The campaign, which is emblematically named “India for Shiva”, is focused to not just spread awareness about the sport of Luge but also establish Shiva Keshavan as a ‘Citizen’s Olympian’ and gather support for the athlete while he trains to make India proud at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. At the end of the 2-minute video – which showcases Shiva’s spirited feat on the Leh-Manali highway – Shiva makes a distinctive appeal to the viewers, saying, “Help me spread the idea of Luge. Just share this video, and I’ll put your name on my racing suit at the Winter Olympic Games!”

Sports culture in India today is predominantly cricket-centric, and in a setting where most other sporting disciplines occupy second place, Keshavan’s pioneering call exemplifies the distress countless sportsmen and athletes experience in order to acquire much needed support and recognition. About Shiva Keshavan

Shiva Keshavan (full name Shiva Keshavan K P; born August 25, 1981) is the first Indian to compete in Luge at the Winter Olympic Games. Keshavan was supported by the Indian Government for the Olympic Season of 2009-10 and given a special award by the Sports Minister for winning the first-ever international medal for India in any winter sport.

Early Life

Hailing from a remote village in the Himalayan Range, Keshavan’s interest in winter sports began at a very young age. His earliest memories of winter sports are when Keshavan and his friends made their own skis using wood and metal sheets to play during the winter months. During summer, Keshavan and his friends used to prepare roller sleds with wood and bearings to speed down mountain roads.

His passion for adventure sports became competitive as the Kullu Valley gradually grew into a hub for adventure and winter sports in India. Keshavan was a dedicated athleteand went on to qualify for his first Winter Olympic Games in 1998 at the age of 16, a world record that stands until this day.

STAMFORD, Conn. – Feb. 13, 2013 – Today’s business travelers are surprisingly social on the road, according to a recent survey by Four Points by Sheraton, the “best for business” brand of Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT). Aside from sleeping, for instance, survey respondents indicated that enjoying the hotel bar or restaurant with colleagues or business partners was their number one activity during free time, outpacing time spent in the gym, spa, shopping or catching up with local acquaintances. In addition, business travelers are good networkers, with nearly two-thirds of those surveyed reporting that that they have kept in contact with someone they met on the plane or at the hotel while traveling on the road. About that flight, though: business travelers draw the line with their own colleagues, as more than 60% indicate that they would prefer to fly alone rather than with a business associate.

These are among the results of a 2012 hotel business travel study commissioned by Four Points that polled a total of 6,000 business travelers globally – 1,000 each from the United States, the United Kingdom, China, India, Germany and Brazil. Four Points is growing rapidly across nearly 30 countries and carefully monitors the needs and habits of business travelers. The first phase of the survey, released in August, explored the use of mobile technology to stay in touch while traveling, while the second phase focused on leisure activities.

“Business travelers have a real need to connect on the road – both virtually and in person,” said Brian McGuinness, Starwood’s senior vice president, specialty select brands. “Our survey results reveal that road warriors are social, preferring to network or to relax in the company of colleagues rather than just enjoying solitary pursuits.” McGuinness continued, “Four Points provides everything our guests need to be productive and comfortable on the road and that includes creating opportunities to connect socially through brand-wide programs like Best Brews ™, which invites guests to gather over a great local craft beer when the work day ends.”

Among key survey findings:

· During their waking hours, business travelers frequent the hotel restaurant or bar with colleagues more than other activities. Aside from sleeping, which, not surprisingly, is the activity that occupies the largest share of travelers’ time at a hotel, hanging out at the hotel bar or restaurant with colleagues or business partners is the top ranked activity on the road. The largest share of respondents (42.88%) named this activity, outpacing other pursuits such as going to the gym (38.97%) or spa (37.54%) or shopping (34.16%).

· By a wide margin, business travelers confirm they stay in touch with contacts whom they’ve met on a flight or at a hotel. 64.42% of respondents indicated that they had stayed in touch with someone they had met on a plane or at a hotel while traveling, vs. 35.58% who said they had not.

· Business travelers prefer separate flights. They may be happy to toss back a brew with a co-worker once they arrive at their hotel, but the majority of business travelers (61.13%) report that they would rather not share their flight with a colleague.

