The reality show singing sensations Toshi & Sharib have on public request come up with their debut pop album French Kiss which was unveiled by Sunny Deol.

The music album produced by Prashant Kumar of Bluenote Entertainment was a huge success as the Singh Saab himself unveiled the album.

Toshi & Sharib played perfect hosts for the evening & sang few musical notes from their upcoming album.

Being the first ones to use a Heli-cam to shoot acts live at an event, Zee TV brings in innovation for its viewers…

JPEG205.JPGKnown for its flexibility and small-size, Heli-cams have off late been in trend in the market to obtain aerial pictures or motion images using video, still or motion film cameras. This technology has helped various astronauts and scientists procure panoramic views of earth, but after understanding the ease with which it allows to capture large audiences and fields, Zee TV used this innovation to shoot Zee Rishtey Awards this year. Being the first ones in the Indian Television fraternity, to use a heli-cam for a shoot, Zee TV amazed the viewers and the artists alike by using this state-of-art camera.

Used to giving re-takes for a particular scene to be shot from various angles, the artists were relieved and happy to have finished shooting a particular dance move in one go with the use of a heli-cam. While the still cameras did their work, Heli-cam was being used at the same time to shoot top angles of the entire evening. With a multi-rotar system that pans and tilts at the press of a button and goes upto the height of a 1000 ft, the use of Helicam made it easy to shoot various aerial stints and gigs done by the artists.

Operated by highly trained professionals, the heli-cam was used first time ever on Indian Television to shoot acts live at an event. An in-built GPS system helps the cam to navigate and shoot at ease and all those were watching the event live were amazed to see a flying camera taking shots. With special features like a battery operated on six motors, and a gyro stabilizer head that cuts the vibration to give a smooth shot, the shots taken through a heli-cam will interest the viewers as well.

The audience is surely in for a treat with some state-of-art technology that has been used to produce Zee Rishtey Awards. The innovation is sure to see a change in the way awards and events in Indian Telly industry will henceforth be made.

November 28, 2013, Mumbai: Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) organized its 4th conference on ‘Diesel for Future’ today in Mumbai. Senior industry representatives and Bureaucrats attended the conference addressing the need to recognize diesel as a viable fuel for transportation from energy security and environmental standpoints. The conference also laid emphasis for the government to set priority on framing a far sighted roadmap towards cleaner emission norms, sustainable pricing model for diesel fuel and policy need for fleet modernization.

T-Series’ ABCD song crosses 1 million views on YouTube

T-Series’ upcoming movie Yaariyan’ released its first song ‘ABCD – Yaariyan’ on 25th on the T-Series official YouTube channel and within two days the video crossed 1 million views.

The song composed by Pritam and written by Amitabh Bhattacharya also has rap portions written and sung by Yo Yo Honey Singh. A pyjama party song has already created a new meaning for ABCD that is viewed by more than one million YouTube viewers in two days and still counting. Zee Cinema releases a special mash-up of the film’s
chartbusters on the eve of its World Television Premiere


India’s No.1 Hindi Movie Channel, Zee Cinema, is clearly on a roll with a slew of world television premieres in the last 6 months including Any Body Can Dance (A.B.C.D), Kai po Che, Barfi, Heroine, Race 2, Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, Himmatwala and Phata Poster Nikla Hero. The handsome actor toured the country this week to promote its world television premiere. Miss Lovely set for India, US release

Ashim Ahluwalia’s Miss Lovely is up for a January India-release through distributors Easel Films and Eagle Movies.

Miss Lovely marks the first release for Easel, the brainchil of distribution executive Abhishek Gautam and filmmakers Bikramjit Gupta, Atanu Mukherjee and Pooja Gupte. Veteran distributor Sunny Khanna is in with Easel and Eagle to release Miss Lovely, according to Screen Daily.

“We hope to release across 200-300 screens,” said Abhishek Gautam. “As a team we want to focus on distributing independent cinema in India.” The company will also release Sangee Thongdok’s Crossing Bridges, made in the north-east Indian dialect of Sherdukpen, that premiered at Mumbai Film Festival.

Meanwhile, former IFC Films executive Ryan Werner and distribution agency Required Viewing are working on the US release of Miss Lovely, which is scheduled for March 2014. Cinetic Media’s FilmBuff is handling digital distribution for North America.

