Bhushan Kumar – Umesh Shukla’s exclusive 5-film deal

After Aashiqui 2, Bhushan Kumar announced the huge slate of T-Series home production films. Bhushan Kumar now looking to push the envelope with a star-studded slate of films, having roped in director Umesh Shukla of OMG! fame an exclusive 5 film deal.

Bhushan Kumar who had signed Umesh Shukla for a four film first impressed with his scripts and style of film-making, has now roped him for an exclusive 5-film deal. Umesh will exclusively work with Bhushan Kumar in completing 5 films under the T-Series banner, post which we will work with other producers.

First film that will go on floors is a family drama starring Rishi Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan as father-son that will start shooting by October this year. Bhushan Kumar is in talks with several big names and are soon to zero in on an actress to star alongside the Abhishek.

Confirming the news says Bhushan Kumar, “Yes we have extended and now signed an exclusive 5-film deal with director Umesh Shukla…the first being an Abhishek-Bachchan starrer. He is an extremely versatile in his style of filmmaking and as a producer I have full faith in his ability to helm the film. We are very excited to have him onboard.”

Director Umesh Shukla says, “I am really happy with the deal Bhushanji and I have finalized. I went with him with different story ideas and we decided on 5 story ideas out of which Abhishek starrer is the first to go on floors. After all the discussions, I have signed the dotted line and I am really happy to be now a part of T-Series family. I am exclusively signed with them for five films which I will be only concentrating on directing first.”

Chennai Express to bring Kolkata jhaal muri, Delhi chaat and Mumbai bhel

As Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express rolls in this week, select cinema halls in the country will have audiences getting a taste of some delicious snacks from different Indian states.

If you are wondering how, we can let you in on a little secret. The exhibitor chain Rathi Group of Cinemas has tied up with the 60-year-old Kolkata-based company Mukharochak Foods to offer popular snack dishes like jhaal muri from Kolkata, kabuli chana chaat from Delhi and bhel from Mumbai at some of their theaters in their cinema hall chain.

Starting with Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express starring SRK and Deepika Padukone with a special song dedicated to none other than Rajnikanth, the mouth-watering experience will extend to Milan Luthria’s Once Upon A Time in Mumbai Dobaara! (OUATIMD) starring Akshay Kumar, Imran Khan and Sonakshi Sinha; closely followed by Prakash Jha’s Satyagraha starring Amitabh Bachchan with Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor.

OUATIMD producer Ekta Kapoor is kicked about the idea! “It’s a novel initiative in elevating the viewer’s movie-watching experience,” she quips.

Akshaye Rathi, the brain behind the association with the Kolkata-based company, sums it up saying, “Indians are passionate about films and food, so it can’t get better than offering the best of both worlds”. Get inside the ‘Emergency Room’ with National Geographic Channel

Series to take viewers inside the most critical and life altering moments in the ER

New Delhi, August 6, 2013: Known for bringing the best of infotainment to the world, National Geographic Channel, in association with Medanta Hospital, announced the launch of the ‘Emergency Room’ series. This series will showcase the dramatic and heart wrenching episodes that take place within the walls of a hospital. Shot inside the Emergency Room of Medanta, the series will encompass the story of doctors and hospital staff that work relentlessly to defeat death and heal sickness as well as the emotional tale of the ailing patients looking for a medicine or a miracle to save them. Joi Barua to compose music for John Abraham’s film Banana

Mumbai, 6th August, 2013: Joi Barua has indeed come a long way; and has made mark for himself in Bollywood. After being the voice for many actors and having popular independent songs, Joi has finally bagged a complete film as a music director for himself. Joi Barua will compose the music for John Abrahm Productions next project tentatively titled “Banana”

Joi is very thrilled and excited for composing music for the film; he adds, “It is a film about adolescence to teenage. It’s about a young boy and how he deals with the new adventures in his life.
