Procam International announces detailed arrangements for Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2012

New Delhi, September 26, 2012: Procam International, promoters of the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon, unveiled the Route Map for the event and outlined the medical facilities and other arrangements that will be put in place for the 31,746 participants expected to run on race day in a media conference at the J L N Stadium on Wednesday. Present on the occasion was Dr Anurag Krishna, Medical Director of the Race, Race Director Hugh Jones and Vivek B Singh, Jt. Managing Director of Procam International.

Keeping in mind the possibility of the weather being hot on September 30, is has been decided to start all the races earlier. “This year it will be warmer but it is the best time one could pick depending upon the adapted strategy and overall performance,” said Hugh Jones.

Medical Partner Max Healthcare will ensure that every participant has a safe a healthy run and have made elaborate arrangements for the same. “There will two Base Stations, including one especially for Senior Citizens, and six medical stations along the route. Seven fully equipped ambulances will be pressed into service and manning these will be 75 doctors, 50 physiotherapists and 100 plus nurses & paramedics,” stated Medical Director Anurag Krishna.

Apart from that, there will be seven doctors patrolling by two-wheelers the race route. “All the staff are well-trained and equipped. We have gave them information and training on communication and quick action,” Krishna added.

There will be one Base Camp at the Start and Finish of the Half Marathon and the Great Delhi Run, which will have between 50 to 60 beds, 1400 litres of water, 300 kgs of ice in cube form, Gatorade, 15 tables with drapes, first aid kits, medicines, relief sprays etc.

The second base camp will be at the Start/Finish of the Senior Citizens’ Run and will have around 12 beds with all of the above.

Each of the six medical stations along the route will have 300 litres of water, 150ks of ice, Gatorade, 2 tables with drapes, first aid kits, relief sprays etc.

To keep all participants sufficiently hydrated there will be 14 water stations along the route, from where around 80,000 litres of water will be distributed. These water stations will also distribute around 11,000 sachets of Gatorade to the participants. There will also be three orange stations from where oranges will be distributed, besides four cool sponge stations.

Besides these arrangements, there would be nearly sufficient Law & Order and Traffic Police on Race Day to prevent any untoward incidents. Their efforts would be supplemented by 800 private security guards and around 1000 volunteers.

Arrangements have been made for a total of 100 Porta Pottys, from which 72 will be distributed in the holding areas at the J L N Stadium, while 28 will be stationed along the route.

Procam International has always ensured that thorough cleanup drives are conducted immediately after the event to restore the roads to the condition they were in prior to the event.

This year Procam International has appointed Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA), who specialise in waste management, to undertake this task.

All the waste from 21 km route will be collected and brought to the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, where it will be segregated into dry and wet waste. The same will then be sent to the recycling plants.

All types of Plastic waste and PET bottles will be recycled into plastic granules, while paper waste of all kind will be recycled at the Muzaffarnagar Paper Mill.

There will be a deferred live telecast of the event between 7.30 am and 11.00 am on Star Plus and Doordarshan.

The Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2012 for Elite men will start at 6.30 am, followed by the Half Marathon for Elite women at 6.35 am. The Open Half Marathon will start at 6.40 am, followed by the Wheelchair Event at 7.30am, the Senior Citizens’ Run at 7.35 am and the Great Delhi Run at 8.45 am.

Indian most fabulous latkhatia car TATA NANO gets the new look in “Nano Art in Motion” Festival.Indo-Spain Artist Ms. Sangeeta Babani was one to create the piece of art on Nano. Starting out with the concept of ‘festivity’ and ‘celebration’, Tata Motors invited Sangeeta Babani to Paint the car and the show was curated by Pradarshak Gallery.

Excited about painting on the Tata Nano, Ms Sangeeta Babani plans to interpret the theme of celebration using her signature blend of realism and abstractionism, set to the vibrant color palette for which her art is known to follow. Admitting that this is the first time she is displaying her at on a car, the artist said, “I am glad we are experimenting with this form of art and it looks challenging. I have used a lot of colors to enhance the celebratory mood. Also, since the car will visit old age homes and orphanages, I want it look cheerful.”

Translating such a mindset on to the car as a canvas, Sangeeta has excelled at recreating a narrative of celebration and festivity, spreading cheer, going by the original intention of the company, to take the car around the city of Mumbai.

