BLENDERS PRIDE FASHION TOUR 2012

13 DESIGNERS’ TRENDS DIRECTIONS FROM BLENDERS PRIDE FASHION TOUR 2012

ASMITA MARWA- RESORT ROMANCE AND STYLE

It is a collection that is inspired by the 60s and 70s Woodstock era of fashion when freedom, peace and music expression defined the lives of people. For designer Asmita Marwa her “La Vie En Rose” line is perfect resort holiday wear for men and women.

“I see life through rose tinted glasses so using the colours of the 60s and 70s there is a kaleidoscope of bright hues with lots of deep tones for both the men’s and women’s creations. This time it is silk that I am concentrating on tough usually I do a lot of cotton. The styling is very simple and classic with an emphasis on batik that makes a style statement. There are a couple of saris that are draped differently, but mostly it is western wear with an Indian touch which is not dressy but the prints and batiks are very interesting. The size of the motifs is large and the way they merge with the colour tones makes all the difference.”

Asmita has fairly structured silhouettes but there is a lot of fluidity in the cropped pants, tunics, shirts and she has added a few feathers for collars that create the hippy chic era look. Men’s shirts follow the batik story in pink, blue and green with lots of black. The detailing is restricted to raw edges which appear for collars and hemlines and the interesting addition is press buttons, which are the highlight of the collection. “I have not used any button holes for any garments though there is a lot of pleating, pin tucks, one-shoulder or off-shoulder silhouettes which look great for resort wear.”

For some romantic beautiful creations that will appeal to both men and women then Asmita Marwa has the best offering.

Rajneeti causes a stir in the Bigg Boss house

With the Rajneeti task in full swing, few of the housemates are awake throughout the night keeping the fire alive. The day begins with an apt song ‘Sab Ganda Hai Par Dhanda Hai Yeh’ where Vrajesh and Sampat are seen fencing and dancing with wooden logs, prepping for a battling day ahead.

Aashka, Urvashi, Sana and Rajev who are part of the other group are seen bitching about the Jago India party. They are seen complaining about every member of the group. Aashka is seen telling everyone that throughout the night none of the other party members helped her even though they could see that she was struggling. She also asks Urvashi on why Sidhu is giving a cold vibe? Urvashi tries to explain to Aashka that since it is a Rajneeti task Sidhu has got too involved in it. On the other hand, Karishma, Assem, Sidhu and Niketan are seen talking on how the comments passed by the other party are personal and uncalled for. Assem is the most offended by a personal remark made by Urvashi. Here, Delnaaz is seen trying to play the role of a pacifier between the two parties, telling them that it’s just a task.

She then tries to sort out the problem between Urvashi and Assem by making them sit together and talk it out. Here, the misunderstanding is solved after clarifications from Urvashi and explanations from Assem. After a while, we also see Aashka approach Sidhu and speak to him about the change in his behavior. She breaks down and tells him that because she respects him, she cannot see him supporting someone who talks behind his back. Sidhu tries to convince her otherwise by saying that it’s a task and his heart breaks if she cries.

There is party politics everywhere, with both the parties trying to poach the other party members. Vrajesh and Urvashi are seen planning to convince Sapna to join their group and realize that the only way to Sapna is by trying to convince Assem. After a lot of talks and deliberation, Sapna and Assem both decide not to move parties and remain with Niketan’s party itself. In the evening, drama happens when Aashka misunderstands that Sapna has hidden the chimta and creates an issue out of it.

Bigg Boss then calls Delnaaz in the confession room to tell her that she is now a part of the task and she has to choose one party to pledge her support. When the housemates find out about Delnaaz being the janta, both the parties try their level best to poach her. Delnaaz on her part tries to convince Assem to join Urvashi’s party but to no avail. After a while, Delnaaz is seen speaking with Uravshi trying to tell her that because of her party the atmosphere in the house has gone down. Urvashi gets offended by this and says that if the atmosphere is ruined because of her, everyone should nominate her and send her home. After she leaves, Delnaaz expresses her displeasure to Aashka saying that she didn’t like Urvashi’s tone.

While the housemates continue their vigil by the fire, it waits to see what the next day of the Rajneeti task will have in store for the housemates.

To know more about the fights, watch Bigg Boss season 6,

Victoria is the only State Government to be a platinum sponsor of the 4-month OzFest, as part of its drive to engage more closely with India. The Fest brings Victoria based Australian MasterChef judges Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris to India who are joined by leading Victorian food and wine companies to promote what Victoria can put on the tables of India. The State also brings with itself the best of comedians from the Melbourne International Comedy Festival; the most talented of actors as part of ‘Save Your Legs!’ feature film shot in Victoria and India and dancers who hail from Victoria.

At the occasion, the Minister launched the second round of the Australia India Youth Dialogue, to be held in 2013 in Australia. The Victorian Government is one of the founding partners of this forum.

The Minister also inaugurated the launch of the Melbourne Mumbai Design Map – a one-of-a-kind concept that presents a double-sided map to highlight architectural, fashion, product design and graphic design points of interest in the centre of both cities – Melbourne and Mumbai. The map is developed by the Design Institute of Australia (DIA), a delegate on the Super Trade Mission to India. “I am also delighted to see the potential that the Melbourne Mumbai Design Map has to offer to facilitate links between Melbourne and Mumbai designers which will help promote cultural and business exchange between the two locations.
