M celebrated the first Indian edition of Neighbours Day across over 500 Societies

Oye! 104.8 FM celebrated the first Indian edition of Neighbours Day across over 500 Societies in 7 cities on 16th December 2012. The society residents came together and celebrated this day of togetherness by organizing various fun activities, like picnics, potluck lunch, and games for all age groups. Large number of residents’ gatherings was seen in societies on this 1st time initiative where residents came forward taking pledges of being Good Neighbours.

Oye! FM had partnered with JustMyNeighbour.com to give a ‘Filmi’ celebration to the first Neighbours Day in India. There were promotions on Oye! 104.8 FM and across the Societies urging residents to come out and celebrate the Day in a ‘Filmi’ way to win gifts and goodies.

The enthusiastic participation of residents during the first event has initiated societies to look at celebrating this day annually and marking this event in their yearly calendars.

The objective of Neighbours’ Day is to bring residents of the same society together, to create strong and vibrant community that helps people to interact with each other, to discover what they have in common and how they can live together better. What better way to get this moving by inviting everyone in that community to celebrate togetherness.

The Indian Neighbours’ Day is derived from The World Neighbours’ Day which is an initiative of the European Federation of Local Solidarity. Its main objective is to develop a network of partners willing to promote a “better living together”.

Abhi Na Jao Chhod kar

Abhi na jao chhod kar is the story of Mayra and Aditya, whose love surpasses the borders of caste and religion.

Mayra belongs to an orthodox Muslim family; and her father is a person who will never agree to have a Hindu boy as his son-in-law. Aditya’s father too, is a person, who will never accept a Muslim daughter-in-law. However, both the families are aware about the relationship, and do their best to hide it from their respective patriarchs. They fear that Mayra and Aditya’s love could stir up a storm in both the households.

On one hand, Mayra is a playful, affable, yet stubborn girl; and on the other hand, Aditya is an incredibly mature person.

In due course of the story, Aditya dies in an accident. The loss of her lover utterly devastates Mayra.

During an exhibition of paintings made by Aditya; Mayra meets Rehan, and gets close to him. She begins to see glimpses of Aditya in Rehan. Rehan too begins to develop feelings for Mayra, and in the process ends up sideling Rukhsar, the girl who loves him.

Enter Niyaaz, the son of a politician; who ends up buying each one of Aditya’s paintings from Mayra. He later asks for Mayra’s hand in marriage, a proposal, her family readily agrees to. Mayra on the other hand is never able to admit her feelings for Rehan. Perhaps, she doesn’t want to do anything about it.

A helpless Rehan can do little as Mayra goes away to settle down with Niyaz. Niyaz is a well-mannered person; he tends to get aggressive at times; partly due to the fact that he lost his mother at a very young age. Although he tries his best to win Mayra’s affections, his well meaning actions always tend to backfire. And Mayra, is never really able to accept him.

In the meanwhile, Rehan goes over to Aditya’s house and meets his parents and sister. As Mayra is close to Aditya’s family, Rehan too accepts them as his own. The shock of Aditya’s untimely death has devastated his family. The family’s construction business too has been running in a loss. Upon meeting Rehan, the family begins a renewed effort to get everything back on track.

Rehan’s hard work soon helps them bag a prestigious tender. He personally visits the construction site in order to convince the residents to move out in exchange for new homes in their new building. The residents however, refuse to believe Rehan and approach Niyaz for support.

Niyaz is a person who does not tolerate injustice in any form; he gathers the residents and begins a movement against the builder.

Rehan’s dream of rehabilitating Aditya’s family to its former glory begins to crumble. He is unable to take action against Niyaz as he is Mayra’s husband. When Mayra comes to know about everything, she gets worried.

In due course of the story, Mayra begins to accept Niyaz, and Ruksar comes back into Rehan’s life.

Ashish Kapoor – Born on 17th October 1984 in Delhi. An interior designer student but got into acting coincidently. Appeared in shows like “Shhh..koi hain”, “Emotional Atyachaar”, “Bandini” and “Ye Rishta kya khelata hain”. But his claim to fame was “Dekha Ek Khwab” on Sony TV and currently “Love Marriage Yaa Arrange Marriage” on Sony TV itself.

He is a travel freak and in this context he feels privileged to state that he has travelled to most of the exotic destinations across the globe which in turn can also be good locations for his shoots (especially the European ones). People want to see the most explored and most talked about destinations but on the contrary, he wishes to visit a place which is least explored. A virgin destination is even better. He wants to travel to global destinations just for the sake of Location Hunting which also opens a wide frame of his thought process.

Vikram Bhatt signs Prachi Desai for next installment of 1920

Fresh off the success of Raaz 3 and 1920 Evil Returns, director/producer Vikram Bhatt, known to be the Face of Indian Horror,is already planning for his next thrilling installment of the 1920 franchise under the ASA Production banner.The producer has signed on actress Prachi Desai for the horror ,which also marks the directorial debut of Tinu Suresh Desai .

Talking about his decision to cast Prachi says Vikram Bhatt , “The girl in the film belongs to a royal family and Prachi is someone who looks extremely classy and dignified. She has that allure of royalty.”

