunn” (36 virtues) with that of hers. Swapnil Joshi plays the character of Sachin who is head over heels in love with Dhwani and wishes to marry her but can’t due to the family decree. Comic mayhem begins when Sachin enters the story and decides to change things around.

Swapnil Joshi reveals, “ This is my first fictional family comedy after quite sometime now. I have only been dabbling with reality comedy shows and it’s such a high because you know instantly if your jokes work or not. This show is a different type of comedy and I hope the audience loves me like they loved the fantastic Amol Palekar in the Golmaal film. Its one of my favorites till date and thats why I instantly said ‘yes’ to this show.”

With all of that, the curiosity still remains as to how Swapnil wins the hearts of 3D’s family. Well, the simple boy enters the household as 3D’s manager and finds out how all the bachelors of the family are dealing with their so-called bachelorhood. While Dhawal secretly escapes home to meet his lover , Dharmesh is secretly married to a girl. All kinds of ridiculous hell breaks loose when Sachin arranges to bring these women home, one as a nurse and the other as a cook.

Vipul.D. Shah of Optimystix says, “We have always tried to do something new and fun. This show of ours aims to provide wholesome entertainment for the entire family. It’s a love story that only gets funnier with every episode. It has great production quality and some very fine actors and of course, a very charming story.I have a feeling the show will definitely strike a chord with its audience.”

The way SAB TV believes, “Asli Maaza Sab Ke saath aata hai”, bring your whole family together and enjoy this refreshing rom-com and share those care-free evenings with 3D’s family. Laugh helplessly and fall in love with these adorable and extremely funny characters and their eccentricites only on SAB TV, Monday to Friday at 8pm. Leave the rest for later!

Father – Daughter duo create music together for the first time for ‘Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai’.

These days a proud papa Anu Malik seems to be floating on cloud nine with his first project with daughter Anmol hitting the theatres on 3rd August with the release of Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai. He has been actively participating in the promotion of the film and its song across various media houses.

Young Anmol who has sang the peppy wedding track ‘Big Fat Indian Wedding’ with Neeraj Shridhar has already received accolades for its high voltage performance. The song sounds as vibrant as its visual.

It was at Neeraj’s insistence, that Anu had Anmol sing the duet in the track and Boy has Anmol left her father stupendous with her performance!

Before this she received best debut award for her performance with the track ‘talli’ from Ugly or Pugly.

Anmol seems in no hurry to encash on her new celebritydom. She’d rather wait and let various experiences pave the path for her career.

For now she is keeping busy with her workings for her own album.

As for the rest of the tracks of Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai, Anu has once again superceeded himself. His music composed for the title track ‘Pyar Karna Na Tha’ and ‘Tere Bina’ has been working wonders for the film promotion.

“When Ashim (Producer) approached me with the script, I decided I’d rather stick to creating rare melody. The Aradhana film banner has always evoked a sense of romance in all its films and I wanted to bring back the era of romantic songs in Bollywood.”

So it’s not a surprise to note that Anu’s magic has worked for the music of the film. Hope it charms the audiences at the Box office too!

Mahesh Bhatt:
Spiting off visuals emanating out of the human imagination has been the norm since medieval times. In recent times I remember Karan Johar’s film Kurbaan’s posters were pulled down by the moral police. Only faces of politicians change, their thoughts never do.
An ordinary citizen’s freedom has often fallen prey to the political class claiming that is good for the society. And now we will gracefully agree to their demands and replace these posters with new non controversial ones!

Chitrangda creates a stir with her item song in Joker

Donning a traditional lavni get-up , Chitrangda Singh takes the temperature notches higher as she gyrates to her solo in Joker quirkily titled “I want Fakht you” giving several a run for their money.

Sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and choreographed by Farah Khan ,the actress sizzles in her first ever item song that is fast becoming a rage –Talking about the song says Chitrangda “I love dancing. It was so much fun and hardwork working on Kaafirana. The choreography is really very sensuous.”

While several draw comparisons to other item numbers the actress remains unfazed – “Well, I think comparisons are inevitable. There are bound to be comparisons. But I think it is great that this is the time for songs like this and I think we have a great number.”says Chitrangda.

Talking about casting Chitrangda for the song says Farah Khan “For Kaafirana/I want fakht you, we needed someone who wasn’t your typical run-of-the-mill item girl…Chitrangda has this earthy rustic beauty and it worked for the song .She is really going to shock people with this number”.

