The multi faceted personality of Abhishek Bachchan

Abhishek Bachchan was in the studios of 92.7 BIG FM along with director Rohit Shetty to promote their latest movie Bol Bachchan.

Unlike the typical promotion for a newly released movie the interaction that RJ Yamini had with Abhishek on 92.7 BIG FM brought to light many different facets of his personality. During his hour long chat with RJ Yamini as well as a few lucky listeners, they heard the voice of smart and thinking marketer, a loving father, an understanding husband & a talent spotter.

As they began RJ Yamini thanked Abhishek for coming to 92.7 BIG FM, in response Abhishek said he was aware of the channels reach across the many small and big cities and towns across India and that as an artist he was keen to connect with fans to engage in a two way communication to get their unbiased views on his latest movie. He added that radio was the only platform where he could get this feedback instantly. When quizzed by some listeners about Aishwarya and ‘Baby B’ Aradhya and who he loved more, Abhishek patiently said that no father on earth can ever answer that question like that. Both were an integral part of his life and he needed them both to make him complete.

Speaking about the movie he reveled an unknown story of a young boy Mudarar, who choreographed one of the dances in it. He said that they both got along famously and worked in perfect sync, while Mudarar choreographed the moves, he left it to Abhishek to give his work that extra zest with his dramatic gestures and expressions. Abhishek said that he was surprised to see such talent and professionalism in someone so young.

McAfee Labs on Hacktivism: On verge of digital civil war?

India,16 July,2012-Between Anonymous, Cyber-Occupiers and Cyber-Armies, the public is still trying hard to make sense of it all. McAfee Labs believes that if Anonymous remains “unclear” in focus and continues to accept anyone who signs on to act on their behalf, that we may be on the verge of a digital civil war. In response, McAfee Labs has created a whitepaper that clearly defines and assess the impact of the modern hacktivist movement.

McAfee Labs predicted that in 2012, hacktivist digital disruptions would join forces with physical demonstrators, and target large public figures more than ever before. We are seeing proof of this now, as Anonymous’ public upset against CISPA educed a battle cry for those to take a physical stand.

A video titled “Operation Defense. Phase II,” calls on Americans to organize protests at the local offices of companies that supported the bill recently adopted by the House. The video provides exact details of the time, place and nature of the protests – including AT&T in May, and Pepsi and Coca Cola next week.

The detailed hacktivism whitepaper can be found at :

Actress Bhumika Chawla’s favourite monsoon tracks

Monsoons are here, a season of romance and a season to fall in love. If not for love and romance the rains would only mean dirt and murk. Recently we spoke to the Tere Naam girl and she shares with us her love for the season. She enjoys the soft weather with a hot cup of coffee and her favorite songs that enrich the experience as she looks out at the sea from her Juhu residence. She says she loves the portrayal of monsoons in our films.

So does she actually “feel” the romance in the rains? What are her favorite monsoon tracks? A slow smile spreads across her face as she replies, “What a lovely season it is- the monsoons! I feel like drenching in every drop of the rains. But since that is not always possible I drench myself into the lovely songs and monsoon music our industry has to offer! Such lovely numbers and there are so many of them but a few favorite picks of mine would be “Rimjhim Rimjhim” from “1942 a love story”. Anil Kapoor and Manisha Koirala romancing in the rains, just too beautiful! Also the “Bhage re man kahin” song from film “Chameli” in the voice of Sunidhi Chauhan is a treat to ears and to top it, Kareena looks dazzling in the picturisation of the song. Kishor da and Lata didi’s song “Rimjhim Gire sawan” is still a famous number amongst the audience and is my favorite as well. And the song “Bheegi Bheegi raaton main” is a heart touching song without this romantic song rainy season becomes dull. And yet another song which is close to my heart is the song picturised on Big B and late Smita Patil “Aaj rapat jaye to”. The chemistry between Smitaji and Amitji is just too picture perfect!”

Having had now, a thorough knowledge about Bhumika’s favorite tracks for the monsoon, what will be your pick for season?

“A Melody in the Haunted”

where the Producer Sree Laxmi Reddy and

Director Viswa C came together to

highlight the main concept of the Film and interact with the media.

A Melody in the Haunted — a Horror Flick

There are many Films made on the spiritual power and had succeeded also in making people believe that there are supernatural powers around us.

And now comes Producer Sree Laxmi Reddy with a film “A Melody In The Haunted” based on the supernatural powers directed by Viswa C and the starcast includes Rajiv Kanakala, Master Vijay, Priya Naidu and Aadvik. And this story doesn’t only deals with the belief but also showcase the truth being presented infront of the world.

The story promises to present the true scenario of the human being on being accepting the truth of supernatural powers present around.

The story depicts that In the year 2002 – Rajiv Kanakala (aged 40) found some handy cam tapes shot by his childhood friend Ashok Verma & his family – before they died in a house – which is haunted (at least that’s what neighbors believe).

