Kavitta Verma, with her foray in Bollywood with her item sequence in T.P. Aggarwal’s nextPolicegiri

The Stunning Kavitta Verma will dazzle the silver screen sharing it with Sanjay Dutt in T.P. Aggarwal’s next Policegiri

Coming from an army background & having done theatre Kavitta Verma begins her Bollywood journey with an item sequence in Policegiri.

On asking Kavitta about leaping from theatre to directly item number she mentions, “Item girls cannot act says who. Dancing is acting right? Policegiri is the right beginning I wanted, starting it with a special dance sequence. Sharing screen space with Sanju Baba was very thrilling. The song is pretty much a dance number & audiences will love it.”

The thorough actress having done extensive theatre from National School of Drama (NSD), Delhi, Kavitta Verma who has done print ads down south is a trained classical Dancer, she adds, “I am here to act. I am reading few scripts & I want to do something which gives me that adrenaline rush. Be it an item number or social drama or an action film, I am here to act.”

True That Kavitta Verma, Item Girls can Dance.

‘I call that Mallika’s Claim to Fame’, Kavitta Verma lashes out

Kavitta Verma, who will be seen dazzling the silver screen sharing it with Sanjay Dutt in a special dance number in the upcoming T.P. Aggarwal’s Policegiri, lashes out on Mallika Sherawat’s demeaning comment in the west.

Mallika Sherawat who has been away from Bollywood for quite some time now trying her luck in Hollywood apparently called India a regressive nation.

For obvious reasons our celebrities, who wave India’s flag when they are shooting abroad or attending an international event, did not take this lightly & have lashed out openly for the struggler’s demeaning comment for a Hollywood magazine.

Kavitta Verma who is already creating a stir in Bollywood with her debut in Policegiri’s special dance sequence lashes out on Mallika at an event, “Regressive? Seriously? That’s what she has to say to say about India. Wearing a bikini or a lip lock on silver screen is no biggie. Our Veteran actors have been there & done that . We Indians & artistes are respected worldwide. Our very own Vidya Balan was a jury at Cannes.”

Belonging to an army background Kavitta Verma further adds, “I don’t think I need to mention India’s achievements. She would have known. It’s depressing. I can speak a lot more but I will stop here.”

Kavitta definitely has the right to be angry, after all an army kid that she is.

She concludes, “I call that Mallika’s claim to fame.”

Mumbai, May 30, 2013: Literature Live and NCPA host the launch of “The Namo Story: A Political Life “by Kingshuk Nag. The author will be in conversation with Kumar Ketkar, Sidharth Bhatia, Bharat Kumar Raut and Anil Dharkar.

Book Launch Details:

Date: Monday 3rd June 2013

Time: 6. 30 PM

Venue: The Little Theater National Center for Performing Arts (NCPA)

NCPA Marg, Nariman Point, Mumbai

About Kingshuk Nag: The Resident Editor of the Times of India’s Ahmedabad edition between May 2000 and July 2005, which was the most eventful period in the history of Gujarat with a major earthquake and deadly riots. He received the Prem Bhatia Memorial Award – which is considered the Indian equivalent of the Pulitzer – for demonstrating excellence in political reporting and analyses in Gujarat. Presently the Resident Editor of the Times of India’s Hyderabad edition, this is Nag’s third book. Alumnus of the Delhi School of Economics, Nag writes a hugely popular blog titled ‘Masala Noodles’ on the TOI site.

About Book: One of the truly enigmatic personalities on the contemporary Indian political canvas, Narendra Damodardas Modi is difficult to ignore. From his humble beginnings as a RSS pracharak to his rise in the Hindutva ranks, and from being Bharatiya Janata Party’s master planner to one of the its most popular and controversial state chief ministers, Modi’s mantra of change and development is gradually finding many takers. Though he evokes vastly different reactions among the citizens for his alleged role during the Godhra aftermath, what is absolutely clear is that he indeed is racing towards the centre stage, making the 2014 General Elections look more like a Presidential system – where, you either vote for him or against him. And that, as they say, is the Modi effect. Kingshuk Nag paints the most vivid portrait of the extraordinary politician who is poised to take on a new role in the coming years.