All praise for the producer-director says Prachi Desai “ I am glad Vikram and I are finally working together. The story blew my mind, it’s never been seen before. His films have clearly touched the pulse of the audience and this will be my first thriller/horror movie and I’m very excited to be trying my hand at a different genre”.

The film goes on floors in March 2013 and is to shot entirely in London.

Ali Zafar to do a special cameo in Tere Bin Laden 3

Soon after the release of his forthcoming film David Dhawan’s Chashme Baddoor, Ali Zafar will next be seen doing the cameo in the Tere Bin Laden sequel. The actor who shot to fame after making his Bollywood debut in the film ,having read the script of the sequel suggested doing a cameo in the film, since it better suit the script. Director Abhishek Sharma and production house Walkwaters thought the idea was exciting.

Says producer Pooja Shetty,Walkwaters , “The Tere Bin Laden team is intact. Ali was an integral part of the film and shares excellent relations with us at Walkwater. He is aware of every development of the sequel and will be a part of the film. I’m very excited about Tere Bin Laden 3,as it reunites a young talented bunch of people and will make us relive the exciting TBL journey”

Confirms Ali, “ Yes, Abhishek Sharma and the producers are very kind and special to me from the start of my career. So for Tere Bin Ladin sequel, when Abhishek narrated the new concept and the story line, there was a certain part which I found pretty exciting. Post that upon requesting to play that same part, Abhishek and producers also found it pretty exciting and different. They also wrote the part which was on me and which marked a special cameo. When you see the film you will know why”.

THE ASSIGNMENT – SEASON 3

This season gives corporate hot-shots a chance to live their dream jobs.

The launch episode will see Rajeev Samant, CEO and Founder of Sula Vineyards mentor Savita Nair, Creative Director Leo Burnett India as she lives her dream job of being a vintner.

New Delhi December 19, 2012: Confucius once said, “Choose a job you love and you won’t have to work a single day.” But how many have really been able to live that Dream Job?

Bloomberg TV India, the nation’s premier English business channel, is back with Season 3 of its popular and successful reality show THE ASSIGNMENT which revolves around DREAM JOBS.

This season Bloomberg TV India will take one corporate executive every week and give them a chance to live their Dream Job, mentored by an expert from the field. THE ASSIGNMENT captures the corporate hot-shots grapple with the responsibilities of their dream jobs and reflect on the experience of living it.

THE ASSIGNMENT – Season 3, apart from Rajeev Samant, CEO & Founder – Sula Wines features well-known mentors like Alyque Padamsee, Indian Theatre personality and ad film maker; Vikram Bawa, Fashion and Advertising Photographer; Nikhil Chib, Owner and Executive Chef – Busaba; Hormazd Sorabjee, Editor – Autocar India; Junaid Merchant, India’s first Canine Behaviourist and Horse breeder to name a few.

Savita spends a day at Sula Vineyards and is assigned three different tasks by Mr. Samant who at the end of each rates her performance and guides her on the finer points of managing a vineyard.

Mr. Rajeev Samant, who gave up a successful corporate career to chase his dream job of being a Vintner, said “It is nice to live your dream successfully and it feels extremely good when you find that it inspires others.”

Savita Nair speaking about her experience on the show said, “My dream has been fulfilled on THE ASSIGNMENT. It taught me so much about the challenges and what it would involve to have a vineyard under your control. I loved it and enjoyed the experience.”

Ustad Sultan Khan, a name which nobody is ignorant of in the Industry, an Indian Sarangi player and Classical vocalist belonging to Indore Gharana. He was one of the members of the Indian fusion group Tabla Beat Science, with Zakir Hussain and Bill Laswell. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan honor in 2010.

Born in Jaipur to Ustad Gulab Khan, learned Sarangi from his father. He gave his first performance at the All-India Conference at the age of eleven, and has performed on an International scale with Ravi Shankar on George Harrison’s 1974 Dark Horse World Tour.

He has won numerous Musical awards including twice the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, also known as the President’s Award, as well as the Gold Medalist Award of Maharashtra and the American Academy of Artists Award of Medalist Award of Maharshtra and the American Academy of Artists Award in 1998. In 1997 he performed at Prince Charles’ 50th Birthday celebrations.

Ustad Sultan Khan has many unforgettable songs to his credit like “Albela Sajan Aayo Re”, “Maqbool”, “Kachche Dhaage”, “Mr. and Mrs. Iyer”, “Jab We Met”, “Agni Varsha”, “Superstar”, “Rahul”, “Paanch”, “Mausam” and many more.

His albums like Piya Basanti, Ustad & the Divas T-Series, Ustad Sultan Khan & his friends Times Music, Shoonya –BMG, Bhoomi – Virgin and Pukaar – Sony Music and others are to his credit.

Giving all his life to music, Sultan sahab had lived a simple life. He has had the god fortune of accompanying all the great Maestros like Ustad Amir Khan, Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, Pt. Omkar Thakur and Ustad Nazakat Ali-Salamat Ali Khan are the name to few.
