Ram Leela trailer – the fastest to cross the 2 million mark

The trailer of Eros International and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram Leela recently launched,only to be received with an unprecedented reception , making it the fastest trailer this year to cross the 2 million benchmark.

The trailer of the magnum opus that saw its launch 3 days ago,is also being celebrated on the social media front with everyone from the media to the film fraternity voicing their praise and support.

Dance India Dance is back with its next edition – DID 4. This season, the show has toured 19 cities across India to find some of the best talents and with Mumbai being their latest pit stop, the city auditions were held on Saturday and Sunday (28th and 29th September) at Don Bosco School (Borivali).

Out of 5000+ registrations in the city, a total of 145 candidates have been shortlisted to go to Level 3 of the competition, that is being held today at the venue. The talents poured in from various corners of the country and performed various styles like – Hip Hop, Whacking, Tutting, Slow-motion, Bharatanatyam, Ballet and many other dance styles.

Pradeep Rawat enlightens 600 students from ZICA & ZIMA

Mumbai, September 26, 2013: 600 students from Zee Institute of Creative Arts (ZICA) and Zee Institute of Media Arts (ZIMA) get-together to participate in Youth Alumni Meet held in Andheri. The occasion was graced and addressed by noted film actor and ‘Ghajini of Bollywood’, Pradeep Rawat, who has over the years played pivotal and inspiring roles in movies such as Ghajini, Lagaan and recently released Grand Masti. He addressed the gathering and shared his insights on effectively transferring the script onscreen. He also shared tips on sharpening acting skills. It was a golden opportunity for the students of ZICA & ZIMA to connect and strike a chord with each other. Other notable guests included Nadeem Khan(Cinematographer), veteran actor Javed Khan, Avinash Oak(Sound director) and Aseem Sinha(Editor).

Mr. Anshuman Choudhury, Youth Business Head (ZICA and ZIMA) added, “The creative world of movies needs students to vigorously churn their thinking capabilities. We provide a platform for them to learn from their idols in the industry and expose themselves to new developments.”

Sharing his experience, Mr. Pradeep Rawat, Actor said “It is a humbling experience to address such enthusiastic students. I have re-visited my journey while exchanging learning’s and understandings with students about film making. I congratulate ZICA & ZIMA for molding our young creative minds in the right directions and providing technology that brings out the best in them.”

Star Students’ Scintillation on the ramp at WLCI’s Chimera 2013

Nineteen young and talented designers from three campuses of one of the finest fashion institutes in India, WLCI showcased an array of their splendid designs and for the first time in the history of fashion on the ramp there was a display of garments embellished with machines. This isn’t all, 19 designers, 19 different collections, Chimera 2013 rained fashion and innovation by students at the graduating fashion show hosted by WLCI.

Chairman Vinay Pasricha said “Collections were unique and exemplary,students travelled from Kolkatta and delhi have been here is commendable,and WLCI college is set make a new wave in the field of fashion”.

Faculty Bulbul Chaudhary (Regional Director WLC College), Nutun Kajbaje (Creative Director WLC College) and Vinay Pasricha (Chairman WLC College) put up wonderful show.

The guests attended and gave awards were the show were Ashley Rebello, Bally Sagoo, Rohhit Verma, Sandhya Mamik, Prashant Sharma, Vasant Bhandari, Asif Merchant, Mukti Mohan, Chandan Roy Sanyal etc. Show was beautifully choreographed by Shakir Shaikh.

The students with the esteemed panel of judges also received support from the entertainment industry who was all praises for the budding designers. The attendees were Vikram Bawa, Rohhit Verma, Narendra Kumar,Eijaz Khan, Mukti Mohan, Chandan, Tarun Mansukhani, Anjali Patil, Sushant Divgikar, Rushwa Parihar, Ameya, Babita Malkani, Vaibhav Ghuge, Amy Billimoria, Kavitta Verma, Prashant Rai, Mohsin Khan to name a few.

The WLCI Fashion School is a premier fashion institute in the country. It imparts professional training in the field of Fashion Technology through various programs for those who aspire to enter the Apparel Industry. At the end of the program, the student’s final design collection is showcased at ‘Chimera 2013’

While the collection displayed was into its being, the students of WLCI have been guided by highly qualified and experienced faculty and have interned with some of the finest fashion designers like Ritu Kumar, Anita Dongre, Neeta Lulla, Archana Kochhar and magnanimous design houses such as Globus and Shopper’s Stop.

Taking pride in presenting the collection of the students or you may call them the designer’s of tomorrow, the head of the creative school; Nutan Kajbaje mentions, “The showcase of the collection by my students is going to be simply outstanding, they have dived deep into their imagination to carve their collection.”

Talking about the rarest fashion on ramp Nutan adds, “The ramp will witness motored embellishments on their garments, then you have meteors & galaxies sparkling the ramp with neon lights and bright colors and to give you this sugar rush, you have three tired cake garment that will make the audiences go awestruck.”

While the nineteen designers present the scintillating show, the jury comprising of Archana Kochhar, Manish Kelshikar, Asad Fakhi, Leena Tipnis, Dinesh Singhal, and Karishma Trehan carefully monitored the perfect combination of creativity and practicality.

Top most models of the glitterati like Alesia Raut, Sucheta Sharma, Ushoshi Sengupta and others have walked for the students for all these years, this year too sizzled on the ramp this year with Shakir Shaikh’s choreography.

