Kavita Kaushik to play effervescent Maina in SAB TV’s next Tota weds Maina

Kavita Kaushik to play effervescent Maina in SAB TV’s next Tota weds Maina

Kavita Kaushik goes to U.P. on SAB with yet another comedy serial Tota aur Maina. Kavita refuses to adhere to cliches and instead continues to experiment with diverse characters. In Tota aur Maina, she plays the lead protagonist, a modern young girl, free spirited and adventurous. A fun riot errupts when this modern ebullient girl Maina steps into Tota’s simple household, and everyone struggles for equilibrium. Laden with dollops of humour and with a love story at its core, this show has the ability to melt your heart just as well as it can have you rolling with laughter.

Kavita Kaushik, reveals to us more about the character, “Maina’s character is wild and I believe its just an extention of me. Maina is forever happy, confident, outgoing and so much fun. I am having a blast shooting for it because it’s a very earthy realistic character who is extremely funny at the same time. So it’s not the witty lines that make me comical, it’s my character in itself that is very funny. I had to work on my accent and learn the local dialect and had to be trained in the ways of life there to make my character authentic. The show is based on the lives of people in U.P and that’s a completely different life from what we live here in Mumbai.”

SAB is known for its unique flavour of comedy and even this time it lives up to its promise of delivering an absolutely entertaining comedy that explores a different sub-culture within the umbrella of Indian culture.

In keeping with SAB TV’s belief that, “Asli Maaza SAB ke saath aata hai”, bring your whole family together and enjoy this hilarious rom-com with Tota weds Maina.

Breathtaking finale of 15th JK Tyre-FMSCI National Racing Championship concludes at Buddh International Circuit

~Ameya Walavalkar and Prashanth Singh steal limelight in JK Tyre-VW Polo R Cup 2012~

~Saran Vikram, N Leelakrishnan and Fahad Kutty win Round 6 races of LGB Formula 4, Indian Touring and Indian Junior Touring Car Championships respectively~

New Delhi, 2 December 2012: Round 6 of the 15th JK Tyre-FMSCI National Racing Championship that included India’s top racing events – the JK Tyre-VW Polo R Cup, LGB Formula 4, Indian Touring Cars and Indian Junior Touring Car championships – came to an thrilling end at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida today.

In the first race of the JK Tyre-VW Polo R Cup, Mumbai’s Ameya Walavalkar continued his winning streak beating guest driver Jeffrey Kruger by 0.745 seconds. Avdumber Hede finished third while Sandeep Kumar was fourth. Prashant Singh won the second encounter, Munjal came second and Kruger finished third. The races of the day at the one-year-old track had their share of thrills as Saran Vikram took the top honours in the second LGB Formula 4 race of Round 6 trailed by Sarosh Hataria and Dlijith TS. Coimbatore’s N Leelakrishnan repeated his performance by winning the 6-lap race of the Indian Touring Cars category. B Balavijay and Sunny Siddhu followed. In the Indian Junior Touring Cars race, the talented young Fahad Kutty stood out and stole the show with a superlative performance. Chennai’s Feroze Khan and Coimbatore’s S. Sreeram finished second and third respectively.

Round 6 races, which signalled the end of the JK Tyre-VW Polo R Cup 2012 witnessed championship points leader Ameya Walavalkar thriving on the circuit in the first race. He finished 0.745 seconds before Jeffrey Kruger from South Africa, who had qualified on pole for the first race. Avdumber Hede – who has had a decent run this season and was fourth in standings at the end of Round 5 – finished third in the race. The second race saw two Indians, Prashanth Singh and Munjal Savla, leave their mark and finish first and second respectively while Kruger recorded his second podium of the round and finished in third place.

Skilled driver from Chennai, Saran Vikram, who finished third in yesterday’s race, won the final race of the LGB Formula 4 category today with a total time of 16:19.153. Dark Don racing’s Sarosh Hataria finished second (16:19.800) after starting fourth on the grid followed by guest driver for the category Diljith TS, who has done quite well in the two LGB Formula 4 races he has participated in. A happy Vikram, who has every chance to end the championship in the top three, seemed satisfied with his performance at the Buddh “It is the first time that the National Racing Championship is being held at the Buddh International Circuit and the experience has been exhilarating. While the two podium finishes are satisfactory, I am very glad to have finished in the top three in the championship”.