Silky Khanna- An Act For All Seasons

For someone on edge like actor Silky the big screen is the place to be & she makes no bones about it. “It’s important to be a performer. Getting noticed for a small gesture that adds to the scene is what I look for in my part. I know I can do a variety of roles & get noticed for them”. Blessed with a sunshine smile & eye-catching features, her unique gifts, pretty faced Silky can fluff up a super show every time she faces the camera.

Her fun-loving mindset cannot be away for long. “I do not take my talent lightly”, she chips in good-humoredly.

You have seen Silky endorsing many of the top brands on the tube. Sample this for appearances- Ujala Techno with Sachin Tendulkar,RIN with Kajol, Pepsi with Ranbir,Parle G with Aamir come to mind immediately-leading brands with the best names in the business. “Ad’s have great recall value. You will always remember actors associated with a product,” she avers.

For the plump Delhi born Punjaban life has been a kind of dream run. From Television serials to the advertising arena to working with the top cinema makers it’s all been happening for Silky- and boy is she thrilled! “Always Kabhie Kabhie” & “Love Express” her films have given her the podium she was seeking.

Silky is gung-ho about her freshest “Chalo Driver” where she stars opposite Manoj Pahwa & plays the aunt of the lead actress in this out-of-the-box Rom-com. “I am sure it is my best film till date & will get me noticed. Writer-Director Vickrant Mahajan, is a great guy to work with. I adore fresh ideas for stories & Vickrant has really gone against the grain to come up with this delightful plot. I would love to be a part of his future directorial ventures”, she gushes

Quiz her about her future plans & she says, “I would love to do properly defined characters rather than make inane appearances in every release. “As a comedian & character actor I know there is space for the taking in tinsel-town. Producers insist that I “maintain my figure”. Anyway, there is no dearth of any of these skinny lasses frolicking around. They are no match for me”, she says tongue firmly in cheek.

Silkys character, Manorama, in the popular TV series “Lo Ho Gayee Pooja Is Ghar Ki” was very well received & gave her the initial stimulus & confidence. “My series was aired for a year on Sab TV. The good thing apart from the experience was that it gave me the practice & poise to face the camera. I took things easy for a while as my son Utsav was born at the time as I wanted to give him all my attention. Utsav is 13 today & I feel I can go all the way to pursue my dreams”.

With appearances opposite the who’s who of the country Silky is confidence personified. “I found Ranbir to be great company. He is suave & his boyish charm is to die for. I am doing a film with Ranbir for Dharma Productions. Deepika plays the lead. I cannot wait for the film to begin” she reveals.

“I am also doing one for Yashraj Films. I’m really wound up. After all, they are amongst the top film banners in the country. I am also keen to share screen space with the big Khan’s Salman & Shahrukh. Who wouldn’t want to work with them”? She chugs on.

Acting apart Silky is a sucker for dance & loves being a part of the disco scene. “Dance helps me unwind & rejuvenate. It really gives me a high when I hit the floor”.

For now the world is her floor as she strides into the celluloid world armed with her talent & dash for life.

I’m more interested to know why people commit crime- Actress Jessica Biel

Sony Picture’s film Total Recall will be releasing on August 3 worldwide. In this film Actress Jessica Biel will be playing one of the lead roles of character Melina. Jessica who started her film career at the age of 14 has worked in many films. Her prominent films being The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Blade: Trinity, I’ll be home for Christmas, Summer catch, The Rules of attraction, Valentine’s day, New years eve etc. She became a household name for her character of Mary Camden she played in the drama series 7 th Heaven.

Jessica is back in the news for her role in Len Wiseman’s directorial venture Total Recall. The film is produced by Toby Jaffe and Neal Moritz. The film is the remake of the original Total Recall made in 1990.The film is based on the writer Philip K Dick’s short story “We can remember it for you wholesale” and stars actor Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale alongside Jessica Biel in the lead roles. Talking about her character of Melina, Jessica says, “The character of Melina in this film is quite different from the original film. Len Wiseman and his team have made a lot of difference with this film. To compare the character between both the films is very difficult. Rachel Ticotin has done a fabulous job with the character of Melina she portrayed in the original Total Recall.”

How did the movie happen for her? To which she says, “When I heard about the film and read the script I felt this film will be quite different from the original and only reading the script gave me a thrill! Original film used more of computer generated imagery. And though the story of the film remains the same but the way it is presented, differs. When audience will watch the film they will be as thrilled. Len has done a good job with its filming and direction. World is aware that Len has a Midas touch when it comes to action films. His previous films Underworld, Live free or Die hard were a huge success!”

