Ali Zafar – Third most Google searched singer in India

CNN is expanding its live programming in the Asia Pacific region with the launch of a new primetime morning news show, a new primetime evening news show, and the appointment of two new full-time anchors, it was announced today. The announcement comes just weeks after CNN launched ‘On China’, the network’s first ever regular series focused on the country, hosted by Hong Kong-based Kristie Lu Stout.

The new primetime morning show, ‘CNN Newsroom, Live from Hong Kong’, will air from 3.30am to 5.30am IST each weekday beginning Monday November 19. Co-hosts Andrew Stevens and Patricia Wu will cover the top stories from Asia Pacific and across the world, along with headlines across business, sport, weather, technology, entertainment and more. Andrew Stevens has been a Hong Kong-based anchor/correspondent with CNN for more than 13 years, while Patricia Wu is a newly appointed Hong Kong-based anchor/correspondent, having relocated from CNN’s New York studio to co-host the new Asia morning show.

Anchor/correspondent Monita Rajpal is also a new addition to the Hong Kong team, relocating from CNN London to host a new Asia primetime evening news show, ‘CNN NewsCenter’. The soon-to-be launched Hong Kong-anchored ‘CNN NewsCenter’ will air from 5.00pm – 5.30pm IST each weekday and will follow the format of the Atlanta-anchored show of the same name, taking viewers through the day’s big stories of global importance.

The new role will showcase Coren’s strong on-location and breaking news reporting skills demonstrated during the 2010 Manila bus hostage situation, the 2011 Japan tsunami, and most recently during her month-long posting to Kabul, Afghanistan, in September 2012.

Alicia Coutts and Christian Sprenger agree two-year
contracts with leading swimwear brand

Speedo has added a further two Australian Olympic medallists to its roster of brand ambassadors, after securing two year agreements with both Alicia Coutts and Christian Sprenger. Both athletes will compete in Speedo swimwear until 2014.

Simultaneously, the morning in the modern house started on a note of positivity, as Rajev apologizes to Karishma for shouting at her the day before and the two hug and make up. Niketan is then seen instigating Rajev against Vishal and while the two are talking, Rajev mentions how he is regretting his shouting match with Mink and Karishma. As the day passes, Rajev is seen discussing Vishal’s complacent behavior with Urvashi and Urvashi comments saying that Delnaz should instead talk to him since he listens to Delnaz better. Rajev and Vishal are seen continuing their argument about how Vishal was the only one who didn’t do much in the task throughout the evening. Also as a part of the task, Sapna tries escaping the cage while Delnaz manages to catch her. After this, Urvashi is seen giving a task to all the animals to give a performance in their cage. While Urvashi is taking care of the animals outside, Rajev and Delnaz are cooking inside when Rajev tells Delnaz that she has all the chances of being a captain this week which Delnaaz ignores.

In the rural house, Bigg Boss talks to Aashka and asks her if she is fine post Imam’s exit. She tells Bigg Boss that her stay in the house has been fruitful since she thinks she is a changed person now and thanks Bigg Boss for the experience. Later, Aashka and Nirahua receive their first task of making cow-dung cakes. As an appreciation, the two will be able to watch the feed of the modern house on their TV screens if they complete their task with perfection.

In the modern house, Urvashi and Vishal are seen conversing where Urvashi re-iterates that Vishal is the only one complaining, else no one else has anything to say. She complains that more than it being a task for the animals, it is a task for the shikaris. She later tells Rajev that they now need to put on a check on animals when Vrajesh calls her in-human and says that she can’t be so crude.

In the evening, Bigg Boss announces an additional task for the animals to impress Urvashi in lieu of a reward and all the animals perform antics to impress Urvashi. As the day ends, all the animals are seen planning to get out of the cage and early in the morning at 4 AM, they manage to escape their cages and win the task.

Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma honours commitment

Santoor maestro and music composer Padmavibhushan Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma has given music in 10 films, of which 9 were for Yash Chopra’s films. After the sudden passing away of the producer-director, the latter’s wife decided not just to premiere the film on the eve of Diwali, but in fact to make a celebration of it, with a high-glitter dinner etc.

