Every actor, producer, manager thriving in the film industry wishes to climb the steps of success. The vastness of the industry and the variety of contours it has makes you try your hand in at least one field. Sunny Shah, well-known celebrity manager in the industry, too had some similar thoughts and decided to dive in the production of the film.

Sunny Shah who entered the industry in 1988 by starting an ad agency wished to produce a film back then but owing to some crises he turned to celebrity management and with managing the TV star Deven Bhojani film Jo jeeta wohi sikandar, Shah’s flight took off. After being in the industry for more than 25 years he has co-produced a film ‘Le Gaya Saddam’. Based on the story of a conservative Muslim society the film teaches the Muslim youths the importance of divorce in one’s life in a very jovial manner. “I am very confident that even if it’s a small budget movie it will be appreciated by the audience.”

Supporting Shah in this venture is actor Irrfan Khan. “Irrfan Khan has busy schedule but even then he was present for the music launch of my film ‘Le Gaya Saddam’ as a chief guest and it touched me immensely. He also mentioned that if I need any kind of support with my ventures he will be happy to help,” said Shah. Shah who has managed celebrities like Pooja Batra, Divya Datta and still is managing Rajpal Yadav,Darshan Jariwala ,Arya Babar,Anup soni ,Sakshi Tanwar,Claudia Ciesla etc. says that he shares a special bond with Irrfan Khan. He has been with Irrfan as a manager for more than 10 years now.

When asked if he felt it was risky touching the area talking about Muslim community’s way of treating a divorce, he said, “What we have tried to do through our film in a very good-humored manner is to give a message that marriage is an eternal bonding and needs to be treasured forever.” Apart from Managing Celebs and producing films Shah also produces plays and is an accomplished Event manager.

‘Le Gaya Saddam’ starring Raghubir Yadav, Debutant Sufi Sayyad and Chirag Patil (Son of Cricketer Sandeep Patil) is directed by Amjad Khan and will be releasing on November 2nd.

Patel records first ever podium finish for an Indian at Buddh by finishing third; Akhil Khushlani finishes fourth

Malaysian driver Afiq Ikhwan claims third win in a row

New Delhi, October 27, 2012: India’s youngest racing sensation and JK Tyre prodigy Aditya Patel created history by finishing the Round 11 race of the JK Racing Asia Series with a fantastic podium finish at the Buddh International Circuit today. By finishing third, Patel has become the first Indian in the circuit’s two-year history to finish on the podium. Compatriot Akhil Khushlani put in a stellar performance to finish in fourth place.

Armed with the glory of becoming the first Indian driver to win the gruelling 24 hours of Nurburgring in May, Patel has further cemented his position as one of the best junior drivers in the world through his results today. Having returned to single-seater racing after a gap of four years, the victory marks a phenomenal return for the young racing driver. Racing for US Formula Project, the driver put in a commendable performance in Round 2 of the Series at Paul Ricard, France and in Round 3 at Spa Francorchamps, Belgium to finish in the top ten, but missed out in Round 4 at Silverstone due to a rejected visa.

Recounting the end of his race, Patel had a big smile at the clean battle where he got both Ikhwan and Jeffri at the hairpin on the last lap. Ikhwan then regained his lead at the next turn while Jeffri made a dive on the inside a few turns before the finish line. But being on the podium at his home race was wonderful for Patel “Obviously it’s a great feeling. I got into third place at the start and as the race went on, I gained a little and I lost a little. Then lap by lap I started chipping away at Nabil and Afiq. Then Nabil caught up to him with two laps to go and that’s when it got tight between the both of them.

“It was a really really tight race. I was fighting for the lead with Afiq on the last lap and Nabil was also there and I think we were all over the place. At the end of the day, to finish on the podium was good but to know I could have won the race it doesn’t feel as great.

“I know I have the pace to be with the leaders, it did take me a while at the straights to build up a rhythm and get faster and faster and faster, so I know what to do now and what not to do. It should be good” ended the US Formula Project driver.