Talking about her stunt scenes Jessica says, “While doing the action scenes you do hurt yourself a little, it’s no big deal. But while doing an action scene with Kate nothing much happened may be our stars were lucky. I have done all my stunt scenes whatever was required of me to do. But there are some scenes which have been performed for by Janene Carleton. She has been a stunt woman for me in this film and I got to learn a lot from her as well.” Jessica loves doing action scenes, she says, “When you do these scenes you put your entire body to use which I don’t get to do on everyday basis. I absolutely loved doing the action scenes and I got to learn martial arts as well.”

If she had a chance to get a dream memory implanted from Rekall, what particular memory would she want? “I always wanted to be a secret agent or a CIA operative. I am amongst those who watch the TV series “48 Hours”. I’m more interested to know why people commit crimes. What is the real reason behind it?”

Happy about the character of Melina, Jessica beams, “My character is the heart of the film. When Melina meets Quaid she honestly tells him all reality but he doesn’t believe her. She helps Quaid at the time when the world has turned its back to him.”

Post Total Recall, Jessica will be seen in the films like “The Tall man” and sports comedy “Playing the field”.

Trust the makers of the comic sequel ‘Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum’ to shock, just like the film!

In December 2012, when the first poster of the film was released, it was bold enough to carry reviews from two leading critics who had vehemently detested the original back in 2005.

In times where film makers are busy quoting glowing media reviews in their communication, Balaji, in a daring and first-of-its-kind print ad that appeared in a morning daily in Mumbai, has taken a few critics head-on by actually quoting their negative reviews and then cocking a cheeky snook at them by revealing the film’s astounding weekend collections.

Says Ekta Kapoor, “The taalis from the audience have paled the gaalis from some of the critics. The film’s path-breaking collections have established the film’s critic-proof status and reaffirmed our motto of what the audience wants – entertainment, entertainment, entertainment!”

For the record, the film’s 4-day net domestic collections are a staggering 26.46 cr!

Gihana Khan replaces Mallika Sherawat in Sachiin Joshi’s Mumbai Mirror!

Mallika Sherawat seems to be going through rough times! Earlier this year, filmmaker Priyadarshan insisted that her item number be dropped from Tezz, and now the actress has been removed from the Sachiin Joshi starrer Mumbai Mirror, directed by Ankush Bhatt.

Apparently, the production team of Mumbai Mirror was so cheesed with Mallika’s unprofessional ways that they thought it best to do away with her altogether from the film. It is said that after agreeing to do the movie at a certain amount, just when the shooting was about to begin, Mallika unexpectedly decided to hike her price.

She is said to have suddenly started dilly-dallying from allotting dates to the movie’s first schedule after everything was planned by the unit. This irked the makers who decided they did not want to tolerate her tantrums.

“Mallika thought she could extract more monies by holding up the shoot last minute by not allotting dates. But this is blackmail. If she could do such a thing even before the movie rolled, she could have done it again,” says a unit source.

“If she demanded more monies mid-way, it would have been very difficult for us to replace her then. So the best way to tackle such unprofessional behaviour seemed to make do with her,” the source added.

We tried contacting Sachiin Joshi’s publicist Dale Bhagwagar about this, but he remained unavailable for comment. At the hindsight, it seems this will again be Mallika’s loss all the way. Because reports have it that a new dusky damsel called Gihana Khan has already signed on the dotted line.

Rakshabandhan is a festival to understand sister’s welfare says Vijay Badlani

Mumbai Priya, the sister of actor Vijay Badlani is married and now she lives in Kandivali. Vijay Badlani, who has acted in movies like ‘Kartik calling kartik,’ ‘My Name is Khan,’ and serials like ‘CID,’ ‘Jhansi Ki Rani;’ has recently acted in movie ‘Rajjo,’ and ongoing serial of Sahara One ‘Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajana,’ is going to his sister’s place for the festival of Raksha Bandhan. Speaking about the festival Vijay Badlani says, “The festival is associated with many stories but is known more for love between brother and sister. In my opinion, people in olden days created this festival so that once sister is married and goes to her husband’s place, the brother should go there and get Rakhi tied. He will get to know the sisters welfare. This is a very beautiful festival. Brothers and sisters should celebrate it with joy. Love should get more focus than gifts which brother normally gives to his sister. This year, I will go to my sister’s place to celebrate Raksha Bandhan.”

Aditya and Nazia pairing in Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai reminds Farida Jalal of Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila in Aradhana.

This comment was made by her a month back at the music launch of the film. Who knew that India’s first superstar Rajesh Khanna would not be with us when the film with the title of his most popular song releases on 3rd August.

