Emraan is a great kisser’ says Bipasha to Sid K on Oye! 104.8FM

New Delhi September 11, 2012 – Oye! 104.8 FM Sabse filmi had an intimate time with Bipasha Basu on renowned chat show host Siddharth Kannan’s show, ‘Oye! Talkies. The show turned out to be a good mix of laughter, fun and loads of heartfelt moments where Bips spoke her heart out. When Sid said he was getting jealous of this new man in her life, she said ‘Brad’ was the name that she had given her car, because of her love for Brad Pitt. Sid further asked Bipasha that she comes across as a confident and strong lady and if is she is like that from within also? Bips replied” I am the biggest ‘Phattu’ in the world, I get scared even when someone is staring at me!’ She further said the way Sid looked at her was so cute; He had the ‘look of love’ for her!

Sid then told her she can’t be a ‘phattu’ because she has survived so many tough situations in life. Bips then opened her heart out and said ’Today I am a refined actor, lived a little more life, have seen a lot, handle situations, not just a relationship, career wise I have fallen down, come up again, I have had my run of relationship crisis, staying away from my parents for a long time, loans to pay at times I didn’t know how to pay. From 1997-2012 I lived a wholesome life, moved from 1 room to I bhk to 2bhk sharing with a friend, first bought a car but didn’t know how to drive and also couldn’t afford a driver. Finally my friends ended up driving so I realized there was no point of buying a car. I had a very broken life , yes sometimes broken down, sometimes very strong, so I feel I am a very evolved human being right now.’

Sid then asked her why does she not like it when people call Emraan a serial kisser? Bips went bang on saying: ‘’I accept it that Emraan is a fantastic and very good kisser but beyond that he is also a fantastic actor’

Trust Sid not to be left behind: ’By the way, even some RJ’s are great kissers!’To this both of them cracked up with peals of laughter!

When Sid asked Bipasha if she felt insecure with this newer lot of actresses hitting the big screen, she replied ‘There is only one Bipasha , Katrina, Kareena. No one can become another Bipasha , Katrina and Kareena.. You live and stay with your mark!’ replied the Raaz 3 star.

Bips also confessed that she would like to be an RJ just like Sid and call her show ‘Love yourself’ where she would make people understand how to love one’s own self. Sid naughtily told her –‘If I had a show called Love Bipasha, it would undoubtedly get me more ratings than your show!’

Bipasha sure seemed to have the time of her life chatting with Sid K on Oye 104.8 FM

BREAKING NEWS: SRK-Kat starrer titled Jab Tak Hai Jaan!

In 1975, Gabbar Singh told Basanti, “Jab tak tere paaon chalenge uski sans chalegi.” And the chammak challo from Sholay danced crazy to the beat of the RD Burman number “Jab tak hai jaan, jaane jahaan, main naachoongi.”

Thirty-seven years later, comes Shah Rukh Khan on a Royal Enfield bike, riding high on his superstar days; almost making a comeback of sorts with his first mentor Yash Chopra’s movie, co-starring his contemporary Salman Khan’s on-and-off-girlfriend Katrina Kaif, in a film by the YRF banner, which shot him to dizzying heights years ago with Darr.

As we all know, it’s been the first time in the history of Bollywood, that a filmmaker had kept the title of his movie ‘under wraps’ till its neared release. Even as a teaser of the movie was out recently with the theatrical release of Ek Tha Tiger, everyone was kept wondering what its title was!

But the cat is finally out of the bag. The Yash Raj Films SRK-Katrina starrer has been titled Jab Tak Hai Jaan, sounding like an ode to the Sholay song, with music for the film composed by AR Rehman.

“Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra were really happy that Hema Malini continued to dance her emotions out with the song in Sholay,” quips Bollywood PR guru Dale Bhagwagar. “What better title for SRK than one which consolidates his never-ending box-office romp. It aptly compliments his never-say-die attitude,” adds the publicity expert, complimenting the intelligent title.

We don’t know much about others, but it sure would make Hema Malini very very happy!

Scheduled for a November 13, 2012 release, the film, also starring Anushka Sharma in the lead, is believed to be a love triangle and marks the return of Yash Chopra as a director after a gap of eight years; his last film being Veer-Zaara in 2004.