Representing championship-leading team Eurointernational, Akhil Khushlani ended the race in style with a fourth place finish. Fresh after his scintillating performance in Round 4 at Silverstone where he finished second, the 22-year-old racing driver from Hyderabad moved up from his eighth place start in today’s race to finish fourth. Khushlani raced in the series in 2009 when it was known as the Formula BMW, and has an impressive record of accomplishment with two podium finishes and top 5 finishes in over 12 races. He was a guest driver in the series last year during the Inaugural Indian Grand Prix and so is well versed with the track, which worked in his favour.

There were great battles all the way down the grid. Akhil Khushlani who started the race in eighth had a few great battles to finish fourth. “The race was brilliant. I just kept my pace, drove sensibly and didn’t want to take risks. Eighth to fourth, I am quite happy with that and I hope tomorrow I can go for the podium”.

Khushlani had to make some good manoeuvres and had good battles with Calvin Wong and Earl Bamber before making his moves on both Aston Hare and Rookie driver Aidan Wright on his way up. Hare was not too impressed with his own results saying “Again I didn’t get off the line properly but otherwise we were quick.

It is worth a mention that both Patel and Khushlani have been a part of the JK Tyre motorsport program where they graduated from national karting and racing championships to Asian and European levels of racing.

It was a moving moment for Afiq Ikhwan when he heard the Malaysian national anthem playing in the background for him after claiming first place. Ikhwan is on a winning streak after claiming both races in Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit at the last outing, and after a tough battle at the end, the win was worth it. The 21 year old crossed the line just ahead of compatriot Nabil Jeffri of Eurointernational after the duo and Indian Aditya Patel changed positions a few times at the closing stages of the race right through to the chequered flag. Patel finished the race in third and set the fastest time of the day with 1:50.803.

Ikhwan made a quick announcement during the post race interview, saying “I’d like to dedicate this trophy to my mum for her 50th birthday”. He then continued to thank his team and sponsor Petronas for the race.

“In the beginning I had a really good pace but the conditions of the car deteriorated after five laps and I don’t know why, we have to find out the problem. After lap 5 I saw Nabil closing the gap, he was coming really fast from third but I just did my job and continue doing what I do and kept defending my line right to the end of the race”.

When asked what was his feeling hearing the Malaysian national anthem during a Formula 1 weekend, Ikhwan said “I’m really excited and really happy because its not easy to get a podium and we worked really hard for this weekend, so I really appreciate everything and would like to thank everyone in my team”.

For Jeffri, the race win was not as important as the Championship points and although he was slightly disappointed he is looking forward to making amends tomorrow.

“I started off a bit slow because I think I was a bit too relaxed at the start. I think I lost the race at the start because I didn’t push hard enough when compared to Afiq but then as the race progressed I pushed hard enough and managed to catch up to Afiq.

“I did a few mistakes but my pace was there and I caught up to him until Patel came into the scene and was right behind me”. The trio battled into the last lap and Jeffri lost his second place to Patel before managing to reclaim his position at the end.

“In the end it was a really good race, I had fun and most important are my points for the Championship and right now I am still leading, and I am very proud of that. I expected a win so for tomorrow I will come back stronger hopefully. I really want to win, I want to win in India and I want to win during Formula 1 to prove to the Formula 1 teams that I can win here too” ended Jeffri.

Aidan – Wright did not have the best of starts and was playing catch up for most of the race. “From the start it was mainly trying to get back to where I started so I was trying to get back to fifth from eighth and I got to sixth so that was pretty good. Its good to know that we have the pace against people like Afiq who has been doing this for years so to be a Rookie here is really good.

Round 12 of the JK Racing Asia Series will be held tomorrow at 12 noon local time.

About JK Tyre Motorsports

JK Tyre has always been closely associated with the world of sports. Almost three decades back the company laid down a long term and sustained approach to promote Motorsport. Participating in this form of the sport has helped the company in continuously updating its products to meet the challenges of gruelling Indian conditions. The sport at that time in India was perceived for elite but JK Tyre took upon itself to package and redesign the sport to suit the masses. The company not only made the sport affordable but also equivalent to International operating standards. JK Tyre’s foray into Motorsport was a well thought out strategic decision to not only use and develop this virgin branding platform but also to realize the dreams of making India a force in the field of motor sport.