‘Login’ (“Connected Online But Disconnected in Life”) is a stark reality check on the unexplored influences of the online medium on an individual in actuality. The film traverses the journey of different individuals and how the Internet and social networking sites change their lives forever. True to its caption – “Connected online but disconnected in life”, the film portrays how the influence of everyone being glued to the Internet, is slowly fragmenting them away from their true selves.

Jai is a young office going guy who seeks a girl friend through on line dating sites. Vandana is a housewife who spends her free time chatting on a social networking site. Debu is a guy working in a call centre who uses the Net to make money. How the use of Internet had affected the lives of these three characters forms the crux of the story. The movie stars, Himanshu Bhatt, Radhika Roy, Akkash Basnet, Rashmi Gautam, Nandini Rai, Siddarth Chopra, KK Binojee and the supporting cast includes Ram Gopal Bajaj,Uttej, Tarzan, Raghu Kumar Karumanchi, Moutusi Guha, Pavani Reddy and Kautilya Chanakya The story-screenplay and-direction is done by Sanjeev Reddy, and has been produced by Sanjeev Reddy and Raj Kumar Ponugupati. COLORS show Na Bole Tum is set to return with a second season

On popular demand, COLORS fiction show, Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha is all set to return with a second season. The announcement comes in after the channel received viewer feedback to revive the show and get their favourites back! The show, that will be shooting its last episode on October 5th ,is slotted to return after a hiatus of 3 months with a new script, a new storyline but with the same cast in an all new avtaar! Na Bole Tum started out as a story of a single mother of two kids, played by Aakansha Singh who tries to get through life by putting on a brave face as a widow, housewife and a dutiful daughter in law; and Mohan portrayed by Kunal Karan Kapoor as a carefree young bachelor. When fate entwined their paths, love happened in an unusual situation. Leading to circumstances, the two get married and are about to lead a happy life when fate throws a twist and Megha gets paralyzed.

This is the first time that a show on COLORS will be returning with a second season. Commenting on the new season, Prashaant Bhatt, Weekday Programming Head, COLORS, said, “When the news of Na Bole Tum going off air was communicated, we received calls from our fans asking us to revive the show. As the track for Na Bole Tum was poised to end at this juncture, we decided to use this popularity and connect of the characters to provide the audiences with a new season of the show. And that’s all he met Vivek and chatted and discussed with him all the aspect of the role and concluded to be working on the project. Nevertheless, on the first shoot Bobby found himself very uncomfortable to get intimate with Vivek and sooner he discovered vivek was also feeling the same as he was.

“Doing such roles is a challenge for me and I am happy I have done it. I think carrying one role of being a hunk, super power man, a romantic guy for so long doesn’t carve your talent. I will always play different roles in my career to discover how much I am talented…”

Starting his career with Shyam Benegal and with some commercial film superstars like Ajay Devgan and Neil Nitin frame by frame in films like ‘Halla Bol’ and ‘Aa Dekhen Zaara’and many others from commercial to parallel cinema but he successes to carve his own distinct identity in films! War veterans, ready to run

The Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2012 will have war disabled personnel of the Indian Army participating in the run. One such personnel is Major General Ian Cardozo who will lead the group of war disabled officers and soldiers in the AIrtel Delhi Half Marathon.

Major General Ian Cardozo, lost his left leg during the 1971 India-Pakistan War, and sports an artificial leg. Cardozo, along with other soldiers from the War Wounded Organization will participate in the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon for the second time. All the soldiers will be participating in the mainstream category and not in the disabled one with a view to make people aware of the efforts taken by the armed forces to protect the country.

Established in 2002, the Delhi based foundation has helped war wounded personnel’s to live a comfortable living. Over 30000 war-wounded soldiers across India are surviving on meager pensions. The war wounded foundation seeks to make them financially independent through various mainstream jobs. Col Gulshan Kumar, 67 said “The main aim is to ensure that warwounded personnel become productive citizens by participating in the economic development of the Nation. At the same time, they must be also able to supplement their pension, including disability pension”

Similarly Devendra Pal Singh, a retired soldier who lost his leg in Kargil War will also be participating in Airtel Delhi Half Marathon, which is scheduled on 30th September. He is referred to as India’s version of the “Blade Runner”. Major Devendra’s journey from being a soldier during the Kargil War to a Marathon Runner has been highly inspiring.

Ashish Roy who served the Indian Air Force for 21 years is the first man from India to run 100 marathons. He ran his first marathon at the age of 52. He took to long distance running after her retired from Indian Air Force where he served as a cardiologist for 21 years. For some running marathons is just another way, but for Dr Roy it is a romance with life. Roy currently has completed over 100 marathons and doesn’t want to stop just yet. His participation in the Airtel Delhi half Marathon will surely encourage a lot more people to come and run the run.