Meanwhile, there are rumours that the theatrical trailer of Jab Tak Hai Jaan will be released on the filmmaker’s birthday on September 27.

Priyanka Chopra goes Green once more

With the Ganesha festival around the corner the entire city has begun to prepare itself including our very own Piggy Chops who has always been a crusader for the environment. Priyanka Chopra has lent her support to the BIG Green Ganesha Campaign of 92.7 BIG FM by donating newspapers that will go toward building eco-friendly Ganesha Idols from Paper Mache. PC has long been a green supporter and has also been seen as a Green Style Statement Ambassador for an environment campaign. Tradition dictates that seeking Lord Ganesha’s blessings before an auspicious event garners success and good luck and it seems that Priyanka’s efforts to appease the Lord may have something to do with her upcoming projects. With her next big release as an autistic girl in Barfi! and her much-awaited single In My City, from her maiden international album to launch next week, it seems that PC could well use a few blessings. And what better way to do it than by lending her name to a noble environmental cause!

Elite Athletes field for Airtel Delhi Half Marathon

World’s fastest Athlete, Tsegay to lead ADHM field

The world’s fastest half marathon of the year, Ethiopian Atsedu Tsegay, has confirmed his participation for the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon, with the sole aim of attempting to lower the world record. The 21-year-old Tsegay clocked 58.47 when wining the Prague half marathon in March 2012, his attempt at the world record thwarted by the windy conditions there. However, a 6.30 am start in New Delhi and the flat course should give Tsegay perfect conditions to attempt to lower the world record that stands at 58.23, set by Zersenay Tadese in 2010.

Tsegay will lead a talented field of fellow Ethiopians, among them defending champion Lelisa Desisa and course record holder Deriba Merga, who will be engaged in an exciting battle for supremacy with a super fast athletes field from Kenya, when the eighth edition of the world’s most prestigious half marathon will be flagged off from the iconic Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on September 30, 2012.

Besides a total prize money purse of USD 210,000, the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon will also offer a bonus of USD 25000 for a new world record and USD 10000 for a new course record. The Ethiopians and Kenyans lead a powerful field of men’s athletes, with representation also from Morocco, Tanzania, South Africa and Bahrain will 11 athletes have personal bests of sub-60 minutes.

Also in great shape is countryman Lelisa Desisa, the defending champion, who will also be attempting to lower the world record. Desisa, who has a personal best of 59.30, will be running his first half marathon this year. The course record is also there to be broken, but standing in the way will be the man who holds it, Deriba Merga. Merga, two-time past winner of the event, holds the course record of 59.15, set in 2009, and on current form, which saw him clock 59.48 while finishing second in the Ney York City Half Marathon recently, is also one of the contenders for the top spots.

The Kenyan challenge will be spearheaded by Ezekiel Chebii, who clocked 59.05 while winning the Lille Half Marathon early this month. Running alongside him will be Gilbert Masai, who clocked 59.57 while finishing 4th at Lille. Leonard Langat, with a personal best of 59.52 and Peter Kamais, with a personal best of 59.53 are the other notable Kenyans. Moroccan Abdellah Fathi, Tanzanian Dickson Marwa and South African Lucky Modike are the other names to watch out for.

The women’s race too will see a battle between the Kenyans and Ethiopians, with Namibia’s Helalia Johannes, who finished 12th in the marathon at the London Olympics, emerging as the dark horse. The Kenyans will be led by Helah Kiprop and Caroline Kilel, with Helen Kimutai and Irene Mogaka also names to watch out for.

Helah, the winner of the World 10K Bangalore 2012, also won the Groesbeek 10K and the Zwolle Half Marathon in 2012 and has three sub-70 half marathon finishes this year. Caroline Kilel, who has a personal best of 68.16, clocked a fast 68.26 while finishing 2nd in the Houston Half Marathon 2012 and is also winner of the Boston Marathon 2011.

The Ethiopian challenge will be spearheaded by Aselefech Mergia, twice winner here and winner of the Dubai Marathon 2012, and Belaynesh Oljira, winner of the Houston Half Marathon 2012. Also among the notables will be Yimer Wude and Ashu Kasim, who clocked a fast 2:23.09 while winning the Xiamen Marathon recently.