In 2011, the company acquired the Formula BMW Series and rechristened it as the JK Racing Asia Series (JKRAS). With this acquisition, JK Tyre created history in Indian Motorsport by becoming the first Indian company to acquire an FIA accredited series. The series has to its credit of producing as many as six of the current Formula One drivers, including reigning two- time champion Sebastian Vettel. By taking over the series, JK Tyre promises to utilize it as a platform to encourage and support the world’s best racing drivers and promote India as one of Asia’s motorsport capitals. Thus, JK Tyre has conquered two steps in the motorsport program where the new racing aspirants first establish themselves in India, then graduate to Asian level i.e. to Formula BMW which is now JKRAS and then they move to higher levels of racing. JK Tyre now stands closer to achieving its mission of bringing world-class motorsport to the Indian masses.

The Racing and Karting programme by JK Tyre has been the breeding ground for the country’s motorsport talents like Narain Karthikeyan, Armaan Ebrahim, Karun Chandhok, Aditya Patel and other new emerging talents.

Wonder Cement Ltd gains better flexibility, manageability and cost effectiveness through Citrix XenDesktop®, XenApp™ and XenServer® solutions

Accrues power savings of 60% and business uptime of 98.5% through Citrix Solutions

Mumbai, India – October 29, 2012: Wonder Cement Ltd, a Rajasthan based cement manufacturing major, today announced the implementation of Citrix® server, desktop and application virtualization solutions resulting in better flexibility ease of manageability and significant cost savings for the organization.

Promoted by R.K. Marble Group, an industry leader in mining and marble processing, Wonder Cement Ltd was established as their most recent venture for cement manufacturing. The company opened a new manufacturing plant at Chittorgarh in Rajasthan, with a capacity to produce 2.5 million metric tons of cement per annum. Even though R.K. Marble Group had various home-grown IT solutions in place, they realized the need for a consolidated IT infrastructure while foraying into the cement manufacturing business.

Commenting on this deployment, Arun Attri, General Manager-IT, Wonder Cement Limited, said “Rather than opting for a physical IT infrastructure overhaul, we decided to invest in server, desktop and application virtualization which has paid rich dividends. Citrix solutions delivered unparalleled performance and helped us significantly to reduce operational costs, capital expenditure while strengthening security, manageability and mobility requirements of our organization.”

Sanjay Deshmukh, Area Vice President, India Subcontinent- Citrix said, “It is extremely encouraging to see companies in smaller towns of India make a progressive decision of choosing Citrix Desktop Virtualization and Server Virtualization solutions. We will support Wonder Cements to improve productivity and flexibility for users and also to reduce cost of managing IT by consolidating and virtualizing desktops and servers.

Citrix orchestrated the process of building the IT infrastructure by virtualizing applications and desktops through Citrix® XenApp™ and Citrix XenDesktop®, which were hosted on the virtual Citrix XenServer® and accessed through Citrix web interface. A clear strategic phased roadmap was devised for the implementation. In the first phase that was completed in just one week, the seven pre-existing blade servers were virtualized into multiple virtual servers, to support all of the company’s applications such as e-mailing, Blackberry Enterprise Server, SharePoint Portals, HRMS, IP based Surveillance etc. The company derived 60 % saving on power consumption; thus further reducing its carbon footprint. The solution also provided Wonder Cement with the much-needed flexibility. Whenever there is a need to provision a new server, the IT team requires deploying virtual machine from snapshot and another server instance is ready within a matter of an hour. In the second phase, the company deployed Citrix XenApp that centralized applications and delivered it to remote users instantly and securely. The solution was able to provide an uptime of around 98.5% to the business. Thirdly, the company virtualized 100 desktops at the manufacturing plant to deliver desktops and applications that are customized to meet the performance, security and mobility requirements of every individual user. By replacing traditional desktops with Citrix XenDesktop, the IT team can now manage and update both operating system and applications from a single location. Replicating its success, the company plans to ramp up its virtual desktops from 100 to 600 over the next two years.

