Mumbai, October 30, 2012 – Kid’s weekend entertainment dose just got a bit more exciting! Cartoon Network gears up for the launch of its global, multi-award winning, original animated series ‘The Amazing World of Gumball’ in India on November 4, airing every Sunday at 4pm. This technically ambitious production fuses 2D and 3D animation with live-action, laying the foundation for a new era of animated cartoon format. Holding the numero uno position since its launch in 2011, this worldwide hit has swooned kids with its apt narrative, comic timing, entertaining characters and global appeal.

The Amazing World of Gumball takes viewers through a story of an ordinary family – The Wattersons, who live in the extraordinary town of Elmore, and face challenges with their 12 year old son Gumball (a blue cat) and his bosom pal Darwin who spell misadventures for all! Gumball’s dad is a pink rabbit who stays at home while his mother works in a rainbow factory! Other interesting hooks loved by the kids will be Anais, a 4-year-old genius bunny, a tyrannosaurus – Tina Rex, a cheerleading peanut – Penny and a banana – Joe! Despite the numerous failed attempts at adventure, Gumball never seems to learn.

Talking about this series, Monica Tata, General Manager, Entertainment Networks, South Asia, Turner International India Pvt. Ltd. said. “Cartoon Network is proud to bring this internationally hit original series which has won the hearts of million kids globally to India. The innovative animation technique bridges the gap between fantasy and reality – a dream for every kid. The Amazing World of Gumball, a light hearted comic tale reiterates Cartoon Network’s commitment towards providing the best of international and local content.”

Episodic Synopsis – Day 22

Rajneeti in the Bigg Boss house

The day starts with an appropriate song – ‘Dikha de hame teri khoobiyan, show me your jalwa‘. The housemates rise & shine to indeed a political day ahead of them. Niketan & Vrijesh are seen talking in the kitchen area about Rajev & Sana. Vrijesh seems to be upset with Rajev’s overacting and pointless, demeaning jokes. After all the housemates are wide awake, Bigg Boss sends in a letter. Niketan reads out the letter to one and all explaining the ‘Rajneeti’ task. The housemates listen sincerely and get excited on learning the rules of this rather controversial game. Two teams are divided with Urvashi & Niketan as the party leaders, Rajev & Sidhu are their assistants respectively. The housemates giggle, laugh and feel the task is going to be a cakewalk.

The letter clearly mentions that the losing team will face some really harsh and unseen consequences. After a while, both the newly formed parties start their campaigns to pull in the rest of the housemates towards their respective parties. While Urvashi & gang use the ‘we’ll give you all you need’ as their slogan, Niketan & Sidhu use ‘woman empowerment’ as theirs’. The parties keep taunting the other party for some reason or the other. Slowly but steadily the housemates start on a convincing spree. Sampat seems to the hot topic, as she gets approached by Sana & Rajev. Sampat listens to everything and decides to stay strong and stick to Sidhu’s team. Sampat gets cheesed off about everyone trying to rope her in using the ‘Gulabi gang’ angle.

Sidhu, Niketan & Sampat make a plan on how to rope Karishma & Sapna into their party to overrule Urvashi. Aseem & Karishma are seen plotting their plan to join Sidhu’s gang, here Karishma is seen a little confused as she feels most of the girls are in Urvashi’s team especially Sana. Rajev is the next in line to try and convince Sampat to join their party. Sampat gets angry and tells Rajev & his gang to stay away from her and let her make her own decision. Rajev goes straight to his leader and complains about Sampat. Sana is called into the confession room and given a secret task by Bigg Boss. Sapna is seen running into the washroom area looking for Delnaaz. Sapna spots Sidhu napping and asks Delnaaz to wake him up as the whole house can suffer due to his sleep during the task. Sana plays her game rather cheekily.

