Maharashtra team is the winner with 6 Gold, 12 Silver and 5 Bronze medals, total teams were 12 from all India. world Champion of Muay Thai Bala Shetty was also there to appreciate the players, Kailash Kher give them the Medals and said Muay thai is a art which belong to us in 18 century but now is here again and I hope this sports will get more popular as more championship will be organized.

Indo-US Trade in merchandise goods crosses US $ 62 bn in 2012

Mumbai, February 11, 2013 – Trade and commerce form a crucial component of the rapidly expanding and multi-faceted relations between India and the United States.

According to the recent statistics the total Indo-US Trade in Merchandise goods for the Calendar year 2012 (January-December) is US$ 62.85 billion with balance of trade surplus of US$ 18.18 billion in favor of India. This is an increase of 9.66 % over the same period in previous year. US Exports to India have gone up by 3.88 % from US$ 21.5 billion to US$ 22.34 billion and US Imports from India have gone up by 13 % from US$ 36.15 billion to US$ 40.85 billion during the year 2012.

Major items of exports from India to USA include textiles & woven apparel, precious stones and metals (diamond); pharmaceutical products; mineral fuel (oil); lac, gums and resins; Organic chemicals; agricultural products (tree nuts, spices, essential oils, rice and vegetable oils); electrical and other machinery.

During the year 2012, India imported the following major items from USA: raw precious stones and metals; machinery; mineral fuel and oil; optical instruments and equipment’s; electrical machinery; aircraft parts; organic chemicals; agricultural products (fresh fruit, cotton and pulses) and plastic products.

The recent opening up of the Indian economy and policy reforms in multi-brand retail, civil aviation and banking amendments will further boast bilateral trade and investments between the two countries said Mr. R.K. Chopra, Secretary General of the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce.

Reliving the Leopold moments with RGV

“I would not term The Attacks of 26/11 a film. It is something you can
only experience — you will walk out of the theatre silently. Ramu’s
chronicling of the attacks is so gripping. Why I did the film? It is
because it shows why such incidents happen and I like Ramu’s comment
of the subject.” Thus echoed Nana at the music launch of The Attacks
of 26/11 at the Leopold Cafe. Unlike other musical events, this one
was replete with stories by survivors Reuters Journalist Sourav Mishra
and Filmmaker Kate Chailate, soulful singing by Sukhwinder, Rooshin
Dalal and Sooraj Jagan, and moments relived by RGV and Nana.
Said Ram Gopal Varma, “The idea to hold it at Leopold was because the
place mattered to the film. We shot at Leopold Cafe because I could
think of no better location that this to bring out the significance of
this occasion.
The mood was sombre and the event did not resemble a typical Bollywood
movie music launch and there was a dash of pathos in Nana’s voice,
tremendous restraint in Ram Gopal Varma’s demeanour and a few drop of
tears in Kate’s eyes.

Sherlyn celebrates her Birthday and Womanhood

Mumbai, 11th February 2013: While celebrities like throwing a bash or taking a vacation on their birthdays, Sherlyn decided to be different as she celebrated her birthday in ‘special’ company. The model turned actress was at ‘Kamathipura’, Mumbai’s oldest and Asia’s 2nd largest red light district. Sherlyn feels that sex workers are considered an ‘outcast’ by the society which is prejudicial. Hence she wanted to make them feel special and decided to spend her birthday moments with them.

It was during her stay in Los Angeles in July last year that there was a phenomenal shift in her level of consciousness.

While Bollywood has been to Kamathipura several times for movie shoots, no one has been thoughtful to spend personal time with sex workers. Meena (name changed) was very excited about the fact that Sherlyn chose to celebrate the occasion with the ladies of Kamathipura. Focus Kids launches ‘Internet for Kids’, a first-of-its-kind initiative aimed at championing the cause of ‘Responsible Usage of Internet for Kids’

February 11th2013, Mumbai: Focus Kids, India’s only integrated kid’s media company has launched ‘Internet for Kids’, a first-of-its-kind initiative that is aimed at championing the cause of ‘Responsible Usage of Internet for kids’. Internet for Kids is a downloadable PDF guide that will help parents to have an active dialogue with their children about internet usage which is more ‘constructive’ than ‘restrictive’. The campaign revolves around three key principles – LEARN, TALK and EXPLORE. LEARN-Parents and children need to know internet better. Parents, in order to ensure their children have a safe, well regulated and effective internet usage; and children to understand the medium and how it can be helpful to them. TALK-Discussing and talking about the doubts, myths, confusions, concerns in the most open manner is very important for both parents and children. EXPLORE -It is important for parents and children to explore the various benefits of the internet, as it is a wonderful and ever evolving resource of information. Speaking on the launch of Internet for Kids, Mr. Swapnil Puranik, Business Head, Focus Kids said, “The Internet is an excellent medium for kids to learn and explore. Today, it has become a way of life for both – parents and kids, making it imperative for them to understand this medium better. Having worked with various kid’s brands and schools in the past, our intention is to inculcate the culture of responsible internet usage in kids across India, and increase awareness among parents, through an initiative like this.”

As an extension to the campaign, Focus Kids will be organizing interactive sessions in various schools across select cities in India, which have commenced from 8th of February 2013.Colorful posters spreading awareness about the Good Internet versus Bad Internet sessions will be displayed in the schools prior to the same. During these sessions a brief will be provided by a Focus Kids representative and an edutainment video will be played, demonstrating the difference between good internet habits versus bad internet influence. A quick quiz will be held at the end to gauge the understanding of participants. A Good Internet tracker will be provided to all participants to keep a tab on useful websites they will be visiting through the year.

As a social responsibility aspect of the campaign, Focus Kids plans to donate desktops units to deserving schools across Maharashtra, for every 1000 downloads of the Internet for Kids guide. This donation-drive will not only help encouraging downloads of the Internet for Kids guides, but will serve needy schools with quality internet access, in a bid to usher in a fresh medium of learning. Focus Kids plans to reach out to 400 schools across the country through this campaign.

The Internet for Kids PDF will be available on the following website www.internetforkids.in.It is an easy-to-follow guide with a colorful representation of the information. Parents or kids wishing to download the document can do so using either their email id’s, or logging-in with their Facebook accounts, which will display on their profiles participation in the initiative. The Good Inernet versus bad internet video will be accessible on the website. Information and photos capturing the desktop donation drive and Good Internet versus Bad Internet demonstrations being organized at schools will be displayed on the website.