‘I am scared of Salman Khan!’-Karan Johar reveals to Sid K on Oye 104.8 FM

New Delhi October 29, 2012: Oye! 104.8 FM Sabse filmi had a chat with Bollywood ace director Karan Johar & cast of “Student of the Year” movie on Siddharth Kannan’s show ‘Oye Talkies’. In the show, Karan Johan revealed that he is scared of Salman Khan. In response to Sid K’s question, which is that one actor in front of whom he cannot gather courage to open his mouth? Karan gave his no holds barred reply ‘Salman khan! When he came on my show ‘Lift Kara De’, I was sitting in my black suit, he was very animated, it was a very serious show. Salman Khan said, I am not going to sit here, I want to sit on floor and you will also have to sit on floor.’ Karan said that, I am very scared of Salman for some reason, I don’t know why, though he has been very wonderful to me, he is close to my family from a very long time, but I get nervous in front of him.

Talking about Karan’s star cast Siddharth asked Karan ‘Why do his two proteges Varun Dhawan and Siddharth Malhotra keep removing their shirts at the drop of the hat? Karan laughed ‘ Thank god ,Alia has not got inspired from them, If Alia kept doing the same as them, my film would have not been for the family audiences, it would been for a different kind of audience! ‘

Siddharth Malhotra then pulled Karan’s leg saying that ‘We got inspired by Karan to remove our clothes, because when we were shooting in Bangkok, he would remove his clothes and swim and people would watch, especially Varun who would watch Karan ‘chup chupke’ swimming bare bodied !’

Karan Johar said “I am not an exhibitionist, I had a private pool next to my room, I removed my clothes on my own and there was no one there! Mujhe public mein kapde utarna achcha nahi lagta! In fact Kajol warned and fired them not to remove their shirt in front of her when she came for a special appearance in my film! ‘They kept mum after that firing session by her!’

Siddharth Kannan further asked him -‘Since you are 40years now, don’t you want to get married?’ Karan revealed that ‘My mother is most happy that I am not married, as she does not need to share her jewellery with anyone! Sid further probed by asking, does he not feel lonely without a companion? In a contemplating mood Karan said-‘Loneliness is never pretty. I just want to make films. Why do to a spouse when you can do it with your films? My office has become my family. People who work in my office have become my world I really don’t feel the need for anyone!’

Karan said ‘I want to act desperate now. I am tired of playing myself in films and if Sid could request all the film makers who come on his show to cast Karan in a character role!’

Sid jokingly asked Karan Johar, why just a character role and not the lead in a film?’ To this Karan answered -‘Farhan made Rock On, if I do the lead, it will be called Rock Off!’

Karan Johar further confided to Sid K- “I am not a versatile filmmaker, I can do only one kind of film, I think I can do human emotional dramas, but I don’t think I can pull off action films, thrillers or do something which is completely edgy like I can’t make films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Udaan, Taare Zameen Par, they are all good films. That’s my biggest limitation!

Everyone thinks I am most expressive, but the truth is that I hold back! I don’t express my feelings to anyone! When I am hurt I keep it to myself, then after 2 to 3 years, it comes out in some other situation!

On the youth brigade he said, “These Kids want to be like Shahrukh, I just told them the way SRK shoots, takes the light, does not fumble even once and controls the camera with his eyes. No one, I repeat no one can ever do that! There is only one Shahrukh Khan!”

Recently Model / VJ / Bollywood actress Pooja Misrra was invited as a Chief Guest for a Man hunt in Delhi. It was very pleasant to see the always hot and sexy attired Pooja Misrra turn up in gorgeous white Anarkali attire, needless to say she looked gorgeous in the same. It sure was raining men at the manhunt and Pooja sure had a blast with the Delhiwalas, who could not get enough of the stunning beauty and kept on crowding and pleading her for pictures, it was nice to discover that Pooja did not disappoint her fans and patiently gave them pictures and autographs.

When we quizzed about did she feel about the manhunt? She replied “I am here for a dual purpose! Not only am I judging the manhunt but also doing research for my next Bollywood film ‘The City That Never Sleeps’ where I portray the role of a man eater”. Wow! This is the film where Pooja stars opposite a Hollywood Star Jeremy Williams, it would be interesting to see a sober and beautiful girl like Pooja portray such a wild character, we look forward to the release of this film for sure.