The collections displayed at the Chimera 2013:- Shahaana Badshahat, Kamadelic, The Seven Deadly Sins, The Essential Nawabs, Transbionic, Candy land, Birds of Paradise, The Felandro, Intergalactic Union, Battlefields & runways, Alien Resurrection, Samurai, Walking like a Child, Prasmatic Kalinga, La Maravilla, The avenging angel, Mistress of the Dark, Spiderwick Chronicles and the Coquette Lady.

WLCI proudly presented the designers of tomorrow: – Bhavya Savla, Dhara Prajapati, Tanushree Singhania, Nazia Hanifee, Mukti Tiberwal, Ritika Temkar, Sakshi Parashar, Deepam Sinha, Shona Barua, Dionne Claudette, Tanvi Tulaskar, Nasreen Padriwala, Ritu Jain, Soumya Dash, Aashita Sheth, Rachana Pawar, Ankita Jayaswal, Sherin Thomas, Devyani Parasrampuria respectively after the spectacular collection.

They aren’t students, they are designers already! Impressive!.

Mumbai: The closing ceremony of the 4th Jagran Film Festival, held at a suburban hotel, saw various directors and actors present at the event. Eminent personalities such as Manoj Kumar (who was conferred with the lifetime achievement award), Kamal Hassan, Kangana Ranaut, Tusshar Kapoor, Huma Quershi, Kunal Kappor, Dilip Thahil, Prateik Babbar, Siddharth Malhotra, Nirmat Kaur, Prateik Babbar, Karishma Tanna, Terrence Lewis, Sammer Kocchar, Divya Dutta, Manish Paul, Resul Pookutty, Sudhir Mishra, Rituparna Sen, Abhishek Kapoor, Chunkey Pandey, Ravi Kishen, Subhash Kapoor, Hazel, Irshad Kamil and others were part of the ceremony. The performances given were of Raghu Dixit, Shankar Tucker and Maati Baani.

The event started with Huma Quershi and Kunal Kapoor welcoming the guests for being part of the closing ceremony. Shortly the awards were announced for the best screenplay, best cinematography, best sound, best editing, best singer female, best single male, best music director, best background music, best short film, best debut director, best female actor, best male actor, best director and best film.

The best screenplay awards was given to Juhi Chaturvedi for the film Vicky Donor for writing a screenplay that crackled with a brilliant premise, unforgettable characters, throbbing plot and an important message. The best cinematography award was given to Pankaj Kumar for the film Ship of Thesus for creating images that stay with you. The award for sound was presented to Gabor Erdelyi Jr., Tamaz Szekely for the film Ship of Thesus fur capturing noise, silence, whisper, scream, echo etc. The award for best editing was presented to Mahesh Narayan for the film Vishwaroopam for its edge of seat experience. The awards for the best Background score was presented to Hitesh Sonik for his film Kai Po Che.

The best singer female was presented to Aditi Singh Sharma for the film Heroine. The best singer male was presented to Ayushman Khurrana for the film Vicky Donor. The best music was presented to Pritam for the film Barfi for his brilliant compositions.

Award for the best director was given to Abhishek Kapoor. Award for the best film was presented to Kai Po Che. The best debut director was presented to Anand Gandhi for this film Ship of Theseus. The best actress was given to Sridevi. The best actor was shared by two actors. Farhaan Akhtar for the film “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag” and Ranbir Kapoor for “Barfi”

The special jury award was presented to Vishwaroopam for raising the bar of mainstream Indian cinema to International level.

Lesle’s heart anthem sends youth pulse soaring

Lesle Lewis and Mumbai’s young rock bands performed at the Mumbai Ki Dhadkan concert on the eve of World Heart Day.

An initiative by Fortis Healthcare Limited, Mumbai Ki Dhadkan saw bands Saptak from IIT Powai, Flameshot Fakirs from Chetna College, Breaking Bad from Lala Lajpat Rai College, Overture from VES College and Misplaced Anthem from National College. Over 5000 students and all the bands got together with Lesle Lewis to perform the anthem for a healthy heart with Lesle called Mumbai Ki Dhadkan,

“The Walkathon 2013” flagged by MP Sanjay Nirupam on World Heart Day.

“The Walkathon 2013” was jointly organized on World Heart Day by NSPHERE and SURANA HOSPITAL on Sunday 29th Sept 2013 from Goregaon Sports Club to Mid-chowky, which was held as a symbolic walk to make people aware of the benefits of walking and also tell them the hazards of a sedentary life style, wherein Hon MP Shri Sanjay Nirupam, MLA Shri Aslam Sheikh, Bollywood stars Arjun Rampal and Rahul Roy along with many Doctors and politician where present. Chief Guest was famous Cardiologist Dr. Lekha Pathak. Approximately near about 3000 people, children’s, senior citizens, college students including Brahkumari’s of Malad participated in this “Walkathon”.

The event was organized by Dr. K. C. Mehta, Mr. D. C. Surana (Chairman Surana Hospital), Dr. Narendra Kumar (President NSPHERE), Mr Satish Agrawal (President GSG), Dr Ashish Purohit (President MMA), Dr. Afzal Shaikh (Vice President Surana Hospital) and Dr.Ketan Mehta.

The idea was to encourage people to get out of their seats and make them walking so they feel better perform better and live a better life and get others to do so. Main aim was to protect every person’s life from major disease like diabetes Hypertension or cardiac ailment so that they can keep themselves mobile and fit for the coming challenges in life and live happily.
