Shoot of Mega TV Serial “Sadrakshanaay” was in full swing at S.J.Studio, Saki Naka wherein two units with approximately 100 artists were shooting for pilot episode. On one set of police station assistants of director Roopesh Rai Sikand were busy taking shots on various actors in police uniforms, while on other side Roopesh Rai Sikand was busy taking shot on lead actors Rajesh Shringarpure and Anjali Arora with junior artists posing as villagers.

On one side behind monitor producer Narendra Kumar Kaushik who is basically General Manger (Liason/Protocol) in a well known hospital namely Medanta – The Medicity in Gurgaon was watching shots on monitor with curiosity and excitement, we had a brief chat with Kaushik, he said as he belongs to medical field but his father was a DIG so somewhere a life of cop was within him and when he came to know about an IPS officer Krishna Prakash of Ahmadnagar who had solved more than 150 cases which were nearly impossible to solve, knowing about his honesty, dedication and sincerity towards his work, Narendra Kumar Kaushik got inspired by him and decided to make this serial on the crimes he solved with his commitment and presence of mind.

We asked director Roopesh Rai Sikand why he choose a subject based on a cops life, he said he has been constantly working in the direction of creating benchmarks in the Film Fraternity across the Nation through his excellent skills & innovative ideas which he has developed so far in the field of Film and Video Direction and when he got a subject which is full of excitement and thrill he couldn’t say no to it, he worked on near about 80 different real life incidents of IPS officer K.P and now is ready with script on it, about title “SADRAKSHANAAY” he says Sadrakshanaay means oath taken by a police officers to protect citizens and this is a serial based on the true story of a one man army cop depicting his hardships, dedication, honesty & modesty towards his duty and country, Sikand added I know there are some serials already on air based on police and crime stories, but this is something different and audience will definitely enjoy it.

Freedom is Yeh Khula Aasmaan, a hope stirring initiative for metro youth

I return my life for he gave it anyway. The fact is that, the debt was still not repaid to him.” Eminent lyricist Gulzar said the following words as his message for the LTMG anti-suicide outreach programme for the youth.

This comes on the wake of the Freedom is Yeh Khula Aasmaan movement by young director Gitanjali Sinha, who is coming out with her film on a young boy Raj Tandon who finds success in his roots through a kite-flying competition, at the instance of his grandfather Raghubeer Yadav.

Tying up with the suicide prevention cell, an initiative by Dr Suleman Merchant, the Acting Dean of LTMG Hospital and organisation Pratham that works towards education for underprivileged youngsters, Gitanjali Sinha along with producer Hemendra Aran, organised a kite-flying event to show how easy it is for youngsters to touch the skies if they choose to see the right perspective. It was heartening to see that Bollywood supported the move of this young director.

Actors Vaishali Desai, Viveck Vaswani, Sangram Singh, Payal Rohatgi, Aman Khan, Pitobash, Anya Anand and Raj Tandon, directors Anant Mahadevan, Shawn Arranha, Sunny Bhambhani, singer Victoria Polykova, composers Anand-Milind, and a whole load of celebs raced the gardens in Juhu and flew kites and enjoyed the feel.

While Shawn Arranha and Sanram Singh confessed they were kiteflyers, Vaishali Desai and Payal Rohatgi were content with the manja support. Anant Mahadevan preferred to fly kites and et the better of other opponents while Victoria Polykova seriously considered taking training in kiteflying to fly one of the five-footers. Though producer Hemendra Aran is an avid kiteflyer, he was too busy playing the perfect host with director Gitanjali Sinha to spend time on his favourite pastime.

Veteran kite-flier Dilip Kapadia, member of Golden Kite Club, was thrilled and took the initiative to bring his innumerable large five foot kites to share it with the kids. “What Gitanjali has done is very laudable,” said Kapadia who has also flown the kites in the film.

Our film Yeh Khula Aasmaan deals with the current social scenario where students of today who are under constant pressure by the parents to excel in their academics, but when they don’t excel they lose hope in life. It is through a simple kite-flying experience which the main lead boy in the movie goes through to bring back hope in his life. By doing this event, we thought we could make a difference,” said Gitanjali Sinha.

Added Dr Merchant, “Failure is merely a stepping stone to success. And this is what Yeh Khula Aasman states too. We both show that life is too precious to give up. And what could illustrate it better than the freedom of kiteflying in the open skies!” Hence the association.

Hemendra Aran, who is an IITian and MBA from London Business School having gone though ups and downs as an entrepreneur in building the leading KPO, Aranca, agrees with Dr. Merchant’s philosophy that there are no failures only the setbacks to learn from and to move forward. “Everybody is craving for sudden success… Parents, children, professionals… and when they don’t succeed as per their own expectations, they invite depression and suicidal tendencies. This initiative by Dr Merchant serves to eradicate the depressive movements of the people,” he avered.

Dr Merchant applauded Gitanjali Sinha’s efforts saying that films are the best mediums to reach out to millions and I am happy that Yeh Khula Aasmaan is one such initiative.”

Shah Rukh in; Salman out of Madame Tussauds world tour!

In a surprising development, megastar Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit’s wax statues will not be appearing at the world tour of Madame Tussauds Bollywood superstar collection.