“Kakaji gave to the industry what nobody came closer to. He was tagged as the King of Romance with his unbelievable persona – it will be impossible to find another to ever take his place” Said a nostalgic Ashim Samanta

Meanwhile, the film promos and publicity is full one and in one particular real life episode a blushing Aditya was found to be the topic of discussion where two giggly girls couldn’t help but swoon over his great look-a-likeness to the legendary Rajesh Khanna in the promos.

Must say it’s a great responsibility for Aditya to live up to !

The little big nation of Animation- Estonia excited about collaboration with India

Priit Tender a well known Estonian animator shares his views on animation

industry in Estonia and world over

Mumbai: July 31, 2012: The magic of animation was explored at the Osian’s Cinefan Film Festival in the presence of well known Estonian animator Priit Tender who is in Delhi to meet students and introduce them to a land where imagination can make anything possible- Animation according to Priit is a simple narrative that could be educative as well as entertaining.

Commenting on the Indian animation industry, Priit said that “It is still at a nascent stage and a lot of government impetus is needed to grow the industry here”. He pointed out that animation in Bollywood and Hollywood are made for earning money and it needs to generate revenue for the film makers, this does not allow the filmmakers the independence to experiment. Elaborating further on it he said, “This explains why animation industry the world over has not been popular as much as in Estonia”.

Priit though expressed lot of interest to tie up with Indian filmmakers. “I am looking forward to tie-up with Indian film makers and produce animation movies; it would be greatly exciting to explore characters that are different than the ones I dabble with in Estonia” he said.

Speaking on the tradition and popularity of Estonian animation industry Priit commented “Animation industry in Estonia is funded by the ‘State government’, which has set-up a film fund to finance animation films thus it doesn’t need to struggle for funds to produce movies or search for co-producers. This has popularized the animation industry in Estonia and provided it with the much needed boost. It has also enabled film makers to be independent in their film making and not be driven by commercial interests. In Estonia as animation is closer to an art form and heritage”.

He also pointed out that moving further there would be great demand for feature animation that is made for adults and not typically for children.

Sharing his thoughts on the sudden increase in the number of animation schools and commercialization of the trade, Priit believes that it is not the schools that teach animation but the actual on-ground studio experience that sculpts the animator. He believes that the relationship between the animation master and the student is the best way to learn the trade.

Priit also pointed out that there is a huge difference in short animation films and feature films, as in short films one can experiment. However in a feature animation film the character, visuals, as well as the plot needs to be defined and there is lesser scope of experimentation as one has to keep the viewer engaged for larger duration of time.

Priit would be conducting a master class for school students at Osian’s Cinefan Film Festival tomorrow introducing them to the world of animation and its technique.

Team Mahindra Racing was back on track today for the 7th and penultimate round of the 2012 CIV 125GP season at the Marco Simoncelli World Circuit in Misano. After yesterday’s win by Riccardo Moretti in the first of two races of this doubleheader round, today Miroslav Popov tasted victory on his first week-end on the bike.

Race two was reduced by the Race Direction to a total length of 15 laps instead of the scheduled 18, as the high temperatures could have affected tyre performances. Popov and Moretti once again moved off from the 2nd and 5th row of the grid, respectively.

Popov rode an amazing race and was able to battle in the leading pack and to cross the line as the first of the 125GP riders. The Czech youngster showed incredible potential in only his second race with Mahindra. Moretti, on the other hand, didn’t get a good start and couldn’t fill the gap between himself and his teammate, finishing anyway with a solid third place. His only rival for the championship victory, Lorenzo Dalla Porta, scored a second position that allowed him to clinch the title with one race to go. Moretti is second in the classification, while Popov climbs up to eighth place with just two races under his belt. In the manufacturer standings, Mahindra lies in first place with 151 points ahead of Aprilia with 146 and Honda with 50. The last race of the season is scheduled for October 14th at Vallelunga.

Misano World Circuit – CIV 125 GP : Race : 1) Popov (Mahindra) – 2) Dalla Porta (Aprilia) – 3) Moretti (Mahindra) – 4) Cappella (Aprilia) – 5) Carpi (Aprilia) – 6) Lio (KTM)

CIV 125 GP Classification: 1) Dalla Porta 146 – 2) Moretti 116 – 3) Carpi 80 – 4) Mazzola 57…….8) Popov 45 – 9) Kumar 43

Riccardo Moretti: “We had a bit of bad luck in this Championship. I was able to win four races out of seven and today I ended up on the third step of the podium, but this wasn’t enough to get the title. We were unlucky at Monza and especially at Mugello, when I got a faultless collision with another rider butI have no regrets as I did my best and so did the team. Today, I had some set-up issues, I tried to push at my best to get a podium finish and I did it. I want to thank Mahindra and all the team for their fantastic job.”

