Evolution Grappling Indian Open is back in India

– Superman of wrestling in Oberoi Mall –

 

Oberoi Mall, Mumbai’s premium retail mall and Evolution Combat Sports Academy, have announced the Evolution Grappling Indian Open-2, the second edition of Brazilian JiuJitsu & Submission Wrestling Tournament in India, on June 05 – 06, 2014 in its premises. The highlight of the event is renowned American wrestler JJ Ambrose (also known as Superman) will act as one of the officials during the event.

 

Oberoi Mall is proficient in its efforts to bring the mother of martial arts(invented by Buddhists monks in India) back to India and promote this beneficial art form here.

 

“Evolution Grappling Indian Open”, the event will be held in 6 age categories: Kids (Below 10 years), Sub- Juniors (10-13 years), Junior Boys (14- 18 years), Junior Girls (14- 18 years), and Adult Men & Women (over 18 years). These age groups will be further divided in to weight categories. Winners of each category will be awarded with medals and certificates. Also, special awards will be given to ‘Grappler of the Tournament’ & ‘Team of the Tournament’. The goal is to make EGIO into an Asian Level tournament.

 

Brazilian JiuJitsu is not only a martial art, but also a sport or a method that promotes physical fitness and builds self confidence and character in young people. It is also an excellent form of self-defence to empower Indian women.

 

 

J J Ambrose Profile 

J.J. Ambrose (born February 6, 1987) is an American mixed martial artist who fought in Affliction and Bellator. J.J also was one of the 32 contestants shortlisted for The Ultimate Fighter GSP VS Koshcheck.

J.J. Ambrose currently holds a professional Mixed Martial Arts record consisting of Total 26 fights. He has won 20fights out of 25 with 4 fights coming by the way of knockout, 12 fights via submissions & 4 fights via decision.

J.J is travelling to India for the first time and will be part of the officials during the Evolution Grappling Indian Open 2 . He will also be conducting a 1 day Mixed Martial Arts/ Submission Wrestling seminar post the event at Evolution Combat Sports Academy to share his skills and experience that he has gathered over last 8 years competing professionally.
