Celebrations galore at Anandi-Shiv engagement

It is time for joyous dances, mehendi and celebration on COLORS show, Balika Vadhu. After going through an hurtful experience because of her divorce with Jagya, happy times are back in Anandi and her family’s life as she is now all set to get engaged to her ideal man, Shiv Raj Shekhar who has been with her and supported her through several ups and down including the death of her mother. With the family members of both sides excited about the impending nuptials, it is going to be celebrations galore on Balika Vadhu.

Joining in the celebrations is Giaa Manek who was last seen on COLORS show, Jhalak Dikkhala Jaa.. After giving some splendid performances on JDJ, Gia and her partner and friend Nishant gave a magical performance at Anandi and Shiv’s enagagement. Draped in dark pink saree, Giaa showed off some of her famous dance moves on the popular song Morni Bagama Bole. Dressed in traditional Rajasthani attire, both of them along with other dancers performed to Kacchi Ghodi and fire dance forms. Although taken by surprise due to Giaa and Nishant’s presence, the family members did not hesitate to join in the dances. The families were so excited to be a part of the celebrations that Gia made Kalyani and Dadisa also join in. Even Anandi and Shiv could not help themselves and performed on Hiwada Lamhe and Phir Raat Kate from Paheli.

Speaking about her cameo in Balika Vadhu, Giaa Manek said,” Pratyusha and I know each other since our Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa days. We got along really well and hence I wanted to be a part of this special surprise for Anandi on her special occasion. This is the first time I am trying to do Rajasthan’s traditional dance that involved balancing a pot with fire on my head. ” Overwhelmed by Giaa and Nishant’s presence, Pratyusha Banerjee who plays Anandi said,” Giaa is a very close friend and I am glad that they came here to join in Anandi and Shiv’s new beginning. This is a very special day in Anandi’s life and Giaa presence has made it even more special.”

Bigg Boss sparks new debate and controversy!

Bollywood PR guru Dale Bhagwagar’s suggestion that the upcoming Season 6 of India’s biggest reality show Bigg Boss “could target generation next to expand its fan-base to children and teens,” has caused an uproar in the industry circles.

Last week, while answering queries regarding Bigg Boss, the celebrity PR specialist also suggested that “the show could have a separate enclosure or playhouse specially constructed for kids, where they could make merry and also interact with superstar host Salman Khan.”

The idea has sparked a hot debate on whether it is okay to involve children in a reality show that is high on glamour, theatrics and politics, with ex-Housemates saying, it’s a ‘bad idea’!

In a report in Hindustan Times, actor Ashmit Patel said, “I don’t think it’s a good idea at all. The purpose of the show is to put the housemates under such extreme physical, mental, emotional stress that they crumble; thus providing drama and content. I don’t think it’s correct to put a child through this.” Coincidently, Bhagwagar was Ashmit’s publicist during his stormy stint in Season 4.

The report also quoted Miss Afghanistan Vida Samadzai of Bigg Boss Season 5, stating, “I wouldn’t want fragile teens or innocent children to be a part of this war zone.”

But singer-actress Raageshwari who participated in Season 6, seemed to side with Bhagwagar’s view as she commented, “Children need to be nurtured and loved, so if Bigg Boss promises tons of love and emotional protection to children, then it would be interesting to learn from them.”

For the record, Dale Bhagwagar has handled the media affairs for some of the most controversial Bollywood celebrities including Shilpa Shetty during Big Brother, and Bigg Boss contestants Rakhi Sawant, Kashmera Shah, Sambhavna Seth, Vindu Dara Singh, Sherlyn Chopra, Ashmit Patel, Amar Upadhyay and Pooja Misrra, from time to time.
