Chennai, November 15, 2012: Thanks to the continued support of Government of Tamil Nadu and the other longstanding Sponsors, the Aircel Chennai Open, India and South Asia’s only ATP World Tour tennis event is back, promising to usher in another week of scintillating tennis action, featuring some of the finest players in the world. The tournament is scheduled to take place at Chennai’s SDAT Tennis Stadium from December 31, 2012 to January 6, 2013.

Stepping into the 18th edition of the event, the Aircel Chennai Open 2013 has confirmed participation from two players from the Top 10; World No. 6, Tomas Berdych and World No. 9 Janko Tipsarevic

This will be 26-year-old Tomas Berdych’s second visit to the tournament. He kicked off 2012 with a bang after winning the Hopman Cup for the Czech Republic with compatriot Petra Kvitová. The Czech continued his top form as he reached his career best at The US Open Championships 2012, where he stalled the progress of World No. 1 Roger Federer, defeating him 7-6(1), 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 to enter the quarter-finals. In September 2012, Berdych also led the Czech team to victory to set up a face-off against Spain in the Davis Cup Final later this year.

The sportsman further displayed his prowess in the game by seizing his second ATP title of 2012 by rallying to beat top-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the Stockholm Open final progressing to play at the upcoming Barclays ATP World Tour Finals. This will be his third consecutive appearance at the season finale. Berdych, who had kept his hopes of qualification alive with victory over Tsonga lost to Djokovic and ended his run at the finals.

Janko, who will open his new season at the Aircel Chennai Open for the fifth successive year, led his country to a Davis Cup first round win over Sweden early this year. During the spring European clay swing, he compiled a 15-5 record, highlighted by a Semi final run at ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Madrid. He beat World No. 1 Novak Djokovic 7-6(2), 6-3 in the quarterfinals, before losing to Federer 6-2, 6-3 in a semi final encounter.

The right-hander then reached the Barcelona quarterfinals losing to Nadal but helped Serbia win the ATP World Tour Team Championship title at Dusseldorf. He captured his first ATP World Tour clay-court title with a hard-fought 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 victory over second seed Juan Monaco.

Tipsarevic had a perfect close to the season by qualifying for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals. Unfortunately his run was halted by World No. 6 Juan Del Porto in the second match.

2 nights in soul valley

Director Harish Sharma’s horror flick “2 Nights in Soul Valley” is ready to be released on 28th December 2012. The movie will terrify the audience without showing slaughter and/or ghostly presence, which are a common substance of a supernatural suspense thriller. PRO turned film director said that the movie will redefine the notion of horror and suspense.

Writer and director Harish Sharma has made the movie on a real incident occurred in Pithoragarh, a village located in Uttarakhand. According to Sharma, “Sometimes the real life incidents are more thrilling than reel ones. And the movie 2 Nights in soul valley will present one such incident.” The film will present a spine chilling story never before seen by the viewers.

This is a story of a group of five friends who go to the soul valley for their vacations. During their journey throughout the group encounters many undesirable incidents. The soul valley is infamously famous for such undesirable happenings and therefore my story is portrayal of an attempt the group makes to save their selves from the negative souls that haunt the soul valley.

Besides, the viewers will also witness the scenic beauty of the Pithoragarh. The film has been partly shot in the beautiful mountainous area of Pithoragarh and partly shot in Morni Hills near Chandigarh.

The ‘office-office’ and film ‘Krish’ fame Hemant Pandey will share the screen with the debutants Sumeet Sharma, Akshi, Gaurav Shah, Meenakshi, Suumit Sharrma and England based singer-actress Milli Moonstone.

The movie produced under the banner of Pinta and Dehal Production is written and directed by Harish Sharma. The screenplay and dialogues are written by Meenakshi Sharma and Suman Prasad. Kajal Aggarwal on her Olympic Inspiration – Mary Kom

November 16, 2012 – Actress Kajal Aggarwal who has been busy shooting back to back for her films lined up down south recently wrapped up her shoot for Thuppakki opposite Vijay. Thuppakki released on November 9th this year. Kajal Aggarwal who has for the most part of her career played the role of the sweet docile girl next door is very excited about her role in Thuppakki where she plays Boxer Nisha.

When asked more about her role, Kajal adds “In Thuppakki I play the role of Nisha who is this strong willed, impulsive girl and it is very different from the roles I have done previously. In fact when it came to the boxing sequences I watched a lot of Mary Kom’s matches. She really inspired me and initially I started watching her matches to just understand and learn her body language but later I was totally gripped and I was following her bouts at the 2012 Olympics.”

A source from the set added that, “The role of Nisha was quite challenging for Kajal but she really managed to pull it off well. Kajal was extremely happy that she was given the opportunity to play the role of a boxer. She enjoyed playing the role of a boxer and really learned a lot and probably explored the athlete in her that she thought was nonexistent!”