Those tapes revealed some supernatural occurrences and are beyond human reasoning. Police could not explain them but closed the case – citing reason as, parents (i.e. Ashok & Aarthi) committing suicide and killing their kid (Sonu) due to psychological problems.

But Rajiv is not convinced, still deeply disturbed at what he saw, he wanted to show to the world the TRUTH (the TRUTH as believed by Rajiv & confirmed by Professor Shivanathan, a veteran on spiritual matters – the TRUTH being discarded by law enforcement and non-believers).

How Rajiv wanted to show the truth was by making a movie based on the real scenes in the tapes. Real footage comes in the middle as per the story flow and the scenes/shots before & after them is enacted by actors to make the story flow in logical direction.

With this prologue/introduction of around 15 minutes in documentary format the STORY BEGINS to show what happened in that one day and one fateful night. And ENDS with resolving all the real footage tape scenes earlier shown (as part of the prologue/introduction).

Pitobash Tripathy

Well known for essaying noteworthy roles in the films like ‘I am Kalam’ and ‘Shor in the city’, gifted actor Pitobash Tripathy is playing an important lead role in debutant director Manish Manikpuri’s musical venture ‘Aalaap’. The award winning actor briefs about his role and experiencesabout his forthcoming movie in a candid conversation to Devyani P Korgaonkar.

Let me first know about your journey in Aalaap.

Pitobash: The movie is based on Naxalism in the state of Chhattisgarh; it is on the youth of Chhattisgarh. The film is addressing the biggest problem the state is facing for years and also offering a solution to this. The people there have suffered a lot and we just tried to address the issue through this film in a positive manner. The story of Aalaap revolves around three aimless youngsters and I am one of them. My character is called Subhash; he is introvert, simple, very silent. In their journey, they chance upon meeting Rahul, the fourth person and they form a rock band together. They gradually become famous, and they get awarded. They realise that there are greater problems that need to be tackled in Chattisgarh that is infested by Naxalism. I played a very different character in this movie from my other films,

How was the experience while shooting in Chhattisgarh?

Pitobash: It was beautiful. We were shooting in zero to one degree centigrade. It was difficult though shooting in jungles, but it’s a wonderful experience. In one sentence,it was very interesting and exciting.

How did you like the concept of the movie?

Pitobash: See, I am from Odissa, I am accustomed to Naxalism. And since childhood I am fond of music. And this film is about music. So, when I heard the script, I instantly said yes, I loved the concept. The songs by Agnee are wonderful.

How was working with the director?

Pitobash:Well, Manishis a darling. He was my director as well my friend. And hence, we had a better understanding on the set.

How were your co-stars?

Pitobash: They were wonderful. We were shooting the movie for 60 to 65 days. If I talk Harsh, Amit, we had fun. Other than this, I learnt a lot from veteran actors and professionals like Abhimanyu Singh and Vijay Raj.

Now, what will you say about the music in the movie?

Pitobash:There are six to seven songs in the movie. Most of the songs are played by us. Agnee has given wonderful music. The songs are very situational. The album has released now but I am listening to this for a year now. The songs like Sadho Re, Pa Pa Ra Pa are very good. I would say music is the USP of the movie.

What do reckon about the commercial success of the movie?

Pitobash: Well, see, I can’t talk about it. whoever will watch the movie will like it and tell others to watch it for sure.

What will be the unique selling point of the reboot Total Recall?

What newness will the reboot TOTAL RECALL bring for the audience is the question that’s been buzzing in every mind that has seen the old version starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Though the generation next will be newly introduced to this sci-fi thriller the oldies will have to watch out that they do not compare the two. And if they do, probably not much would have been changed.

The new Total Recall which is a Sony Pictures movie releases all over the globe on 3rd August. It stars Colin Farrell, Jessica Biel and Kate Beckinsale in the lead roles. The film is directed by Len Wiseman which brings the super talented couple Len and Kate back in action after the Underworld series (once again Len as the director and Kate as the actor).

Taking into consideration the old Lori from Paul Verhoeven’s version, the role of Kate if compared to that one might be measly 45 minutes which is a disheartening part for the fans of Kate. Jessica on the other hand will have to play the tough witty prostitute who becomes a crucial force to take the story ahead.

If compared to Arnold, Colin playing the role of Quaid becomes a tough fact to relish as the rough guy muscular look can never be matched up with the lean athletic body.

However, the movie is likely to pull in the crowd as the old version was a massive hit amongst the audience.

The Total Recall (old) which was released in 1990 was produced by Mario Kassar and Andrew G Vajna while the new version that is going to release this year is produced by Neal H Moritz and Toby Jaffe. Though both these versions are based on the same short story of Philip K Dick yet the new version will not be giving the audience the red hot devastating taste of planet Mars. Instead the new version story will take place in the time space of future Earth.

So what new will this story have in it if it’s not going to be a journey to Mars? The story has definitely switched the planets but will the concept of the film also switch with this one? And yet again we come back to the same question, what new shall this film offer the inquisitive audience? For that we all will have to wait for the film to release on 3rd August.
