While shooting recently for a special show for Colors, Eid-e-Jashn, to promote his forthcoming ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara’, Akshay Kumar thoroughly enjoying himself did an impromptu performance and joined Pakistani Sufi duo Sabri Brothers, as they sang a famous qawwali number, “Chadhta Suraj” .

The song brought back fond memories of the actor’s friend whom he lost years ago. Said Akshay, “The song is dedicated to a close friend of mine who passed away at a very young age – We would hum this song together in college and I think of him every time I hear it”.

Akshay Kumar was joined by his Once Upon …co-stars Sonakshi Sinha and Imran Khan, as they performed to the songs from the film (Ye Tune Kya Kiya, Chugliyaan, Tayyab Ali.)

The mega event on Colors is expected to be telecast on 11th August, a few days prior to the release of the film.

Nasha- Beyond Sensual!

Poonam Pandey’s debut- A movie made by the director of Jism… A movie that has promised to not hold back, and has been largely uninhibited in it’s sensuality.

The plot revolves around an 18 year old boy, Sahil, played brilliantly by debutant Shivam Patil, who falls head over heels in love with his 25 year old teacher – Anita – the ever sensual Poonam Pandey.

While many were expecting sleaze and crass material from the movie; it manages to surprise you with its delicate yet no-holds-barred treatment. Director Amit Saxena gives a wonderful treatment to the intimate scenes between Anita & Sahil, it reminds you of the times you’ve lusted after your school teacher and dreamed of such moments.

There is a lot of focus on Sahil & his friends, their lives, their clothes, their friends & girlfriends. All the scenes involving this wacky gang are a joy to watch, they bring back all the crazy antics we’ve carried out during our college days.

The director by Amit Saxena shoots the film quite beautifully, the shot where Poonam Pandey walks towards Shivam Patil is a visual wonder!

Talking about the performance of Poonam Pandey, known for being a seductress, is playing just that in the movie, so it’s no wonder that she’s a natural in front of the camera. But the real surprise in the movie is Shivam Patil, he is surprisingly camera friendly, and manages to evoke sense of relatability through his portrayal of Sahil.

The music, given by Siddharth and Sangeet Haldipur, has got a play-again quality to it, especially ‘Tera Nasha’ & ‘The Goti Song’ will be remembered long after the movie. The peppy dialogues by Radhika Anand will definitely cheer you up, and form an instant connect with the film’s target audience.

In summary, Nasha is a movie that is sensual, but importantly, it is also a lot more. The teens, their friendship, their wacky moments are the surprise element of this movie, and make the movie the perfect one to watch with your group of friends. Watch it for them!


Popular singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya distributed food and clothes with Radhe Maa Trust

Mumbai.Mamtamai Shri Radhe Guru Maa believes that true devotees of Shri Hari do not confine themselves to the temple; they perform their duty by serving God in the bodies of all beings by feeding them, clothing them, and giving them medical care. Therefore, Mamtamai Shri Radhe Guru Maa Charitable Trust has been donating food grains, sweets, and snacks and cooking oil from the last 10 years.

On 25 July, 2013, the trust has organized an Ann Daan (Food Grains – Rice, Wheat, cooking oil, pulses, etc) programme at Bal Bhavan – Girl Orphanage and Jeevan Asha – Old age home, Andheri West, Mumbai. The event included an appearance by award winning bollywood singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya. Abhijeet says “Today, I got an opportunity through Radhe Maa Trust to serve these people with food and clothes. I feel great to be associated with such noble cause. It was a heart touching experience.”

Beneficiaries of the Jeevan Asha – old age home are physically weak and require medical assistance, whereas Bal Bhavan is a Girl Orphanage, having 150 girls of different age group (10 yrs onwards).

Mumbai, July 26: It’s a ticking time bomb, unless, we swing into the affirmative and take action now. Thus in lieu of World Tiger Day celebrated on July 29, Taj Safaris has put into action, a well-thought out and very focused online campaign #StriveForStripes.

This campaign draws attention to the rampant destruction of the natural ecosystem, which is the root-cause of the extinction of many species.

The three stage campaign will consist of ongoing activities on Taj Safaris’ Facebook, Twitter, Google + and Youtube channels sensitizing people to the environmental factors affecting wild life in general and the tiger specifically. Phase 1 of this campaign entails the creation of a special online tab to promote the pledge – #StriveForStripes with tiger facts & trivia; as well as a forum to voice opinions designed to aid tiger lovers to take a solemn pledge to do everything in their power to help sustain the ecology, the wildlife habitats and thus the tiger species itself.

The central event will be a culmination of all voices on July 29 on all media. A live chat event with Naturalist Bittu Sahgal, Editor of Sanctuary Asia Magazine has been slated for July 29 at 4 pm. The chat will underline the importance of the event.

Phase 3 of the campaign will be a proactive focus on what people can do in their own way to help maintain ecological balance, preserve the environment and protect all living creatures that have inherited nature’s heritage in equal measure, with equal right.

It is also Taj Safaris’ hope that by joining voices, they will be able to influence opinion-leaders in society and help spread awareness better. NVISTA announces 13 semi-finalists in the LYCRA® Future Designers at the WGSN Global Fashion Awards 2013

· Indian design talent to be showcased at the global level

London, 23 July 2013 – LYCRA® brand owner INVISTA is delighted to announce the thirteen semi-finalists for the LYCRA® Future Designers Award – part of the WGSN Global Fashion Awards ceremony. The announcement was made at St Martins Lane, London (UK), in a reception co-hosted by singer and style innovator Kate Nash.

As part of the shortlist, one Indian designer- Himani Harish, has also been included. A keen celebrator of international fashion, other shortlisted candidates in this year’s edition of LYCRA® Future Designers include candidates from seven different countries: Hanna Lucatelli from Brazil; Han Zhongshu, Chow Bohan and Shixuan Zhao, from China; Alejandra Perdomo and Daniela Larrea from Colombia; Alison Vincent, Eva Lai, Irina Lazova and Lucy Gardner from UK; Silvia Silvia from Singapore; and Patty Clariza, from the United States.

Participants were invited to submit designs that could be manufactured using LYCRA® fiber products, along with mood boards and supporting documentation making their case. Entries needed to be made up of any of the following categories of apparel: intimates, swim, active sportswear or hosiery/tights.

The new store showcases the latest winter 2013 collection from Bata

Bata today opened its largest store in India at Viviana Mall, Thane-W. The store was inaugurated by Bollywood sensation, Alia Bhatt, Mr. Jack Clemons, CEO, Bata Shoe Organization and Mr. Rajeev Gopalakrishnan, Group Managing Director, Bata India were also present during the ceremony which was followed by the grand launch of the upcoming Autumn Winter Collection. When Sugandha made Bappi da emotional

The ever cheerful Bappi Lahiri turned teary eyed and showed a different side to his personality on the sets of Sony Entertainment Television’s popular music reality show Indian Idol Junior.

Bappi da made an appearance on the sets of Indian Idol Junior for an evening dedicated to him were the contestants along with the judges were very excited to be in the company of the legendary music composer. After some electrifying performances Sugandha took stage. Her song ‘Aao tumhe chand pe le jau’ not only got received a standing ovation from all the judges but emotionally moved Bappi da as well. So mesmerized was Bappi da that he promised to gift a gold chain to Sugandha. “I am so moved by your performance that I cannot express it in words. As a token of appreciation I will send you a gold chain during the next episode”. Sugandha’s happiness knew no bounds and she was seen smiling ear to ear.
