The 10th Royal Enfield Himalayan Odyssey flagged off from India Gate

~The biggest ever congregation of 100 Royal Enfield riders on two different routes to cover 2700 kilometers in 17 days ~

~ First ever Royal Enfield REUNION North to be held in Leh to celebrate 10 editions of Royal Enfield’s Himalayan journeys

New Delhi, June 22, 2013: The 10th edition of the Royal Enfield Himalayan Odyssey was flagged off from India Gate at New Delhi today. Considered as the holy grail of motorcycle rides organized across the world, the Royal Enfield Himalayan Odyssey remains the most revered and cherished amongst all bikers. With 2013 marking a decade of Royal Enfield’s presence in the mighty mountains, a total of 100 riders from India and abroad will travel a distance of 2700kms to Khardung La, the world’s highest motorable pass at 18,365 ft. above sea level. This non-competitive, adventure motorcycling event will have riders in two different groups riding out of Delhi and converging at Leh. The contingent will then ride up to Khardung La, before returning back to Delhi on July 08, 2013.

After the lamas chanted their prayers and bestowed their good wishes on the riders, a majestic procession of 100 thumping Royal Enfield motorcycles was flagged marking the commencement of the ride.

After flagging off the ride, Shaji Koshy, Senior Vice-President Sales & Marketing Royal Enfield said, “The Royal Enfield Himalayan Odyssey is the ultimate motorcycling adventure that unites the rider with the bike and the terrain to create an experience of a lifetime. In our 10th year now, this ride has only become bigger and better with a record number of 100 riders riding together to Ladakh on their Royal Enfields. ”

The thumping cavalcade of riders have gathered across India from major metropolitan cities and even from smaller cities like Bareily, Vizag and Kannur to celebrate this ultimate motorcycling ride. This extraordinaire expedition will give the riders a unique chance to test their mettle on one of the toughest riding terrains of the world. The rider’s will battle the treacherous terrains of Parwanoo, Narkhanda, Keylong, Sarchu via Kalpa and Kaza region. Kalpa and Kaza are known to be extremely difficult terrains for riding in the world and they bring the most seasoned of bikers to their knees. The two riding contingents are set to meet at Leh on 30th June. Whilst the first congregation will head out via Tsokar, the second unit leaves on July 02, for the sand dunes of Hunder. Thus the two groups will trace down each other’s respective routes to make it back to Delhi on 8th July, 2013. From the mighty peaks, down to teasing mountain curves, the riders come face to face with the most challenging riding terrains in the world to emerge victorious for the sheer love of motorcycling.

However, to make the 10th chapter of the Himalayan Odyssey ever more special and memorable, Royal Enfield has organised the first ever REUNION North at Leh on June 30, 2013.

Multi-starrer film ‘Enemmy’ debuts this week in 453 UFO digital theatres. Akshay Kumar goes all out for Ramesh Taurani’s It’s Entertainment

Akshay Kumar despite being one of the biggest Bollywood stars, is going all out to perform his commitment not just as an actor but also in the creative process of Ramesh Taurani’s ambitious next titled “It’s Entertainment”.

The actor has played an active role in establishing and narrowing down locations to shoot the film – While the team met to discuss logistics , it was Akshay Kumar who suggested shooting at Bangkok’s Baanpradhana Bungalow in Ongkuruk, Asiatique Mall, Ancient City, Bangkok University and Ongkuruk railway station and even provided details on finer aspects, given that he stayed and studied martial arts in the capital city of Thailand ,much before his tryst with Bollywood.

Says producer Ramesh Taurani, “ While we were in discussion over the locations to shoot our film ,Akshay suggested shooting in Bangkok since it seemed apt for the movie .He knows Bangkok in and out and was extremely excited and brainstormed on several locations we could lock on”.

The top 100 young singing sensations have made their way to aamchi Mumbai for the theatre rounds of Indian Idol Junior. These young singing aspirants from all corners of India will now battle it out for a spot in the final Top 10.

During the theatre rounds judges Shreya Ghoshal, Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani were in for a tough time. They had the arduous task of selecting the best among the best. But as they say when the going gets tough the tough gets going. The judges had their own way of dealing with the pressure. Inspired by the kids the judges also went back to their childhood and became kids. Hosts Mandira Bedi and Karan Wahi too joined them and had a blast. Shreya also sang the kids version of Lakdi ki kaathi… kaathi pe ghoda. Looks like the judges are reliving their childhood days through these contestants.