Miroslav Popov: “That was an amazing race! I passed so many riders and I was able to fight in a pack of six/seven riders, took some risks but I did it. The bike was so quick and helped me win a hard fought and spectacular race. A big thanks goes to the team for the help I got this weekend.”

I love to be called an action star says

Kate Beckinsale

The 5 feet 7 inch tall actress Kate Beckinsale is always in the news for her films and her personality. This time around she is back in the limelight for her film “Total Recall” of Sony Pictures in which she is playing the character of Lori. The film which releases worldwide on 3rd August also stars Actor Colin Farrell and Jessica Biel alongside Kate in the lead roles. Producer Toby Jaffe and Neal Moritz’s this film is directed by Len Wiseman.

In Total Recall, Kate plays a negative character for the first time. Sharing her experience she says, “I have played the character of Quaid’s wife Lori. If at one point of time she is a loving wife in the next minute she is a ruthless murderer. I have never played a dark character like this one which is a major reason why I have worked in this film”

Kate has mostly worked in action films but why is it that she prefers action over romance and drama? To which Kate replies, “I was 17 when I started acting. I have always been independent woman and I do not like to portray the character of a weak, meek woman. I love doing action films for that reason and I love to be called an action star!”

In the original Total Recall which was released in 1990 the character of Lori was played by actress Sharon Stone. So while playing this role did she face any sort of pressure? “Oh no!” she says, “I have seen the original Total Recall, I like it very much and Sharon Stone’s performance is indeed commendable. But I did not feel any sort of pressure as such.”
The film Total Recall is directed by Kate’s husband Len Wiseman. The couple has worked together as the director and the actor in the movies of Underworld Series. “I and Len have worked together in the film Underworld’s series and all these films have been a success. We do not face any sorts of problems when working together. During the shooting, on sets we both work as a director and an actor and once its pack up we are husband and wife!”
Kate plays a lead alongside two other stars – Colin Farrell and Jessica Biel- so did she face any problem? To which she says, “No there weren’t any problems. We played our parts and had fun. Both of them – Colin and Jessica – are fun to work with.”
Before the film Total Recall, Kate has done TV serials and other genre films apart from the action films for which she is well-known. Kate started her film career with Kenneth Branagh’s “Much ado for about nothing”. After she got noticed in this film she did films like Cold comfort farm, The last days of disco, Brokedown Palace, Haunted, Pearl Harbor, Tiptoes, Laurel Canyon, Van Helsing, Underworld series, Click, Snow angels etc. Kate has not only done serious action packed films but has also done a political drama based film “Nothing but the truth” and was also seen in rib tickling comedy “Everybody’s fine”

Bipasha goes Bold for Raaz 3

Leave it to Bollywood diva Bipasha Basu to dare to go where very few have –While her recent risqué Raaz 3 poster seems to have raised several eyebrows, the actress who shot for the bold campaign minus a body double unapologetically decided to go all out for the poster that has caught everyone’s attention.

Insiders reveal that despite having a bold subject, the producers had their reservations about approaching Bipasha for the shoot given its controversial nature and has considered using a body double and later morphing the actress’ face onto the model’s body .However, Bipasha insisted on shooting for it herself ,impressing the entire unit with her professionalism.

Confirms Bipasha Basu “When I learnt about the concept, I decided to do it. I had no qualms. It’s my movie and I should be shooting for the poster. I understand that it was required to show the film’s theme in the right light. I have always been comfortable in my skin and never been conscious of my body. It was the right decision.”

Additionally audiences won’t have to wait too long as the promo of Vikram Bhatt’s 3D horror film ,presented by Fox Star Studios and produced by Vishesh Films , starring Bipasha Basu,Emraan Hashmi and Esha Gupta is scheduled to air alongside Jism 2 on August 3rd.

Recall of the past for Kate and Colin

Kate Beckinsale and Colin Farrell are working together in the Sony Pictures reboot film “Total Recall”. In this flick Kate and Colin will be seen portraying the roles of husband and wife.

But rumor has it that Kate has briefly dated Colin in the past before her marriage to Len. And if this rumor is to be believed then working together for these love birds might be like an icing on the cake. 24/7 acting as a couple, an old relationship and a kissing scene to film, doesn’t it sound like a treat? If not a treat, then it sure must have been more like recalling of the past for them!

But we hope that while they recall the past, they do not fall in the trap which gives their story a new start!