Namibian Helalia, Moroccan Malika Asahssah and Tanzanian Mary Naali can also spring a surprise.

Progression of winning times: The Delhi Half Marathon has seen a steady progression in the winning times of the men and women, with Kenyan Philip Rugut winning the first edition in 2005 in a timing of 61.54 minutes and Lelisa Desisa stopping the clock at 59.30 in 2011. In between was Merga’s super fast timing of 59.15 set in 2008, which remains the course record.

Among the women, the first edition saw Russia’s Irina Timofeyeca winning in 70.35, while Kenyan Lucy Kabuu breasted the tape in 67.04 in 2011. The course record for the women stands in the name of Kenyan Mary Keitany, who clocked an incredible 66.54 while winning in 2009. Keitany also holds the world record of 65.50.

Seth charms an MP with a song!

Firebrand Sambhavna Seth never stops amusing us! The latest on this spunk-chick is that she has gone ahead and performed a song in the praise of an MP. No, not an actor, performing as an MP! But a REAL Member of Parliament!

The politician is Raju Shetti who is said to have started out as a marginal farmer in Shirol village in Kolhapur and finally rose to become an MLA, and later an MP in the 15th Lok Sabha of India.

The film called Senani, which will be released in Marathi as well as Hindi, has a song dedicated to the politician, who will also feature in it! Sambhavna will be seen singing praises in his honour and even dancing for him.

“Mind you, it’s not an item song,” quips Sam. Recalling her shoot, she says, “The film-makers have specially done this song in praise of Raju Shetti because he’s made a difference to the people of his constituency and they wanted to showcase that. While shooting with him, I realized that he was a thorough gentleman and the masses there loved him like crazy.”

Recalling her stint in Bigg Boss, where one of her Housemates included another politician Sanjay Nirupam, Sam remarks, “During tasks given to us on the show, Nirupam always used to say, he cannot sing and dance because of his public image. Though Raju Shetti didn’t have to dance in this song, he did not have any such hang-ups either.”

Kamaal Dhamaal moments with hens!

What does Shreyas Talpade do to keep fit? Looking at Percept Pictures’ Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal event, it looks like rooster-and-hen-catching is the secret of his health!

Actors Shreyas Talpade and Madhhurima got together at R City Mall in Ghatkopar on Sunday evening for the Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal, hen-catching and jalebi eating contests. The enthusiasm and energy was evident while hundreds of onlookers cheered them and they gave away prizes to winners of the murgi-pakdo and jalebi-eating competitions. But the real fun came when Madhhurima and Shreyas Talpade entered the ring and tried catching the hens themselves. And everyone had a blast!

All in all, a kamaal dhamaal Sunday evening indeed!

RIWAYAT” a good script, story but slightly weak narration.

100 million girls are missing around the world. They’re killed at birth or even before they’re born….is a shocking caption which comes in first frame of film, although the film is quit thought provoking, it forces you to give a second thought if you think to have son instead of baby girl. This film would have been made in better way.

Riwayat shows struggle of lawyer-plus-NGO worker Anita (Samapika, enthusiastic but saddled with few expressions and excessive dubbing) against the riwayat or custom in village Gangapur – and her own marital family – of murdering girl children, considered liabilities. Anita takes on cook Radha’s drunken husband Gangaram (Apoorva Lakhia, justified), an unbothered village doctor (Rajendra Gupta, convincing in his character), a helpful driver cum friend Kabir (Narendra Jha, impressive), a careless police force, a sleazy sarpanch and her own control freak father-in-law (Sourabh Dubey, as a regressive elder) whose pressure to have male grandchildren wrecks his elder son Dipak (Salil Ankola, picturesque, handsome but blank by face) and Dipika’s (Achint Kaur) marriage, Dipika after several abortion becomes alcoholic, on other hand Anita’s own husband Raj (Khalid Siddique, smart looking but again blank) is also a target of his father to have a male child – but situations change everything and Anita is also expecting her own girl child ?

Film has good camerawork by Suresh Suvarna, melodious music by Sushil Lalji especially one by Late Jagjit Singh, nice background music, good effort by producers Dr.Sanjay Patole & Dr.Ajay Rane, director Vijay Patkar should have given some more effort. Hope it creates some awareness as it has also bagged many national and international awards.
