Bangalore, 19th July, 2014: The run-up to PUMA Urban Stampede in Bangalore saw a unique relay race featuring a number of senior executives representing the top corporates of the city. Called ‘Battle of the Boardrooms’, this first of its kind activity is aimed at executives who lead by example to spread the message of health and fitness. The Battle of the Boardrooms was held at The Royal Orchid Hotel on Saturday, 19th July 2014.

PUMA Urban Stampede Powered by Flipkart, India’s first and only National Corporate Relay comes to Bangalore on 3rd August 2014. The PUMA Urban Stampede Powered by Flipkart has three formats, the Corporate Relay (4runners per team X 5km per runner) – all 4 runners must necessarily be from the same company and the Open Challenge (2 runners per team X 10km per runner) – The two runners need not work for the same organisation or company. A new addition to the run is the individual 5 k where you don’t need a partner or team to run!

The ‘Battle of the Boardrooms’ is an opportunity for captains of industry to meet and spend time talking about running and about business. The Battle of the Boardrooms in Bangalore saw head honchos of companies like Goldman Sachs, SAP Labs, Microsoft, Phillips, Sony, Toyota, HP, Shell, Dell, KPMG and Wadhwani Foundation participate enthusiastically.

The Battle of the Boardrooms was structured as a relay where teams of two from the above companies fought it out for first place in the 100m relay race.

“It was a wonderful Bangalore morning today with 20 teams from some of the top companies to help us launch the PUMA Urban Stampede powered by Flipkart with a run. Runners for Life is absolutely thrilled to be back home in Bangalore with the biggest PUMA Urban Stampede powered by Flipkart to date. We are expecting 4,000 participants and over 200 companies joining in this year.” said, Arvind Bharathi – Head, Runners for Life.