However, statues of four other superstars namely Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor, will be traveling to Hong Kong and Bangkok among other world cities to be announced shortly, as part of the museum’s plan to tap the Bollywood fan base at these places, reports Daily Mail.

At Hong Kong, the statues will be showcased in the museum’s World Premiere Zone alongside the wax figure of Amitabh Bachchan. Since Big B already has a wax statue in Hong Kong, his statue at London won’t be traveling to the Asian city, the report adds.

“It’s just been a little over four years, when Salman’s wax statue was inaugurated with much fanfare at Madame Tussauds. Moreover, it’s been a favourite among fans and also known to be one of the most photographed there, at par with the ones of Shah Rukh, Hrithik and Mr Bachchan. Strange, that it’ll be missing the world tour,” remarked Bollywood PR guru Dale Bhagwagar.

“This will be a big disappointment for Salman’s fans across nations,” he added. It sure would be, considering Salman has now emerged the biggest of the three reigning Khans at the box-office, with huge hits like Wanted, Dabangg, Ready and Bodyguard under his belt, while his contemporary Shah Rukh has given duds like Ra.One.

Wonder why Shah Rukh has received preferred treatment over Salman by Madame Tussauds inspite of his brand being tainted by controversies off late. First, was the brawl with Farah Khan’s husband Shirish Kunder. And now, we have the controversy about his tussle with security at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai during the IPL cricket matches, allegedly invoking a five year ban on SRK by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).

Dolly Bindra raises her shoe targeting Veena Malik in Pakistan!

The terror lady of Bigg Boss, Dolly Bindra, has targeted Pakistani ‘nautanki’ Veena Malik, who has been on Indian shores filming two to three low-budget movies in Bollywood.

On her recent tip to Veena’s homeland Pakistan, Dolly not only raised her voice in her trademark style, but also her shoe, gesturing that she is ready to throw one at the Pakistani starlet Veena when she comes face-to-face with her again!

Speaking to the media in Lahore, Dolly accused Veena Malik of “immoral activities” and expressed her desire to slap the starlet with her shoes.

Dolly claimed that Veena was in India due to her immoral acts and not because she was receiving any monetary compensation, adding that the latter loved to involve herself in various scandals every now and then.

“She (Veena Malik) is a stain on Pakistan, a stain on India, and a stain on women,” said an enraged Bindra, who also claimed that Malik had wooed Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Asif and that when Asif got jailed, Malik usurped all his money.

For the record, Veena Malik gained popularity in India when she got invited on India’s biggest reality show Bigg Boss because of a controversy with one of Bollywood PR guru Dale Bhagwagar’s clients, actress Neetu Chandra. On the show, she attracted further notoriety when she cootchie-cooed with Ashmit Patel, another of the same publicist’s clients during Bigg Boss.

Anshuman Chatterjee finished second behind PranavThakkar in Sunday’s final two races which was run concurrently with the Junior Max class.

“I was sure of bagging the championship after my three wins on Saturday, so we tried a few experiments with the kart’s set-up, that didn’t work, so I came second today,” said Chatterjee.

The winners of the three classes in the Rookie Cup will be rewarded with Scholarship Training Programs under former ace driver Akbar Ebrahim.

“We are pleased with the increase in participation and the interest and commitment that the young drivers have shown in the championship,” Sanjay Sharma, Head of Motorsport, JK Tyre, said. “There is a lot of talent and promise in these young drivers and this augurs well for the future of Indian motorsport,” he added.

Le Mans – Sunday, 20 May, 2012: Mahindra’s Marcel Schrötter claimed a determined 12th place in today’s French GP, soldiering on in conditions that saw falls for more than half of the 33 starters to take the first points for the all-new Mahindra MGP-30 Moto3™ machine.

It was a cheering reward after a difficult weekend for the Indian team, race-developing two of only four independently made machines in a grid made up of fully-fledged over-the-counter production racers.

Marcel’s four points made up for Danny Webb’s disappointment. The 21-year-old Englishman had started from pit lane, and was picking his way forward through the spray and past the debris when he too fell victim to the slippery conditions.

Schrötter (19, from Germany) had started from the back of the grid after problems in qualifying, and knew he faced an uphill task. But he showed true grit as he battled sliding tyres and treacherous tarmac to bring the white-and-red machine home.

“It shows that you must never give up. We are working hard to develop this new machine and there is a lot of work to do. But if we all work together we can do it,” said Mahindra Racing COO Mufaddal Choonia. .

The race, fourth of 17 rounds, was won by French home hero Louis Rossi, survivor of a leading group that was ravaged by crashes.

MARCEL SCHRÖTTER – 12th Position

We had so many problems this weekend and the conditions were treacherous. Our engine is quite aggressive, making it more difficult in the wet. From the start, it was so difficult – so slippery you could hardly go round the corners. By the end I just wanted to finish, even if I lost positions. But it paid off, because so many other riders crashed, and I did finish and it is good to get points.

DANNY WEBB – Did Not Finish

I had a problem on the grid and had to start from pit lane … they’d already gone when I got going. I overtook one person and had quite a nice rhythm. I could see I was starting to catch Marcel, then I tried a little bit too hard, and the bike was down. We’ve had loads of problems this weekend, but we’ll keep trying and we’ll be alright.
