A theft took place a few months ago at Illuminati Films where over 11 air conditioners were robbed and sold by 2 members of the office staff i.e Subhash Sahu, a resident of Grant Road, and Shamin Solanki, a resident of Juhu .While the FIR was lodged at the Khar police station,Saif has now decided to take back the case filed against the employees as he does not want to spoil their lives.

Says a source, “They have suffered the loss of losing the a/c’s and now since  nothing can be done about it he has forgiven them and has taken one of them back since the employee in question is the sole earning member of his family.In a royal act of kindness the Pautaudi didn’t want the two to suffer behind jail bars.”

Says the employee (Subhash Sahu) who is currently working with Saif, ” I called up the office again and convinced them about my innocence, Saif sir asked me to resume work as he knew that I was the sole earning member of my family and that my father is unwell at  present. I am quite grateful to Saif sir for this kind gesture”.

In the movie ‘NOAH’, the Ark forms the core of the movie. Special attention was given to the formation of the Ark. Talking about the creation of the Ark, Director Darren Aronofsky said, “It basically describes a box. It wasn’t like Noah was trying to take the ship anywhere. It just, basically, has to survive the flood.”

Russell Crowe, who portrays Noah in the film, looks completely in awe of the massive structure. He speaks about how such things are seen in pictures, but to see it right there, is an experience in itself.

Emma Watson, who plays the role of Noah’s daughter in film, says, “I am very fortunate to have worked on films with big budgets and amazing sets, but I still think that what Darren has pulled off is quite incredible and it feels very once in a lifetime, that I’ll stand on a whole, physical Ark.”

The film consists of a stellar cast, comprising of Academy Award winners, Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly as Noah and his wife, Naameh, respectively. It also features Oscar award winner Anthony Hopkins and Emma Watson who starred in the ‘Harry Potter’ saga. The film features Noah, who has visions about a flood and takes measures to protect his family. In a world ravaged by sin, Noah is given a task, to build an Ark to save the animals from the devastating flood.

Presented by Paramount Pictures, the film is scheduled for release on the 28th of March. The film will be released by Viacom18 Motion Pictures in India.

Kiwi Musician Mikey McCleary re-invents ‘Aaj ki raat koi aane ko hai’

Mumbai based this Kiwi Musician, Mikey McCleary, re-invents the most beautiful songs from 50s and 70s Bollywood era to create some phenomenal tracks like Khoya Khoya Chand from Shaitan, Tum Jo Mil Gaye Ho from the Coke “invisible bottle” TV ad, recently at Sitara studio in Mumbai completed shooting his music video for the track ‘Aaj ki raat koi aane ko hai’ for his upcoming 3rd album.

Kiwi musician Mikey McCleary’s band, The Bartender, revamps Classic Bollywood music with their own personal twist of seductive jazzy style. The Bartender’s first album was ‘Classic Bollywood, Shaken not Stirred’ and second album was ‘B Seventy’ was created in honour of Amitabh Bachchan and was released as a dedication to him on his 70th birthday. They have completed shooting their music video for the track ‘Aaj ki raat koi aane ko hai’ for their upcoming 3rd album.

As we all know the beautiful and seductress Helen featured in the original track ‘Aaj ki Raat’ from the film ‘Anamika’. While the setup of this video shoot was that of 40s jazz bar look. This jazzy number, while staying true to the original soul of the song, combines reggae with cabaret and motown, Mikey has re-invented the music for ‘Aaj ki raat’ and Shalmali is the lead singer in it, and they both will be acting in the video along with Shibani Dandekar, singer, anchor and model.

The video will be a murder mystery with Shalmali playing a seductive bar singer and her outfit was giving required amount of glamour quotient to the video, while Shibani is playing a beautiful waitress who has the moves to die for and Mikey will feature as a detective in the video.

