Akshay Kumar & Ashvini Yardi Unveil Lead Stars & Trailer for their Second Hindi Film Venture ‘Fugly’

Monday, 7th April 2014: Bollywood supremo Akshay Kumar and partner Ashvini Yardi today exclusively launched the trailer for their forthcoming film FUGLY, which is the latest big-screen initiative from their production company Grazing Goat Pictures. The event took place at the state-of-the-art Reliance Digital Express store in Prabhadevi, amidst a throng of eminent Indian media.

The day’s activity began with media arrivals, who were in for a treat as they playfully enjoyed with specially staged props from the film, including the quirky toilet pot and the ‘Fugly mirrors’. The media were also encouraged to take an fugly ‘selfie’ (fuglies) with the props as well as be a part of the poster, in a unique souvenir opportunity.

Proceedings then turned to the grand arrival of superstar actor-producer Akshay Kumar who displayed his sizable charm and personality, as he met with journalists to exclusively promote Fugly’s cutting-edge trailer. Bollywood’s premier action man was introduced on stage, before going into the audience for a fun, interactive segment, whereby he asked the media what ‘Fugly’ meant to them. Not just that he also he had some other fun interaction with the media with his witty sense of humour.

The media were then treated to the entry of the film’s talented director with a quirky humour, Kabir Sadanand, versatile actor Jimmy Sheirgill and Grazing Goat Pictures’ mastermind Ashvini Yardi onto the stage. Another highlight of the evening was when Ashvini, Akshay, Kabir and Jimmy each introduced the film’s four Bollywood debutant stars in a unique style – Mohit Marwah, Boxer Vijender Singh, Kiara Advani and Arfi Lamba.

Akshay Kumar then gave a quick insight into the plot of the film to the media and showcased the film’s stylish poster with a magic trick, much to the delight of the audience.

The trailer has already received a roaring applause from various Bollywood Celebrities and veteran media. Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan, tweeted his comments on the trailer saying “Loved the trailer of @FuglyTheFilm well done @Kabirsadanand and @AshviniYardi and all the best.”

Proceedings concluded with an interactive session between the stars and the media, followed by a photo opportunity with the stars.

Speaking about the event, Akshay Kumar said: ‘I am so thrilled to have been here today. It is a great moment for Ashvini and I and all those involved in the Fugly project.’

Ashvini Yardi said: ‘Fugly is a film that is very close to all of our hearts. It is a vibrant, youth centric entertainer it is funny and witty and packs a major punch. Pune, April 7, 2013: Olacabs, India’s largest cab network today announced its partnership with Mahindra & Mahindra to offer cars to drivers and operators in the city of Pune at discounted prices and attractive finance options.The partnership was announced at Hotel Le Meridian where both the companies jointly organised ‘Driver Mela’, aninitiative to sensitize the drivers in the city about the opportunities in the cab space. The initiativesaw participation from 530 drivers from the city. Over 43 cars were booked on the spotand another 76 who have expressed interest in the offer, making this Pune’s largest driver mela. The cars that were booked were XYLO in the XUV category, Verito in the sedan category and Vibe in the compact car category. Financial partners Canara Bank and Cholamandalam DBS found 127 drivers eligible for a car loan based on the given documentation. This was the largest number of sign ups for Mahindra & Mahindra in a single day, under one roof.

As per the partnership, a driver who wanted to be a part of the Ola platform could buy a new car at a down payment of just Rs 39,900 and get a discount of uptoRs 60,000 on the market price. If any driver visiting the Mela was unable to pay the down payment amount, he had the option to pay just Rs 5000 and fulfil all the other formalities during the course of the week.

Well-known Kathak dancer, actress and model Ranjana Bhattacharya shot with designer label brand Randell Gomes recently for a pret range as well as a hand-embroidered and embellished sari and Anarkali collection. The collection will be launched from his boutique in Margao in South Goa. Along with Ranjana Bhattacharya, Randell Gomes has shot with several known faces this season including Nancy Singh, Simona Roy, Tara Singh, Natasha Sikka, Arshi Khan, Nisha Yadav and a few other known models. Some of these images were shot by well-known bollywood photographer Raju Asrani.

Goan-UK designer Raymond Fernandez shoots with model Tara Pallavi Singh

UK and Mumbai-based Goa-born fashion designer Raymond Fernandez recently shot with model and actress Tara Pallavi Singh for his new Indo-Western Pret and Indian ethnic Summer Collection 2014. The collection consists of over 200 outfits like kurtis, one piece dresses, harem pants, party tops, designer skirts and short kurtis. The on-location shoot was executed by bollywood and fashion photographers Raju Asrani and Samuel Rio.

Almost 200 models were auditioned in Mumbai, Goa and Delhi and finally 5 models were selected who successfully qualified for the designers requirements and made it to the prestigious shoot for the enviable collection.

Model and actress Tara Pallavi Singh who originally hails from Bikaner in Rajasthan has done hundreds of fashion shows in Delhi, Jaipur, Kolkatta and Lucknow.  She is an established model in North India and has also done many events abroad as well.

The theme and concept of designer Raymond Fernandez’ Indo-Western Pret and Indian ethnic Summer Collection 2014 is “Trendy Fashion for Indian Women of every size and shape”. India’s largest research study on Most Trusted Educational Institutes to help parents and students make the right choices

INDIA, April 07, 2014: TRA, formerly known as the Trust Research Advisory, India’s leading Actionable Insights Company has rolled out the largest study on India’s Most Trusted Educational Institutes(MTEI) with an aim to offer novel insights for parents and students to make informed choices for holistic education.

This novel, first-of-a-kind, study by TRA will come in handy to both parents and students seeking inclusive education in India to cut through the clutter when almost every institute promises superlative results and weigh in the options through a neutral, unbiased lens.

Over the past decade, India has witnessed a phenomenal growth in the education sector buoyed by the sheer number of education institutes, a service driven economy, and favorable demographics. While this has made India a prime market for investment in the training and education with a projected growth of Rs 602,410 crore in 2015, concerns too are on the rise on the quality education, and learning outcomes.

With an aim to address such concerns and showcase the best, TRA has undertaken the largest ever paper and pencil interview (PAPI) survey for educational institutes across 40 cities in India, with 8,000 respondents. The study will use a proprietary Trust Matrix comprising 61 brand intangibles that will assign a trust score to the each of the participative institutes in the survey.

“While the right education can change millions of lives, and catapult the Indian economy to agile growth, lack of informed choice on educational institutes often makes it tough for parents and students to make the right choices, more so, when every educational institute claims itself to be the best,”said N Chandramouli, CEO, Trust Research Advisory.

According to research, India’s demographic growth, coupled with an average GDP annual growth of 8% over the last decade, demand for higher education alone will swell to over 500 million people in the next ten years. India’s education system, originally designed to serve the elite, will now have to serve the people. Innovation and change are required and understanding that change will be essential.

“Academic performance isn’t an effective measure while judging an institution, instead, what India needs is new scale that puts the highlights on intangibles of hybrid knowledgethat stimulates creativity, innovation, and leadership to bring out the brilliance in the students, and equipping them with future-ready skills,” added Chandramouli.

TRA, the publisher of The Brand Trust Report and India’s Most Attractive Brands started the research fieldwork for this unique MTEI study in January 2014 and the report now is close to its completion.
