Bani – Ishq Da Kalma reaches its first milestone

~The star cast celebrates the completion of 100 episodes~

COLORS show Bani- Ishq Da Kalma launched in March this year aimed to depict a heart-wrenching tale of the abandoned brides of Punjab has come a long way. Completing 100 episodes on 2nd of August, it has quickly gained a place among the hearts of everyone with its receptive theme of young Punjabi girls being enticed into NRI marriages and soon being abandoned by their husbands. Revolving around the story of Bani, its main protagonist, who is forced into living her mother’s unrealized dream of getting married to a prosperous NRI suitor, this show attempts to go beyond the “happily-ever-after”.

The beautiful locales of Punjab, the strong portrayal of Punjabi culture and the acting prowess of theleads, Shefali Sharma(Bani), Neha Bagga(Rajji), Adhvik Mahajan (Sohum) and Gaurav Chaudhary(Parmeet), has captured a special place in the hearts of everyone. A hundred episode party was specially thrown for the cast and crew of the show, which saw the presence of all its lead actors and others such as Puneet Issar ,Navni Parihar, Suraj Thapar, Rita Bahaduri, who play pivotal parts in the show as well.

The 100th episode saw Bani relentlessly trying to call her husband Parmeet, but is unable to reach his phone. The high point in the story appeared when she spots Parmeet at a market in Amritsar, whereas he had informed her he would be in Canada. Is Parmeet cheating on her? And on the other hand,Rajji is about to be put through a test (akhand paath) by Bua. Will Rajji be able to go through it successfully?

Opens Registrations for Capital’s first ever 10km run for women

The multi-category running event for women will be held in New Delhi on 15th September

New Delhi 8th August- Prominent event management company Maximus Events – led by avid runner and fitness enthusiast Milind Soman together with Reema Sanghavi – on Tuesday announced the launch of the New Delhi leg of ‘HCG Pinkathon – Run to Lead’, India’s first ever 10km run for women. Registrations for the inaugural HCG Pinkathon, which will take place in the National Capital on the 15th of September 2013, are now open. The focus of the international running event is to encourage women’s health and fitness and create much-needed awareness against breast cancer.

The first ever Pinkathon – representing a milestone in the efforts to fight the hugely under-publicized ailment in India – was held in Mumbai on the 16th of December 2012 and Bangalore on the 7th of April 2013. In an overwhelming expression of support, more than 6000 women of all ages, across all walks of life participated in the events. Organised primarily as a 10km run, Pinkathon is now spread across twelve Indian cities and expanding to New Delhi, Hyderabad, Chandigarh and Pune this year. Women may also register for a 5km or 3km run.

Maximus Events has joined hands with the Women’s Cancer Initiative (WCI) led by Deveika Bhojwani and the Tata Memorial Hospital for the unique initiative. As Event Ambassador, Former Miss India and fitness enthusiast Gul Panag, together with Seema Jindal Jajodia, Owner, Nourish Organic, representing women from the corporate world, officially launched registrations for participants from across the country.

Well known Red FM 93.5 RJ Swati will be the brand mascot of the run in New Delhi. The RJ will train with HCG Pinkathon running coaches for a month to prepare for the 10km run.

HCG Pinkathon 2013 has garnered support from some of the leading brands in the country. While its known that actress Nargis Fakhri essays the character of Jaya,an international war journalist in Viacom 18 Motion Pictures,JA Entertainment and Rising Sun Films’ Madras Cafe,there is a lot of speculation over her character, with sources revealing that its fashioned on the lines of Shriratna award winning journalist Anita Pratap.

Anita Pratap’s interest in international politics led her to the ethnic conflicts in Sri Lanka. In 1983, Pratap interviewed Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam’s (LTTE) chief Velupillai Prabhakaran, the first ever interview Prabhakaran gave to the world in which he talked about his philosophies of establishing LTTE.

Says a source, “Nargis Fakhri is playing an international war journalist in Madras Cafe.However very few know that she’s essaying a character similar to Anita Pratap in the political thriller – Though the makers are being tight lipped about the details,speculation is still doing the rounds given that the political subject is highly controversial in nature”.

Border 2 has a different story to tell says director JP Dutta

After a whopping 16 years, director JP Dutta is back with the second installment of the Border franchise.

While there was a lot of speculation over the sequel of the 1997 blockbuster, putting all conjectures to rest, the makers announced Sunny Deol and Suneil Shetty as two of the film’s leads.Talking about the decision to make Border 2 , says director JP Dutta , “ I felt like making another war film and Border 2 tells a different story – I was going through the history of armed forces when I came across the Battle of Shakargarh Bulge, it was a story that needed to be told on celluloid”.
The director does confirm that he faced more difficulty with this project than he did with the original Border – “ Permissions were difficult to acquire – There were several technical issues communicated to be by government officials – It wasn’t so difficult and time consuming when I made Border”.

Border 2 will go on floors by the end of October.

The source further adds, “It’s a love triangle among Arjun, Ranbir and Jacqueline. The dramatic conflict is between the two guys… ”

Indian Idol Junior will see a ‘Dobaara’ effect on the upcoming ‘Qawali’ special gala episode. Imran Khan along with the beautiful Sonakshi Sinha will make an appearance on the show to promote their upcoming flick ‘Once upon a time in Mumbai Dobaara’.

Varun is seen hanging from the tenth floor of a building in Bangalore for a song from Main Tera Hero directed by his dad David dhawan. While performing this aerial sequence varun injured his back as he had to balance himself horizontally on the building, but after taking a break for a few hours varun got back into action and completed the sequence within time.

Hrithik Roshan deeply influenced by Anil Kapoor’s Acting style

Hrithik Roshan at the trailer launch of Krrish 3 where Anil Kapoor was present, said that he no longer refers to him as Anil Uncle: “I have dropped the uncle; because there’s no way he can look like an uncle,” Hrithik said..

Rakesh Roshan has requested Anil Kapoor to host the trailer launch of Krrish 3 and which he agreed immediately.

Hrithik at the event said that he was deeply influenced by Anil Kapoor’s acting style.

Addressing Anil Kapoor, Hrithik said, “Thank you… for being such an incredible influence on me as an actor. When I started off, I remember every single person who was observing me told me, ‘You are so much like Anil Kapoor.’ I was his assistant for four years while my dad was working with him, so my entire model of acting is based on him.”

However, Kapoor laughs it off, saying, “Everyone has their own style. But when Hrithik said that, I was moved. I respect him, because hardworking people have always impressed me. When they were working together for Kaho Na Pyaar Hai (2000), Rakesh would tell me, ‘Yeh bilkul tere jaisa hai (He is like you).’ But I would deny that.”

Kapoor has worked with the veteran director in several films, including Kala Bazaar (1989), Kishen Kanhaiya (1990) and Khel (1991; on which Hrithik was assisting his father).
