Promoting his movie, ‘Singh Saab’, Sunny Deol will be seen in this weekend’s episode of Dance India Dance 4…

Sunny Deol with Mithun Da on the sets of DID 4.jpgSunny Deol, who has been the media’s favorite punching bag for being a non-dancer, recently visited the sets of India’s biggest dance reality show Dance India Dance to promote his upcoming movie, Singh Saab the Great and was floored and left speechless by the dancing talent he witnessed on the show.

Talking about the level of dancing on Dance India Dance, Sunny Deol said, “Dance India Dance is, doubtlessly, a great platform for dancers to showcase their talent. With the kind of performances I have seen today, I think in the next season, even I would need to give an audition in order to sit here as a celebrity judge. I feel blessed to be seated amongst the judges and judging such this super-talented lot of dancers.”

Shaking a leg with the contestants and Mithun Da, Sunny was seen having a blast on the sets. Playing pranks with everybody on the set, Sunny was seen making the judges, Jay and all the males contestants do push-ups on the sets. While everybody else seemed to be doing their push-ups with utmost diligence, Jay fell over Mudassar while doing push-ups. While leaving, Sunny was approached by a contestant – Swarali, who requested him to dance with her on a romantic number. Meeting Sunny after a long time, Shruti told Dada that it was Sunny Deol who had given elder sis Vaibhavi Merchant her first break as a choreographer in the industry. Joining Sunny to promote the movie, was the Director of Singh Saab the Great, Mr. Anil Sharma.

Meeting his old friends and watching amazing talent, Sunny Deol was in great spirits when he bid adieu to the Dance India Dance team. Not just Sunny, but the entire DID family was equally appreciative of Sunny paaji visiting the sets. The audiences are surely in for a treat with all the fun and masti packed in this weekend’s episode.

Excerpts of Saif Ali Khan & Tigmanshu Dhulia on Anupama Chopra’s show The Front Row, 22nd Nov @ 8:30 pm
> Anupama: I saw an interview that you and Kareena did before marriage in which you talked about making a commitment that there won’t be any kissing onscreen for either of you. Are there any other rules as actors that you’ve imposed on each other?
> SAK: No. I wouldn’t even say that’s in place. I don’t think it’s a function of being in a relationship. I have done films like ‘Salaam Namaste’ a long time ago. I feel in India it is not required in our films to have kissing scenes. I don’t think it’s required to be overly sexual. It doesn’t suit us. It doesn’t work onscreen. Nobody looks comfortable doing it. And slowly, slowly reports filter through that when somebody has tried to be a little risqué, that people don’t seem to like it. I think the kind of cinema we have, we are a hypocritical culture. You can talk about things, you can see Hollywood movies, but if a kiss or a lovemaking scene is presented in a way that doesn’t make you uncomfortable, it’s much easier for everybody to watch. I really believe that and I would not like to kiss onscreen because I think it’s not required. It’s not done well enough. And there are few times onscreen that a kiss is warranted and when it is, it should be done in a way that it means everything. But our culture is about not kissing in public. We don’t show affection in public. You’re not meant to be kissing in the car. It’s illegal apparently. Policewaalas will come knock on the glass, right? So I think culturally, it doesn’t work. And there’s no need for it.

– Ends –

Notes to editor

More about Exchange Student Zero:

300 super-powered cards. Two different worlds. One crazy adventure. Exchange Student Zero (13×22’) is a series where fantasy becomes reality, when the dark forces from a tactical anime card game are unleashed on our world. The good news? The most powerful card in the deck, Hiro, is on our side. The bad news? Two 12-year-old boys are running the show! Their attempts to explain away Hiro as an exchange student are bizarrely successful – with the adults at least – despite the havoc he creates. Civilization as we know it might be teetering on the edge but rest assured our heroes are on the case… as long as they can fit it in between bin duty, an errant older sister and the eternal quest for a date.

More about Monster Beach:

Monster Beach (1×70’). An ordinary summer holiday gets complicated when two kids – Jan and her brother Dean – are packed off to stay with their drop-out uncle, Woody. It should be paradise: a secluded island, great waves and a non-attentive adult in charge. What could be better? But why is this place so deserted? Why has the town been overrun by the jungle and what are those strange noises coming from the beach? The terrible truth is revealed when it turns out the locals are in fact monsters – and they don’t take kindly to tourists. Well not at first anyway. The arrival of a rampaging property developer changes all that, when sibling rivalry and genetic differences are swept aside. Everyone bands together to save the strange little place they’ve all decided to call home. Monster Beach is a Bogan Entertainment Solutions production in conjunction with Cartoon Network.

Dutch Consulate General and Brand Dialogue showcase the art of Design & Branding

-Bring together their 1st seminar in India to present celebrated Dutch design solutions for innovating India-

Mumbai, November 21, 2013: Dutch brand communications consultancy Brand Dialogue collaborates with the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Mumbai for a unique Design & Branding seminar. This joint initiative, which emphasizes a new vision targeting design and branding solutions for India, was held on Nov 19 in Mumbai.

Brand Dialogue, which recently announced its entry into the Indian market, is being graciously accepted by Indian companies for its international approach. The Brand Dialogue seminar is offered in collaboration with four renowned Dutch creative agencies, Fabrique, Globrands, THEY and Yellow Dress Retail. Speaking about the seminar, CEO & Founder of Brand Dialogue, Willem Woudenberg, said: “With the highly competitive scenario in the market today, it becomes crucial for brands to showcase their exclusivity and I believe design and branding play an eminent role here. Companies investing in design and branding invest in their future, are more innovative, develop stronger client relations and will make more profit”.

The Dutch Consulate General emphasizes that India offers a wide variety of opportunities. This is reflected in a decades-long tradition of bilateral trade between both countries; The Netherlands is currently the 4th largest investor in India, India is the 5th largest investor in The Netherlands. The Netherlands is the 4th most innovative country in the world and through its business partnerships over the years, Dutch expertise has been introduced in many sectors of the Indian economy. Whereas design and branding in The Netherlands is widely developed and has become key to corporate success, the Indian creative sector leaves room for exploitation. The Design & Branding seminar offers the principles that make brands effective today and creates awareness of how to circumvent pitfalls. Insights from experts reveal how to bridge the gap between understanding the basics of branding and the actual execution.

Mr. Woudenberg was supported by a team of panelists, comprising of Mr. Vishal Jhunjhunwala, Head Corporate Brand TATA-TCS, Mr. Shireesh Joshi, COO Strategic Marketing Group at Godrej and Mr. Manish Agarwal, CEO Reliance Entertainment (Digital).

Mr. Shireesh Joshi, COO Strategic Marketing Group at Godrej, said: “Indian brands are increasingly competing internationally, with international competitors domestically, and seeking to win consumers whose sensibilities are being increasingly trained by international exposure. There is a need to learn from and appropriately adopt international design imagination in their products and presence. Dutch design firms will have a role to play not just in such creation but building the culture and discipline of executing great design to delight consumers.”

The evening was wrapped up by workshop sessions by the four Dutch creative agencies associated with Brand Dialogue on an appealing topic- ‘How branding (really) works’. Brand Dialogue’s journey in India is supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Dutch Consulate General in Mumbai. With its specialized agencies, Brand Dialogue holds to its credit, association with clients like Philips, Delhi Airport, Heineken, Metro, Business World, DSM, Hema and Spar, among others.
