The second edition of this tournament will see 27 Mumbai’s most eminent school teams playing for the top slot


Mumbai, September 01, 2014: Cricket India Academy (CIA) is the cricket division of Sports Education Development India Ltd (SEDIL), a leading sports development company, will kick start the second season of its much popular  ‘Under-13 Inter-School Monsoon Cup 2014 (Season2)’ in Mumbai between September 3rd to September 22 at Kohinoor Cricket Academy (KCA), Off Kirol Road, Kurla (W) Mumbai. Further adding feather to Cricket India Academy tournaments “U-13 Inster-School Monsoon Cup 2014 (Season2)” has registered more than 40% increase in the number of school applications, raising the participation to 27 eminent School teams from 16 School teams as compared to last season, all the matches to be played on Kohinoor Cricket Academy – home cricket grounds of CIA. To grace the Launch ceremony Mr. Arun K Khetan, CEO SEDIL will be the Chief Guest.

Along with successfully completing the first season of Inter School U-13 Monsoon Cup last year, CIA has also successfully conducted the Under-10 Invitational Tournament (Season 1 & 2), U-12 Inter-School Cricket India CUP (Season 1) and U-12 Premier League (Season 1 & 2). This U-13 category Inter School Tournament is now a regular feature in the annual cricket season for Cricket India Academy.

The inception behind this tournament is to provide the participants with the chance to hone their skills in the off season of the sport helping them to develop and maintain their fitness and team spirit before the start of the season. This will also provide a good platform for the students to think out of the box in such unusual conditions of the game and help in the decision making process.

27 School Cricket teams will be divided into eight groups. The structure of the tournament will start with league matches where in there are total 8 groups, out of which 5 groups comprise of 3 teams and 3 groups comprise of 4 teams. League Matches shall be followed by the Knock-out stage. Top two teams from each group will qualify for Knockout stage. Thus total 16 teams shall escalate to pre-quarter final stage