“We wanted to cast a deaf actress to play the character of Becky,” Paul Anderson

The scariest thing of our childhood is the devil we think who rests under our cots. The thought seems spine chilling even now. But if we are to give a fight to zombies or so much as face them for reel? Sounds dreadful, isn’t it? Yet, 11 year old Aryana Engineer, who is hearing impaired in real life, has accomplished the feat.

Resident Evil-Retribution, the Sony Pictures flick which releases on 28th September, the previous films of which has engaged the audience with its action, speed and zombies, now introduces a new character of Becky, a young deaf girl who forges a strong bond with Alice. The character of Becky was a Deaf character and the film makers wanted to cast a deaf girl. Says Paul Anderson, the director of the film, “We wanted to cast a deaf actress to play her, even though that meant that Milla had to learn sign language to be able to communicate with her in the film. Aryana had only done one movie before this, but she really achieved a lot. She grew as an actress and delivered a terrific performance.”

Procam International announces detailed arrangements for Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2012

New Delhi, September 26, 2012: Procam International, promoters of the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon, unveiled the Route Map for the event and outlined the medical facilities and other arrangements that will be put in place for the 31,746 participants expected to run on race day in a media conference at the J L N Stadium on Wednesday. Present on the occasion was Dr Anurag Krishna, Medical Director of the Race, Race Director Hugh Jones and Vivek B Singh, Jt. Managing Director of Procam International.

Keeping in mind the possibility of the weather being hot on September 30, is has been decided to start all the races earlier. “This year it will be warmer but it is the best time one could pick depending upon the adapted strategy and overall performance,” said Hugh Jones.

Medical Partner Max Healthcare will ensure that every participant has a safe a healthy run and have made elaborate arrangements for the same. “There will two Base Stations, including one especially for Senior Citizens, and six medical stations along the route. Seven fully equipped ambulances will be pressed into service and manning these will be 75 doctors, 50 physiotherapists and 100 plus nurses & paramedics,” stated Medical Director Anurag Krishna.

Apart from that, there will be seven doctors patrolling by two-wheelers the race route. “All the staff are well-trained and equipped. We have gave them information and training on communication and quick action,” Krishna added.

There will be one Base Camp at the Start and Finish of the Half Marathon and the Great Delhi Run, which will have between 50 to 60 beds, 1400 litres of water, 300 kgs of ice in cube form, Gatorade, 15 tables with drapes, first aid kits, medicines, relief sprays etc.

The second base camp will be at the Start/Finish of the Senior Citizens’ Run and will have around 12 beds with all of the above.

Each of the six medical stations along the route will have 300 litres of water, 150ks of ice, Gatorade, 2 tables with drapes, first aid kits, relief sprays etc.

To keep all participants sufficiently hydrated there will be 14 water stations along the route, from where around 80,000 litres of water will be distributed. These water stations will also distribute around 11,000 sachets of Gatorade to the participants. There will also be three orange stations from where oranges will be distributed, besides four cool sponge stations.

Besides these arrangements, there would be nearly sufficient Law & Order and Traffic Police on Race Day to prevent any untoward incidents. Their efforts would be supplemented by 800 private security guards and around 1000 volunteers.

Arrangements have been made for a total of 100 Porta Pottys, from which 72 will be distributed in the holding areas at the J L N Stadium, while 28 will be stationed along the route.

Procam International has always ensured that thorough cleanup drives are conducted immediately after the event to restore the roads to the condition they were in prior to the event.

This year Procam International has appointed Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA), who specialise in waste management, to undertake this task.

All the waste from 21 km route will be collected and brought to the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, where it will be segregated into dry and wet waste. The same will then be sent to the recycling plants.

All types of Plastic waste and PET bottles will be recycled into plastic granules, while paper waste of all kind will be recycled at the Muzaffarnagar Paper Mill.

There will be a deferred live telecast of the event between 7.30 am and 11.00 am on Star Plus and Doordarshan.

The Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2012 for Elite men will start at 6.30 am, followed by the Half Marathon for Elite women at 6.35 am. The Open Half Marathon will start at 6.40 am, followed by the Wheelchair Event at 7.30am, the Senior Citizens’ Run at 7.35 am and the Great Delhi Run at 8.45 am.
