Times Music & WWF India release “Sounds of Harmony”, a special music compile for Earth Hour 2014

The Earth Hour initiative by the World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF) that encourages individuals and businesses across the world to switch off their non-essential lights for one hour to raise awareness for the planet has created a global impact over the last 7 years.

This year, Times Music, will be releasing a specially created music compilation, Sounds of Harmony,  in support of the Earth Hour and WWF-India.  The 5 tracks on the compile represent each of the 5 great elements of nature, but equally great are the artists behind these compositions.  With names like Ustad Zakir Hussain, Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Vikku Vinayakram & Pt. Bhavani Shankar to name a few, one couldn’t ask for a more powerful line-up for such a powerful cause. The album will be available  in India across digital download & streaming portals like iTunes, Gaana, Nokia MixRadio and more. Part of the proceeds from song sales of the Earth Hour compile will go to WWF-India for their Earth Hour initiatives.

Alt Entertainment’s Ragini MMS-2, featuring Sunny Leone in the lead, took a thunderous opening at the domestic box office.

In its opening weekend, the HORREX (Horror & Sex) feature, produced on a modest budget, netted Rs. 24.50 cr. (Fri – 8.43 cr, Sat – 7.29 cr, Sun – 8.78 cr.) making it the third biggest opener of 2014.

The opening was even bigger than some of the films with a bigger budget and cast, released earlier this year.

Despite important cricket matches on Friday and Sunday, the film maintained its steam and strong word of mouth in the multiplexes and single screens alike.

Jackky Bhagnani: ‘Youngistaan is drastically different from other films about politics’

Actor Jackky Bhagnani who will next be seen playing a young Prime Minister in ‘Youngistaan’, a love story set against the backdrop of politics ,can’t wait to see how audiences react to this political entertainer with a twist, given its hugely contemporary approach.

Talking about the film, Bhagnani said, “When you think about a story on the Prime Minister, you will think about a person in the age group of 50 to 60 years. However, in this story, you will see a young guy and also see a young prime minister in a live-in relationship, which is something that has never been shown or spoken off before. Things like these make Youngistaan drastically different from other films.”


Sajid Nadiadwala’s film Heropanti, starring Tiger Shroff has been pushed from May 16 to May 23.

Sajid Nadiadwala says, “We had initially planned to release the film on May 16, but since it is a counting day, we have decided to push the film ahead to May 23. We have also requested Karan Johar to release his film Ungli on another day. He has gracefully agreed to do the same, just so that Tiger’s film gets a solo release.”

Tiger Shroff, who is the biggest launch of this year, is all set to start his career in the film industry with Heropanti.

Harman Baweja & Ayesha Khanna sizzle in Dishkiyaoon.

The trailer of Eros International & ESM’s Dishkiyaoon created a stir on the social media front ever since it launched online ,courtesy some high-octane action ,power-packed dialogues and of course some sizzling chemistry between the leads – Harman Baweja and Ayesha Khanna, who makes her big Bollywood debut with the film.

The stylist turned actress who was discovered by producer Shilpa Shetty Kundra was initially nervous, given that the film marks her acting debut, however Harman Baweja guided the actress through the scenes and made it a smooth process shooting for the film.

Says a source, “ The scenes Harman and Ayesha share are not your typical run-of-the-mill romantic scenes . The two got along like a house on fire and the comfort they share off screen helped them deliver convincing performances on-screen, oozing of sensuality”.

All praise for Harman says Ayesha Khanna, ” I would take a lot of advice from Harman.He was extremely sweet and patient with me and never once made me feel like I was a newcomer.It was great working with him and I did learn a lot from him and that shows on-screen”.

Rohit helps Karanvir overcome fears!

KICK brings Delhi to a halt

The people of Delhi had the rare opportunity of seeing the superstar Salman Khan in the city recently. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala, as he embarks on his directorial journey with Kick, was spotted shooting action sequences for the film with Salman Khan and Randeep Hooda. The crowd in the capital went bonkers as the actors were shooting on the busy roads of Chandani Chowk and places around.

A unit source confirms, “The sight was crazy. It was difficult to manage such a massive crowd. They kept screaming the film’s name and cheering loudly for Salman, as he waved back at them. It appeared as if the entire city was there.”

The crowd stood for over 22- hours, at a stretch, in order to watch the film’s shoot. Jacqueline Fernandez, who stars opposite Salman was also seen there. The actress posted few images from the location, posing alongside Salman and Sajid on a social networking site, creating a lot of buzz. The trio was snapped while taking a ride on a rookie – a car cum bike, customized and specially made for Salman’s character for the film.

While shooting the scene, Salman was seen wearing a black eye mask that has created ripples amongst the star’s fans. This new look of the actor is said to be stylized by Salman himself. The source close to the unit said that the actor finalized on this piece, himself, as he personally selected the fabric and the look.

Slated to release this Eid, Kick will mark the directorial debut of Sajid Nadiadwala. The crew is said to be heading to the exotic locations of Poland for their next schedule.

Amitabh Bachchan showcases Bhoothnath Returns new song

Amitabh Bachchan showcased the new song from Bhoothnath Returns ‘Party with the Bhoothnath’ in Mumbai today at Reliance Digital Xpress amongst media and fans. To join the veteran actor were his co-star Parth Bhalerao, Bhushan Kumar (T-Series), Abhay Chopra, Renu Ravi Chopra, Kapil Chopra (B R Studios) and Nitesh Tiwari (director) were also present at the event.