Differences by nationality:

· Americans are the most frequent business travelers. American business travelers hit the road more often than their international counterparts, with more than a third (36.36%) reporting that they average more than 10 trips per year for business. Conversely, Chinese travelers were the least likely to average more than 10 annual trips with only 7.07% of respondents at that level.

· Chinese and Indian business travelers socialize more. Chinese business travelers are the most receptive to sharing a flight with a co-worker (49.5%), and a full 70% have stayed in touch with someone they met on the road. Indian road warriors are the most likely to hang out with colleagues at a bar or restaurant (61.05%) and the most likely to catch up with friends who live in town (52.63%).

· Brazilians go it alone. At 31%, Brazilians are the least open to traveling with a colleague, with 53.62% reporting that they don’t want to have to worry about anyone else. They are also the least likely to hang out with colleagues at a bar or restaurant (30.93%).

Lana Del Rey Releases Music Video for New Track ‘Burning Desire’

Song also set to appear as soundtrack for new short film by Jaguar and Ridley Scott Associates

February 15, 2013: Brit and Ivor Novello award winner Lana Del Rey today released the video for ‘Burning Desire’. It was written and composed by the singer songwriter and will feature as the title track to a special film called ‘Desire’ starring Golden Globe winner Damian Lewis, which has been created by Jaguar and the award winning producers Ridley Scott Associates.

The ‘Burning Desire’ music video was filmed on location in South East London at the infamous Rivoli Ballroom, a Grade II listed former cinema that was transformed in the 1950’s and is the only remaining intact ballroom from its period in London.

The distinctive venue’s eclectic mix of neo-classical, deco style perfectly complements Lana’s original style. In the video she is seen wearing a vintage Ghost floor length silk dress as she performs the track.

Friday 15th February 2013, Panjim, Goa: A FREE medical checkup camp by experienced vets, animal doctors and specialists will be held as part of the Indiyaah Pets Carnival 2013 to be held at Goa from 8 to 10th March.

A specialized Pet Clinic and an Animal Hospital will be set up at the Indiyaah Pets Carnival 2013 with a state-of-the art operation theatre for minor surgeries, digital X-ray, Ultra sonography, computerized eye and dental checkups, vaccinations, 2D eco cardiography and skin care. Vet Dermatologists, Pet Cardiac specialists and other highly experienced medical experts from various parts of India and abroad will operate the hospital and clinic. While the medical checkup is completely FREE, other medical services will be charged at very nominal and reasonable rates.

A seminar on Emergency First Aid for Pets by Dr. Achina Joglekar of Pet Land Veterinary Clinic, Miramar will be held on the second day of the Indiyaah Pets Carnival.

Jolly has begun his search for witnesses for the case of his life that is about to reopen on March 15th across theatres in India. For this, he unveiled his witness box, at a Multiplex theatre in Andheri West, Mumbai on Saturday, 16th Feb, 2013. He requested the people to come forward and support him in his battle.

As someone who hasn’t won a case in his life and has faced struggles in every sense of the word so far, Jolly also distributed pamphlets advertising himself to get the attention of the movie goers. All that he wants right now is to win the case on March 15th. He hopes this will help him get a few big cases in his pocket!

Luger Shiva Keshavan initiates revolutionary campaign promising to sport on his Olympic racing suit, the name of every person who shares his video online

February 14th, 2013, Mumbai: Shiva Keshavan K P is India’s only medal hope at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, the world famous sporting event that takes place once every four years.30-year-old Keshavan is the country’s first and only athlete who practices and excels in the little known sport of Luge, the fastest and most dangerous of the 3 Olympic sliding sports. Lugers, as they are referred to, use a sled to race supine and feet-first, reaching astonishing speeds of over 140 km per hour.

Shiva Keshavan (full name Shiva Keshavan K P; born August 25, 1981) is the first Indian to compete in Luge at the Winter Olympic Games. Keshavan was supported by the Indian Government for the Olympic Season of 2009-10 and given a special award by the Sports Minister for winning the first-ever international medal for India in any winter sport.

Early Life

Hailing from a remote village in the Himalayan Range, Keshavan’s interest in winter sports began at a very young age. The patients were excited to meet their favorite on-screen celebrities in person and get closer to them. I could’nt control my emotions after meeting several healing patients from babies to grandmothers, all trying to fight for survival.