In the popular Indian Touring Cars championship that witnessed hot chases for the top honours saw veteran driver N Leelakrishnan (14:51.489) continue his winning streak as he notched up his second successive win in Round 6 of the championship. The senior driver, who has a bundle of experience behind him, made a stunning comeback to competitive racing coming in second during last year’s championship, is on top in this year’s standings too but might miss out on the grand prize by a awfully small margin. “I have had a great weekend and that I got a twin podium makes it even more special. Though winning the championship would have been great the margin of one point shows how closely the series was contested”. Putting in his best to gather as many valuable points as possible was the Chennai based B Balavijay (14:52.670) who finished second 1.181 secs behind trailed by another of India’s talented drivers Sunny Siddhu.

In the season ending race of the Indian Junior Touring Cars championship – the races of which have thrown up a few very promising names for the future – saw Mumbai’s Fahad Kutty (16:36.084) taking the chequered flag. Championship standings leader and Chennai lad S Feroze Khan (16:37.254) who finished third overall last year, was 1.17 seconds behind while S Sreeram finished third (16:46.745). Speaking about his race Feroze said, “I had a good race yesterday and yet Fahad pipped me to the chequered flag, so I was determined to do well today. The race today capped off what has been a wonderful season for me and for the team. Personally, I have grown as a driver and am thrilled to have won the title”.

About JK Tyre Motorsports

JK Tyre has always been closely associated with the world of sports. Almost three decades back the company laid down a long term and sustained approach to promote Motorsport. Participating in this form of the sport has helped the company in continuously updating its products to meet the challenges of gruelling Indian conditions. The sport at that time in India was perceived for elite but JK Tyre took upon itself to package and redesign the sport to suit the masses. The company not only made the sport affordable but also equivalent to International operating standards. JK Tyre’s foray into Motorsport was a well thought out strategic decision to not only use and develop this virgin branding platform but also to realize the dreams of making India a force in the field of motor sport.

In 2011, the company acquired the Formula BMW Series and rechristened it as the JK Racing Asia Series (JKRAS). With this acquisition, JK Tyre created history in Indian Motorsport by becoming the first Indian company to acquire an FIA accredited series. The series has to its credit of producing as many as six of the current Formula One drivers, including reigning two- time champion Sebastian Vettel. By taking over the series, JK Tyre promises to utilize it as a platform to encourage and support the world’s best racing drivers and promote India as one of Asia’s motorsport capitals. Thus, JK Tyre has conquered two steps in the motorsport program where the new racing aspirants first establish themselves in India, then graduate to Asian level i.e. to Formula BMW which is now JKRAS and then they move to higher levels of racing. JK Tyre now stands closer to achieving its mission of bringing world-class motorsport to the Indian masses.

The Racing and Karting programme by JK Tyre has been the breeding ground for the country’s motorsport talents like Narain Karthikeyan, Armaan Ebrahim, Karun Chandhok, Aditya Patel and other new emerging talents.

Akhil Khushlani and Aditya Patel create magic – grab one podium finish each in JK Racing Asia Series at Buddh

~JKRAS Rookie driver Aston Hare records two remarkable victories~

~South African guest driver Jeffrey John Kruger cruises to pole for final round of JK Tyre-VW Polo R Cup 2012~

~Sarosh Hataria, N Leelakrishnan and Fahad Kutty claim pole to flag wins in LGB Formula 4, Indian Touring and Indian Junior Touring Cars Championships respectively~

New Delhi, 1 December 2012: Day 1 of races provided motorsport aficionados with a host of spectacular racing moments as six thrilling races kicked off the weekend at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida as part of the SIDVIN Festival of Speed today.

Action included Rounds 13 and 14 of the JK Racing Asia Series, the first crucial races of the LGB Formula 4, Indian Touring, and Indian Junior Touring Car championships that are all part of the final round of the 15th JK Tyre-FMSCI National Racing Championship, and the qualifying race for the final round of the JK Tyre-VW Polo R Cup.

Champion Indian drivers Akhil Khushlani and Aditya Patel, who have put in highly impressive performances in previous rounds of the JK Racing Asia Series, continued to show their class by grabbing one podium finish each in JK Racing Asia Series Rounds 13 and 14 respectively. While Akhil finished second in the first race, Aditya came third in the second event.

