‘Love Marriage Ya Arranged Marriage’

Kaun Kispe Bhaari Hai? Behas Jaari Hai!

~ Premieres August 6, 2012 on Sony Entertainment Television ~

Mumbai, Thursday July 26, 2012: Love marriage Vs Arranged marriage is a point of view on which India has always agreed to disagree. Everybody has a point of view on the subject and Sony Entertainment Television (SET) with their latest fiction show ‘Love Marriage Ya Arranged Marriage’ takes this argument forward and looks at this concept through the story of two best friends, the principle protagonists who are polar opposites in their attitudes and belief and have a definite point of view on the subject. Introducing Mansi (Samaira Rao) – who will marry whoever her parents choose for her and Shivani (Rishika Mihani) – who only believes in love marriage. Produced by Sphere Origins Multivision Pvt. Ltd and written by acclaimed Bollywood writer Kamlesh Pandey the show traces the journey of these two friends who are diametrically opposite in their beliefs about marriage, yet share the same desire to have a happy and content marriage. The debate is on and as the story evolves perhaps along with the two friends, the country will also get an answer.

Speaking on the launch, Mr. N P Singh, COO, Multi Screen Media said, “Sony Entertainment Television has been committed to bring differentiated programming and offer a diversified bouquet of entertaining shows to the audience. Our latest offering ‘Love Marriage Ya Arranged Marriage’ is a show with an extremely relatable theme and identifiable characters. We are sure that audience will love this show and it will strengthen our hold in the fiction domain along with our already popular shows ‘Bade Achhe Laggte Hai’, ‘Kuch Toh Log Kahenge’ and ‘Saas Bina Sasural’.”

Ms. Sneha Rajani, Senior EVP and Business Head Sony Entertainment Television said “It has always been our endeavour at SET to present the finest content to our viewers by collaborating with some of the finest creative minds of the industry. ‘Love Marriage Ya Arranged Marriage’ is produced by Sphere Origins Multivision Pvt. Ltd, acclaimed for producing differentiated content on television. This show is based in Udaipur and has a compelling story line which is relevant in our society in today’s age.”

Mr. Sunjoy Waddhwa, CMD, Sphere Origins Multivision Pvt. Ltd said, “‘Love Marriage Ya Arrranged Marriage’ is a show about two friends who share different views on marriage. The show projects two different ideologies on marriage that prevail in our society without taking either side. Through this show we are trying to convey that whether love or arranged, marriage is an everyday partnership; sometimes you need to arrange the love, at other times you have to love the arrangement.”

Set against the backdrop of modern day Udaipur, Love Marriage Ya Arranged Marriage explores the debate between love marriages and arranged marriages without taking either side. The show highlights the pros and cons of both schools of thought through the lives of these two young women. Conservative by nature, Mansi maintains that she will marry the man that her parents choose for her. She feels that marriage is not just the union of two people but unison between two families who abide by the same values and beliefs. She thoroughly believes in and loves the idea of an Arranged Marriage. Shivani on the other hand, is the antithesis of Mansi. Carefree and aggressive, boys look up to her as their buddy. She desires a picture perfect romance where her prince shall come and sweep her off her feet and take her to a land never seen before – the land of love. She feels that after a considerate phase of companionship, togetherness and understanding, a couple should exchange vows. She believes in the idea of ‘Love Marriage’.

The cast also includes the charming and suave Ashish Kappor of Dekha Ek Khwab fame and Himanshu Malhotra along with veteran actors like Raju Kher, Jyoti Gauba, Harsh Khuranna, Puneet Tejwani amongst several others who ably support the cast.

The cast and the crew of Paparattzy Productions’ ENEMMMY, directed by Ashuu Trikha, got together at Filmistan to spend some moments after their shoot. It was a very cute interaction with Johnny Lever, Mithun Chakraborty and Suniel shetty having fun, enjoying themselves and pulling each other’s leg, while Ashuu Trikha and Mahaakshay Chakraborty looked on with a smile at the camaraderie between the stars.

Said Mithun da, “this film has only been possible because of the team that I have, my actors and my technicians. They have been with me through and through.”

Added Mahaakshay, “Anna (Suniel Shetty) ensured we stayed fit through out.” Suniel Shetty is quick to interrupt, it is dada. He ensured so less food on the sets due to budget constraints that we were all fit.” As everyone guffaws, Mahaakshay adds that Anna ensured they all gymed after the shoot. Johnny Lever is quick to add, “It was fun, exercising. I went for a day and only for that day!”

When you ask Johnny Lever if he kept everyone entertained, he is quick to grin and come up with his line, “Mithun da, he used to keep us entertained as he wanted us actors to be happy. He used to mimic me too.” Mithun da grins, “He is lying.” Johnny retorts, “Bada kamaal ka aadmi hai dada, aap to jaante nai.”

As we leave the room, the sound of laughter resonates in the room, and the tea knocks off jam and veg sandwiches and fruits with effortless ease, with cups of steaming chaai.

Yaami Gautham impresses on the sets of Gauravam

Post the success of the contemporary Vicky Donor, actress Yaami Gautham has been riding a high wave recently having shot for a bilingual film,Gauravam, down South despite not being too well-versed with the language.

While the makers thought it best to shift dates so as to provide Yaami with more time to gauge the language ,being the thorough professional that she is ,the actress decided to take it up as a challenge and learn both Tamil and Telugu simultaneously as she shot for the film.

Reveals a source “ The fact that Gauravam is bilingual didn’t hinder Yaami’s performance one bit. Despite not being fluent in any of the South languages ,Yaami decided not to waste time in going through a proper coaching and instead would sit with the script and with the team and work on her lines till she got them right. By the end of it she was able to deliver the dialogues like a pro and had impressed everyone on the sets”

Says Yaami Gautham “Being a North Indian it was quite a challenge to learn Tamil and Telugu but I was really determined to get the basics right. Also I’m grateful that the team has been very supportive”

His first project was a serial call Parampara for ZEE in 1992, as an assistant director to his guru Late Shree Madan Kumar. Since, he was very close to him, after his death he left that serial. It is while working for Parampara, he learnt editing … After that he started editing and his first project as an editor was Thoda Sa Aasman.

Post that he has edited several project for many noted directors/producers including Late Shree Mukul S Anand, Prakash Jha, Ashwani Dheer, Sachin Yardi, Ashim Samanta, Sanjay Upadhya to name a few—He did Kalchakra as an associate director as well as editor. It was A WEDNESDAY, Directed by Neeraj Pandey… which brought him recognition.

Currently, he is editing a film call SPECIAL CHHABEES directed by Neeraj Pandey starring Akshay Kumar.

Shooting experience was a great and at times challenging for Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai. Here he shot at some of the pristine and gorgeous locales of Poland and Rajasthan. Poland is great at that time of the year – however, just as the unit would be ready to shoot – it would get all foggy and misty !!! At Udaipur – it was challenging shooting with the crowd, which was there in droves just to get a glimpse of their favourite yesteryear actors and curious to meet with the new stars, who got so much love and adulation by the bystanders and tourists – that it was just overwhelming. Not to mention the challenges of shooting non-stop and finishing the film in schedule of 55 days made it all the more interesting.

“Film making has always excited me and the more I work, the more I learn. With Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai, I aspire to bring to the audience a taste of the yesteryears finely blended with modern India. I am nervous and excited to see how the audience responds to my vision’. Said an emotionally charged Shree Narayan Singh.
