Stars throng Jayant Gilatar’s Rannbhoomi Music Launch

Marathi films have finally come of age. Or so it seemed when host Jayant Gilatar unveiled his film about youth politics and its adverse impact on the lives of students leading to their life becoming a Rannbhoomi, a la Bollywood style with a music launch. The music launch of the film directed by Shaunak Shirole saw actors Manoj Joshi, Dr. Amol Kolhe, Shantanu Moghe, Urmila Kanetkar, Niranjan Namjoshi, Jyoti Gilatar, composers Saii-Piyush, Trupti Bhoir, Mansi Salvi, Mudasir Ali and a host of others in attendance. The chief guest was Adesh Bandekar, actor and Shivsena Chitrapat Shakha President Aadesh Bandekar.


Siddhu ‘s Comments makes Vidya Balan blush

The latest “ultra-mod”, hatke and over the top wardrobe of Vidya Balan has been making news before her movie releases, but apart from her fans, lots of other people are appreciating her versatility.

The latest one on the block is ace cricketer and commentator Navjot Singh Siddhu who was stunned when he met her on the sets of his upcoming show ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ on COLORS. Talking about her, Siddhu said, “Jis rang mein use daal do, usi rang mein woh poori tarah se rang jaati hai” complimenting Vidya’s talent and boldness as an actor. He loved her simplicity and humbleness and was in awe of the actress.

Hearing Siddhu compliment her, Vidya could not stop blushing. Robbed of her speech, she took a while to recover from the praise that Sidhu showered on her.


Akshay Kumar goes all out for Ramesh Taurani’s It’s Entertainment
Akshay Kumar despite being one of the biggest Bollywood stars, is going all out to perform his commitment not just as an actor but also in the creative process of Ramesh Taurani’s ambitious next titled “It’s Entertainment”.

The actor has played an active role in establishing and narrowing down locations to shoot the film – While the team met to discuss logistics , it was Akshay Kumar who suggested shooting at Bangkok’s Baanpradhana Bungalow in Ongkuruk, Asiatique Mall, Ancient City, Bangkok University and Ongkuruk railway station and even provided details on finer aspects, given that he stayed and studied martial arts in the capital city of Thailand ,much before his tryst with Bollywood.Says producer Ramesh Taurani, “ While we were in discussion over the locations to shoot our film ,Akshay suggested shooting in Bangkok since it seemed apt for the movie .He knows Bangkok in and out and was extremely excited and brainstormed on several locations we could lock on”.

Eros International’s Raanjhanaa opens to rave reviews

Eros International’s musical love saga Raanjhanaa directed by Aanand L Rai ,starring Dhanush,Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol opened unanimously to rave reviews across the country,receiving a huge thumps-up from the critics.

Krrish 3 to come with Chennai Express

Yes! Makers of Krrish 3 insist that the trailer of their upcoming superhero flick will come with Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express on August 8. Ask Producer – Director Rakesh Roshan and he confirms the same. He says, “ Launching the trailer with a big film guarantees many eyeballs. I am going to talk to Shah Rukh or UTV about the same.”

Dharmendra can’t say ‘NO’

Inspiring book ‘My Stroke of Luck’ launched at Asia’s first ever India Non Fiction Festival

Mumbai, June 2013: With the arrival of the Indian Non Fiction Festival dealing primarily with non-fiction writing, based on the theme Be Bold Stay Real; Mumbaikars witnessed stimulating sessions from established authors and eminent personalities in their respective genres. The first of its kind event in Asia made its appearance in Mumbai at the Nehru Centre at Worli from 21st to 23rd June 2013. Among all the sessions at the event such as panel discussions, keynotes, speaker addresses is the coveted book launch session; wherein the book, ‘My Stroke of Luck’ by author Mr. Vijay Santhanam was introduced by communication expert Mr. Gautam Kiyawat, CEO Madison Media and RK, Neo Sports.

The book, an inspiring story of the author who, in order to regain his health and faculties after being afflicted by a stroke which paralyzed the right side of his body, had to learn to start all over again. It is a journey to recovery, of confronting a crisis through long and arduous therapy and overcoming it with willpower, while learning new strengths along the way. After the incident, Mr. Vijay Santhanam had taken an early retirement from corporate life as a regional head of marketing in a Singapore multinational company, who is now enjoying his second innings as an author and visiting faculty of IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Lucknow.

Commenting on the launch of his book, Mr. Vijay Santhanam said, “My attempt by writing this book is not to describe the workings of a human brain in a scientific manner but to celebrate a man’s journey. When a human being is confronted with a big crisis they summon all their spirit to fight back and win, this story is a testament to it. I would like to thank the India Non Fiction Festival for the opportunity to showcase my story to the audience.”

Speaking about the occasion Kumaar Bagrodia, Festival Director, India Non Fiction Festival said, “It is a privilege to showcase this inspiring book My Stroke of Luck by Mr. Vijay Santhanam, a book that is close to my heart and a great addition to our festival.”