Mr Bachchan and Parth spoke about their experience on working on this song. Shot on a very large scale in Panvel, the location was converted into Bhoothworld for the video shoot. The set was recreated into a spooky yet elegant bhoot bangla. Amitabh is seen in a very cool, easy going avatar whereas Yo Yo Honey Singh is seen with dracula drapes rapping in the party with Bhoothnath and kids. . Mr. Bachchan who met the singer and composer of this song, Yo Yo Honey Singh, during his music sessions enjoyed dancing with him in the music video. Parth who is a huge fan of Yo Yo Honey Singh was extremely elated to share screen with both his superstars – Amitabh Bachchan and Yo Yo Honey Singh. This party song is what Mr. Bachchan calls as the ‘after party ke baad wali party ka song’.

Not many people know that Shraddha Kapoor is an adventure sports freak, and that she loves the water especially. The latest we’ve heard is that she has been approached by a Kochi-based scuba divers’ association to be the face of their upcoming campaign.

A source close to Shraddha reveals, “Shraddha is a trained and certified scuba diver. And she is extremely fond of adventure sports. She loves to go scuba diving when she gets the time for a holiday. Recently, she got a chance to go diving for an underwater sequence for her upcoming film with Sidharth Malhotra in her Mauritius shooting schedule.”

The insider adds that the association is very keen to have the Aashiqui 2 (2013) actor endorse their new campaign. “She loves sports and has an instant youth connect. That’s why the association wants her to join the initiative,” says the source.

When contacted, Shraddha’s spokesperson says, “The association has got in touch with Shraddha’s team asking her to be a part of the campaign.”

After loosing his mother two years back on 25th march, Arjun will be returning to mumbai for her second death anniversary from agra. Arjun has kept his mothers room exactly the same way after she left which includes the book 2 states on her book shelf even today which she had read.
While during her sickness she did mention to arjun that she would love to see him do a romcom. Arjun would have loved it if his mother would be alive to see him not only do a romcom but a romcom based on her favourite book.
Even though not physically present today, Arjun feels her presence within him every single moment.


Debutante Mishti mobbed by fans

People today have an indifferent attitude towards actors when they see them on streets, going about their day-to-day activities. But this was surely not the case for Kaanchi’s leading lady, the beautiful and talented debutante Mishti. She was recently mobbed by fans at the Hard Rock Cafe.

On spotting her, fans went crazy screaming her name and asking her for autographs. They were shouting, calling her Kaanchi, her character’s name in the Subhash Ghai film. Security had to be called to keep the crowd in control.

Mishti’s close friend, who was present at the venue with her, said, “Mishti was overwhelmed at first, looking at everyone who had gathered to catch a glimpse of her, but regained her composure soon after. She reciprocated their love and got out to meet her fans.”

She fulfilled fan requests with autographs, pictures and also some hugs and handshakes. Her happiness knew no bounds, seeing the enthusiasm and affection of her fans towards her and the movie ‘Kaanchi’. As she exited the venue, she asked her fans to keep spreading the love and watch her movie when it releases.

Saidah Jules Devoto on the sets of JAL

Saidah Jules debuts in Bollywood with ‘JAL’. She seemed very excited about the same. The movie focuses on the water problems in Kutch region of Gujarat. Directed by Girish Malik, they shot in the desert and the locations were completely isolated with no one around except for a few tribes. There was this boy who would turn up on the sets everyday just to look at Saidah.

According to the sources, the boy would come on the sets early along with the crew. He would sit with them for hours and just admire Saidah. At first she became very conscious but, after a few days, she was okay with it. He didn’t prove to be a menace. And she understands that they don’t get a chance to see foreigners that often. It must have been a visual treat for him. All the locals were excited to see her amidst them. She had a good experience shooting in Kutch. The movie is about a dowser who finds ground water in the desert for people.

The movie is aesthetically shot for its viewers and also portraits the enduring beauty of Rann of Katch. The film also stars Purab Kohli, Tanishttha Chateerjee, Kirti Kulhari.

India, March 20, 2014 – The Global Partnership to End Violence Against Women, a collaboration of Vital Voices Global Partnership, the Avon Foundation for Women and the U.S. Department of State, today presented a new initiative to address gender-based violence: the Gender-Based Violence Emergency Response and Protection Initiative.

In making the announcement, Vital Voices CEO Alyse Nelson said, “we are delighted to be part of this new initiative that leverages the knowledge and expertise of our global women leaders to rapidly and effectively identify and respond to the immediate needs of victims. From providing legal services to women who have suffered domestic violence, to creating viable employment opportunities for survivors of human trafficking these leaders know their communities and they have designed solutions that restore freedom and dignity. They are bringing us closer to a world free of violence.”

The Gender-Based Violence Emergency Response and Protection Initiative is a first-of-its-kind global program dedicated to assisting victims of extreme forms of gender-based violence and harmful traditional practices around the world. The Initiative takes comprehensive steps to eradicate domestic violence, sexual assault, honor crimes and other forms of gender based violence by providing critical support to survivors.  By providing short-term emergency grants to cover medical care, emergency shelter, legal assistance, and other related costs, the program allows victims in urgent situations to access life-saving services.

“Gender-based violence is a global epidemic and an affront to humanity,” said Uzra Zeya, Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor.