Mikey has a special liking for 50s and 70s era Bollywood music. Why this special choice? He replied, ‘I think the melody of those songs are so beautiful and there is lots of romance in those songs. The original recordings are quite old, I want to add something to them…the songs are like…like beautiful women wearing the old clothes, I am just giving them new looks to them.’

Born in Chennai, he is originally from New Zealand. He studied Composition and Orchestration at the Wellington Conservatorium of Music and at Victoria University, Wellington. He then worked as a music producer in London at Trident Studios London among other places.

Mikey has previously worked with industry stalwarts like Lucky Ali starting with his debut album Sunoh, and AR. Rahman for their home as well as crossover projects. He has also been actively involved in producing music for a number of TV programs, commercials for brands like  Vodafone, Coca Cola, Levi’s, Canon, Sony, Titan, Garnier, Lakme, amongst others, Bollywood films tracks and background score for films like Shaitan, Shanghai, David, Nautanki Saala, Shaadi Ke Side Effects etc. and movies down south.

Recently Mumbai Mirror had a report saying that Salman khan left the sets of fugly featuring Akshay kumar and him. There were reported that akshay kumar was stealing the limelight in the song.
A Source who was present on the shoot said Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar reached the set where they were shooting the song of Fugly in which Salman khan is doing a cameo and once the shoot was wrapped up Salman visited the next set where Arjun kapoor and Alia bhatt were doing a photo shoot for 2 states later after meeting them he went on the sets of O teri where Alvira and Atul agnihotri were present. Salman Khan and Akshay kumar have no issues at all. once the song is out it will be there for everyone to see it.

Shashank Vyas & Chandni Bhagwanani surprised Karan Sharma on his Birthday!

Karan Sharma, who is currently seen essaying the male lead’s role in ‘Ek Nayi Pehchaan’, recently turned a year older. His good friend Shashank Vyas (Jagya of Balika Vadhu) and Chandni Bhagwanani (Amita Ka Amit fame) pitched in together for a surprise party at Karan’s home.

Birthday Boy Karan had no idea about celebrations and was truly surprised to see his friends at his home.  Says Karan, “I always throw a party on my Birthday. But as I am working round-the-clock so this year I have to drop off the celebration. I was sad because of this, so to cheer me up and make my happiness multiply, one of my friend organized a surprise birthday party where he had called some of my friends. I was shocked when I saw Shashank and Chandni. It was so sweet of them that they came to surprise me on my birthday.”

The party went on the wee hours and everyone was seen having fun and interacting to each other.

Glorifying the Cinema & The City

Asiatic Society of Mumbai & Mumbai Research Center felicitate the National Award –winning filmmaker Shyam Benegal At the inauguration of Cinema and the City with Premier Screening of writer producer and director Khalid Mohamed’s “The Master: Shyam Benegal”

Producer of critically acclaimed movies A Wednesday, Charas, and of “The Master – Shyam Benegal” Anjum Rizvi was accompanied by Sharbani Mukherjee at screening along with the Sai Pranjpaye, Kalpana Lajmi and Khalid Mohammad, Govind Namdeo were present.

The 95-minute tribute by film critic Khalid Mohamed looks at the stalwart director’s oeuvre right from his ad films and films,Ankur, Nishant and Manthan to the TV series Bharat Ek Khoj and Samvidhaan which is being telecast currently. Mohamed, who considers Benegal a mentor, had written the stories and screenplays of Mammo, Sardari Begum and Zubeidaa for Benegal.

Completed after two years, The Master, has been jointly produced by Khalid Mohamed and Anjum Rizvi. Among those who have worked with Benegal, the documentary features Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar, Karisma Kapoor, Manoj Bajpayee, Om Puri, Rajat Kapur, Raageshwari Sachdev, Divya Dutta, Sachin Khedekar, Surekha Sikri, Ila Arun, Minissha Lamba, Govind Nihalani, Girish Karnad, Anant Nag, Nina Gupta, Pallavi Joshi, Vanraj Bhatia and Govind Nihalani.
