‘Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashmah’ is one of the most popular and loved family series on SAB TV.

Jackky Bhagnani & Neha Sharma recently visited the sets of ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashmah’ to promote their upcoming movie – “Youngistaan”. Initially Jackky was supposed to be interviewed by Popatlal but due to some mix up, Aatmaram Bhide, secretary of Gokuldham society had to pose as Popatlal and interview Jackky which turned into a comedy of errors. Everyone on the sets had fun while shooting with Jackky & Neha.

Jackky Bhagnani said, “Both, Neha & me were excited to visit Gokuldham society where in many of Youngistaan manifesto points are collectively implemented. Gokuldham society is perfect role model for many of us. It was fun interacting with all the actors & I hope to visit Gokuldham again soon.”

Toonz Retail eyes 50 stores by March 2014

Expanding its reach across the country, the company aims to double the store numbers by next fiscal and also planning a strong presence in the ecommerce space

Toonz Retail India Pvt. Ltd, a one-stop shop for all the needs and occasions of kids ageing 0-12 is further expanding its retail reach in India. The 4 year old company presently operating with 45 stores across India in Delhi, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab is targeting 50 stores by March, 2014.

Mr. SharadVenkta, MD & CEO, Toonz Retail India Pvt. Ltd. Said, “We are aiming 50 stores by March, 2014, and looking forward to reach the target of 100 outlets by the next financial year. We have also planned a capital expenditure of around Rs.20 Crore for expansion”. “Apart from our conventional business plans we plan to take our next step by launching our brands WOW MOM and SUPER YOUNG on a national platform via Multi Brands Outlets, large format lifestyle store and exclusive brand outlets.” he added.

The company is set to improvise on the opportunity that exists in the kidswear segment and expand the business, using its own brands, in tier-II and III towns. Recently they have opened up a new store in Uppal, located in East of Hyderabad and Nalgonda. It also has a decent presence in ecommerce space through Firstcry, Flipkart, Jabong and is expanding to other ecommerce partners. Toonz aims to be a consistent quality service provider to its consumers in an affordable price and also impart a happy parenting solution for all the parents shopping for their kids.

Toonz is emphasizing more on district centers like Indore, Noida, Thiruvananthpuram, Davangiri, Shimogha, Latur, Nagpur, Vishakhapatnam, Tirupati etc. for their stores. Toonz Retail is also looking to sell its in-house brands to other retailers and also create shop-in-shops.

Started in 2010 the company largely operates through the franchise route, with each outlet requiring an investment of Rs.35-50 lakh. The store size ranges from 1200 – 2500 sq.ft. The product categories of Toonz include apparels, which is the major contributor for its revenue and baby gears, toys & games to name a few others. It has also introduced two own brand labels, WowMom and SuperYoung, targeting infants and kids up to 12 years of age.

According to KPMG estimates, the kids wear market in India is 28,000-30,000 crore, and it expects this to touch 43,000 crore by 2016.