Well, seems like the ‘Rajneeti’ was getting to the housemates as Rajev & Urvashi cook up a fake fight to influence Sidhu as he is very close to Urvashi. The fight does work well, and Urvashi makes the next move by trying to blackmail Sidhu emotionally to join her party. After sometime, to everyone’s surprise, Bigg Boss introduces yet another strenuous physical task called ‘keep the fire burning’ to all the housemates. The housemates seem a little confused when they read the letter. This is twenty four hour task and the housemates need to stay up the whole night till the wake up alarm. Delnaaz & Karishma are called in by Bigg Boss and punished for speaking in English too often. Vrajesh & Sapna are seen sorting out their differences they had a while ago regarding the task. Eventually Vrijesh convinces Sapna to join Sidhu’s gang to support Aseem & joins Urvashi’s gang to solve the emotional dynamics in the house. Sapna & Vrajesh join their respective parties. Bigg Boss makes a surprise announcement that leaves the entire house stunned. He announces that this coming week there will be two evictions and not one. The shell shocked housemates discuss the repercussions, sing , laugh and eventually only a few lucky ones go to sleep as the others are involved in the task.

‘I am scared of Salman Khan!’-Karan Johar reveals to Sid K on Oye 104.8 FM

New Delhi October 29, 2012: Oye! 104.8 FM Sabse filmi had a chat with Bollywood ace director Karan Johar & cast of “Student of the Year” movie on Siddharth Kannan’s show ‘Oye Talkies’. In the show, Karan Johan revealed that he is scared of Salman Khan. In response to Sid K’s question, which is that one actor in front of whom he cannot gather courage to open his mouth? Karan gave his no holds barred reply ‘Salman khan! When he came on my show ‘Lift Kara De’, I was sitting in my black suit, he was very animated, it was a very serious show. Salman Khan said, I am not going to sit here, I want to sit on floor and you will also have to sit on floor.’ Karan said that, I am very scared of Salman for some reason, I don’t know why, though he has been very wonderful to me, he is close to my family from a very long time, but I get nervous in front of him.

Talking about Karan’s star cast Siddharth asked Karan ‘Why do his two proteges Varun Dhawan and Siddharth Malhotra keep removing their shirts at the drop of the hat? Karan laughed ‘ Thank god ,Alia has not got inspired from them, If Alia kept doing the same as them, my film would have not been for the family audiences, it would been for a different kind of audience! ‘

Siddharth Malhotra then pulled Karan’s leg saying that ‘We got inspired by Karan to remove our clothes, because when we were shooting in Bangkok, he would remove his clothes and swim and people would watch, especially Varun who would watch Karan ‘chup chupke’ swimming bare bodied !’

Karan Johar said “I am not an exhibitionist, I had a private pool next to my room, I removed my clothes on my own and there was no one there! Mujhe public mein kapde utarna achcha nahi lagta! In fact Kajol warned and fired them not to remove their shirt in front of her when she came for a special appearance in my film! ‘They kept mum after that firing session by her!’

Siddharth Kannan further asked him -‘Since you are 40years now, don’t you want to get married?’ Karan revealed that ‘My mother is most happy that I am not married, as she does not need to share her jewellery with anyone! Sid further probed by asking, does he not feel lonely without a companion? In a contemplating mood Karan said-‘Loneliness is never pretty. I just want to make films. Why do to a spouse when you can do it with your films? My office has become my family. People who work in my office have become my world I really don’t feel the need for anyone!’

Karan said ‘I want to act desperate now. I am tired of playing myself in films and if Sid could request all the film makers who come on his show to cast Karan in a character role!’

Sid jokingly asked Karan Johar, why just a character role and not the lead in a film?’ To this Karan answered -‘Farhan made Rock On, if I do the lead, it will be called Rock Off!’

Karan Johar further confided to Sid K- “I am not a versatile filmmaker, I can do only one kind of film, I think I can do human emotional dramas, but I don’t think I can pull off action films, thrillers or do something which is completely edgy like I can’t make films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Udaan, Taare Zameen Par, they are all good films. That’s my biggest limitation!

Everyone thinks I am most expressive, but the truth is that I hold back! I don’t express my feelings to anyone! When I am hurt I keep it to myself, then after 2 to 3 years, it comes out in some other situation!

On the youth brigade he said, “These Kids want to be like Shahrukh, I just told them the way SRK shoots, takes the light, does not fumble even once and controls the camera with his eyes. No one, I repeat no one can ever do that! There is only one Shahrukh Khan!”