Shivji now had given a commitment to film music historian Manek Premchand to release the latter’s new book ROMANCING THE SONG – Hindi Cinema’s Musical Journey, on the same day, at the same time, a commitment made weeks before Chopra saab’s demise.

This put the santoor exponent in a real quandary, the two events were clashing in time, and he could not be in both places (an hour away) at the same time, so where to go?

But finally, he was able to explain his difficulty to Mrs. Pamela Chopra, requesting to make a late entry, while he somehow made it to Premchand’s launch, earlier than schedule! He stayed for about an hour and a half, and left after a short speech and the launch..

What a remarkable man, with his honour and professionalism both saved by wise commitment. As for his music, what can anyone say? It’s divine!

New Delhi, 20 November 2012: In an event that could be the largest motorsport spectacle of domestic racing that India has ever witnessed, the SIDVIN Festival of Speed takes place at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida from November 30 to December 2, 2012. This first-of-a-kind initiative will witness host two major International Championships, the finale of the JK Racing Asia Series, and Round 2 of the MRF Challenge 2012. It will also host the final rounds of the most coveted national racing championships in India – the ‘JK Tyre-Volkswagen Polo R Cup’ and the ‘JK Tyre-FMSCI National Racing Championship’, making it the biggest motorsports extravaganza to take place in India.

Close to 125 talented drivers from India & abroad will converge to display their skill at the event, which promises motorsport enthusiasts a veritable feast of nail-biting action, intense battles and unmatched moments of glory at one of the world’s best F1 circuits. The SIDVIN Festival of Speed will witness the culmination of India’s premier and only racing championship – the 16th JK Tyre National Racing Championship where the 2012 champions will be awarded. The weekend will see India’s top racing drivers competing for glory in the grand finale of the JK Tyre-FMSCI National Racing Championship that consists of the JK Tyre Volkswagen Polo-R Cup, LGB Formula 4, Indian Touring Cars, and Indian Junior Touring Cars championships. India’s top drivers have battled it out over five exciting rounds that took place on racetracks in Coimbatore and Chennai and will now gear up for the final face-off at the world’s second fastest race track.

The JK Tyre-Volkswagen Polo R Cup has proved to be a great stepping stone for the young drivers across the country since its inception. The Polo R Cup has given an opportunity to talented drivers from the previous seasons to represent India at in Germany at the Scirocco R Cup. The Polo R Cup is a one-make series that provides a platform wherein every competitor gets a fair chance to prove his/her mettle as each one of them gets an identical car and technical support. This brings out the real driving skills of the participants with no one getting any advantage over the other as far as the race machines are considered. The 2012 season witnessed the introduction of the all-new and faster TSI Race Polo with powerful 1.4 litre petrol engines. 20 of India’s best drivers including one International driver, Diego Duez from Mexico have been battling it out for the coveted title in the last five rounds of the season. With the top contenders in the championship standing marginally close to each other, the title battle has trickled down to the last round that is to be held at the Sidvin Festival of Speed at BIC.

The four-round race weekend of JK Racing Asia Series, the only ‘Junior’ Formula Racing Series in the world that provides a unique opportunity to the drivers to compete in front of the biggest names of the motorsport fraternity will decide who will be the next JK Racing Asia Series World Champion and signal the end of a historic 16-round season that saw the series making its maiden European sojourn with races at legendary circuits like Paul Ricard Circuit, Circuit de Spa Francorchamps, and the Silverstone Circuit. Penultimate rounds 11 and 12 of the JK Racing Asia Series took place alongside the 2012 Formula 1 Indian Grand Prix last month at the Buddh International Circuit. He is followed closely by GP3 race winner (and son of ex-Formula 1 & IndyCar racer Derek Daly) Conor Daly, with reigning 2012 F2 Champion Luciano Bacheta a close third. The highest placed Indian driver is Parthiva Sureshwaren who is currently 9th in the points standings with 2 top-ten finishes in the two races so far. He is confident of advancing many places up the table with strong finishes in all 4 races this weekend.

Apart from some serious racing, a lot of other interesting events has been planned for the motorsport enthusiasts.