In the qualifiers of the JK Tyre-VW Polo R Cup, guest driver Jeffrey John Kruger (2:26.039) finished on pole followed by Avdumber Hede (2:27.562) and Ameya Walavalkar (2:28.066). The cup will witness its final clash for the grand trophy tomorrow.

Making the best from the opportunity, Sarosh Hataria, N. Leelakrishnan and Fahad Kutty claimed pole to flag victories in Race 1 of the LGB Formula 4, Indian Touring and Indian Junior Touring Cars Championships respectively.

The first highlight of Day 1 came in the form of Akhil Khushlani, who finished second (20:23.571) in Round 13 of the JK Racing Asia Series, just 0.188 seconds behind winner Aston Hare (20:23.383). Khushlani continued his good show and finished fourth even as Aditya Patel’s third place (20:20.363) in Round 14 came as the icing on the cake. Aston Hare closed the gap in the championship today when he claimed both race wins but Championship leader Nabil Jeffri was left with two troubled races with penalties.

Jeffri still leads the Championship but now with a marginal 12 points lead from Hare and while Ikhwan realistically put his chances at winning the Championship aside saying he just wants to win races this weekend.

Khushlani impressed in Round 13 and was leading the race for four laps before being overtaken by Hare on lap eight. “I had a good fight with quite a few drivers and enjoyed it but I hoped to have won it as I was quite quick up there in the mid segment but my tyres just started graining so I had lots of oversteer and I think Aston’s setup was much better. He finally caught up and we had a little bit of a moment but I didn’t want to overdrive and risk his Championship so I played it safe” he ended with a smile.

In Round 14, it was Patel who represented the country when he climbed on the podium in third. He spoke about the race during the interview and was happy with the challenge he faced during the race. “I think it was the first lap that changed everything because it was pretty tight between Akhil, Aidan and me. Akhil and Aidan went a little bit hot into the hairpin at turn four and left the door open and I got through. “Akhil caught me again, he passed me and I passed him again and from there on I was following Afiq and Nabil and I notice that Nabil had a drive through penalty. So I just kept my pace, I knew Aidan and Akhil were fighting in the back and I just took it from there” said Patel after the race. Aidan Wright impressed when he battled with Patel and Khushlani in both races. The Meritus.GP Rookie driver held his own to finish both races in fifth.

Three Meco Racing drivers completed Round 13 behind him with Visnu Prasad, Akhil Rabindra and Mexican Diego Duez in sixth to eighth respectively. Amer Beg of US Formula Project and Jeffri completed the top ten. Meanwhile Prasad, Jeffri, Duez, Rabindra and Malaysian Ashraff Dewal completed the top ten for Round 14.

In the first race of the LGB Formula 4 championship, Sarosh Hataria claimed a fantastic victory in a total time of 14:48.281 and with a top average speed of 124.98 kmph. Thanking his team Dark Don Racing, Hataria said that he was pleased with the results and felt great about getting an opportunity to race at the Buddh for a second time. Diljith TS, who has replaced championship leader and Dark Don Racing driver Ashwin Sundar, came second (14:48.745) but put in the fastest lap time (2:26.995) in the 5.14 km circuit. Chennai based Saran Vikram (14:57.804) finished third.

The popular Indian Touring Cars Championship witnessed Coimbatore racing and rally champion N Leelakrishnan (14:58.753) taking the honours with come stunning driving thus moving a step closer to a wrapping up a fantastic racing season. It may be recounted that Leelakrishnan made a memorable comeback to competitive racing and came in second during last year’s championship. “I’ve had ups and downs this season and am finishing second, which is really good. It feels great to finish on top on this track,” said the veteran driver after winning the race. Finishing second was gifted driver B. Balavijay (15:12.148), followed by V Ramnarayanan (15:14.839).

Cornering glory in the action packed first race of the Indian Junior Touring Cars Championship was the Mumbai based Fahad Kutty who has had a fantastic run this season. Kutty finished in a total time of 16:45.111 while championship leader S Feroze Khan finished 0.473 seconds behind (16:45.584). S Sreeram of Mega Racing finished third just over 2 seconds behind the winner. Team Game Over’s Kutty said, “I’ve had a decent run this season and it is a good feeling to be here and racing at the Buddh International Circuit.”

Day 2 of races, which will signal the conclusion of multiple racing championships, will kick start with the final race of the LGB Formula 4 championship scheduled to be held at 9.35 am (local time).
