Queer Ink celebrates 5th year collaboration with Kashish Mumbai International Queer Film Festival

Mumbai, 19th May, 2014: 

Queer Ink is India’s only Publisher of LGBT-specific resources. Queer Ink launched in 2010 as an online retailer specializing in books on sexuality and gender. Concerned with the lack of resources available in the mainstream, Queer Ink published its first book in 2012. Since then, Queer Ink has published several e-Books and is working in collaboration with writers and Editors to bring out stories on the lives and issues of LGBT India.

Queer Ink will showcase its collection of books, DVDs and pride merchandise during KASHISH 2014 at Liberty Cinema, Marine Lines. Products on sale will be discounted for KASHISH delegates during May 22 till 25, 2014.

 

The Kashish Mumbai International Queer Film Festival is the biggest Indian film festival for the LGBTs. Kashish means ‘attraction or allurement. In association withQueerInk, Kashish Mumbai International QueerFilm Festival focuses on diverse LGBTQIApeople in India to bring them into the mainstream.Kashish is stepping on to its 5th year – celebrating this festival from 22ndto 25th May, 2014 at Liberty Cinema, Marine Lines, Mumbai.

KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival pioneers as the biggest gay & lesbian film festival in India and South Asia. It is the only queer film fest to be held at a mainstream venue; and was the first LGBT festival to receive clearance from India’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

The theme for KASHISH 2014 is DARE TO DREAM, recognizing the progressive movements for equality and dignity for gay, lesbian and transgender persons across the world. KASHISH 2014 will highlight, reflect upon and celebrate the people, communities and movements that ‘Dare To Dream’.

 

The festival attracts LGBT persons from India and abroad, their families and friends, allies, the crème da la crème from the field of art, literature, theater and Bollywood as well as mainstream audiences.