Miss Lovely premiered at Cannes in Un Certain Regard in 2012 and won best film in the India Gold competition at last year’s Mumbai Film Festival. Fortissimo Films sold the film to France’s Ad Vitam in Cannes 2012.

Bhushan Kumar announces Umesh Shukla’s next All is Well

T-Series headhoncho Bhushan Kumar recently announced the title of his venture with director Umesh Shukla “All is Well” starring Abhishek Bachchan,Rishi Kapoor and Asin.

The slice-of-life film that went on floors earlier this year, initially had the title registered with Vidhu Vinod Chopra who was gracious enough to let go of the title, given his long standing equation with producer Bhushan Kumar.

KASHISH voted Top 5 Coolest LGBT Film festival in the worl

Only Indian festival to be featured in MovieMaker Magazine’s annual coolest film festivals from around the world

KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival has been voted MovieMaker Magazine’s 2013 Top Five Coolest LGBT Film Festivals in the world. KASHISH, which debuted in 2010, is South-Asia’s biggest and India’s only mainstream LGBT film festival.

Festival Director Sridhar Rangayan says, “I cannot even say this is a dream come true because we never even dreamt of something like this! When we started KASHISH, we just wanted to provide a platform where everyone could watch international quality gay and lesbian films without shame or fear in a mainstream space. We never ever thought our festival will grow so big in just four years. It is absolutely the hard work of our organizing team and volunteers and the great enthusiasm and support of the audiences. KASHISH not only celebrates good cinema, but highlights hopes, desires, struggles and victories of the LGBT communities around the world. KASHISH is our way of raising the rainbow flag high above proudly.”

MovieMaker, which has been publishing its annual list of coolest film festivals from around the world every year, decided this year to add niche categories like Documentary and Horror/Sci-Fi Festivals, Short Film and Comedy Festivals and Environmental/Social Cause /Women’s Film Festivals, LGBT and Ethnic/National Film Festival and asked their readers to nominate and vote for what they see as the coolest. The definition of coolest was seen as a combination of quality cinema, great parties, alternative venues, shoestring-budget, hyper-indie films, the opportunity to gawk at celebrities and connect with fellow movie makers – a mix that they might not get to see anywhere else! Over four months, they received more than 15,000 votes and used a specialized visual survey platform to finalize the audience favourite winners.

KASHISH was the only Indian film festival be featured in the magazine’s annual coolest film festivals list.

The fifth edition of KASHISH is scheduled to be held May 21 – 25, 2014. Film submissions have already opened and the festival hopes to bring a larger program of qualitative LGBT themed films. KASHISH is the first and only gay & lesbian film festival in India to be held in a mainstream theater and the only queer festival to receive clearance from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

The four successful editions held in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 have screened around 110-132 films from 25-40 countries every year. The festival has been supported by a number of Bollywood celebrities, filmmakers, actors and writers, as well as many international filmmakers and film festivals.

An alumnus of the prestigious IIM-A, a music album titled ‘College Days’, and creating his own band ‘Synchronicity’, Gaurav Dagaonkar is fast making a name in Bollywood in the category of upcoming music directors.

Gaurav currently awaits the music release of Shekhar Suman’s directorial debut film, ‘Heartless’, for which he has composed music and says, “I am happy about my music in the film as we have put a lot of soul into it, and I’m confident that the songs will be chartbusters. I can’t wait for the music to be released.” Sonu Nigam, Arijit Singh Sunidhi Chauhan, Neeti Mohan and Mohit Chauhan are the singers who have sung for Gaurav’s composition for the film.

Gaurav, having a strong academic background, has recently formed a band ‘Synchronicity’, which renders mash-ups of both classic melodies as well as current Bollywood and English numbers and is very popular, both on YouTube as well as in the live shows circuit.

“The music of ‘Heartless’, which is slated to be out in the coming month, is the conquering of a milestone” says the talented Gaurav, who has managed to do some work in Bollywood, which has already brought him recognition, but he wants more. Gaurav has been a music director for one of Vikram Bhatt’s movies, and he has composed & written a song sung by maestro, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, which gained overnight popularity for the music video crossing a million hits on social media!

Heartless will be Gaurav’s next big thing, prior to which he has composed for the Akshay Kumar & Sonakshi Sinha starrer ‘Joker’, in which his item song ‘Kafirana’ (I Want Just You), picturized on Chitrangada Singh, became a chart topper.

10,000 women register for HCG Pinkathon in 2013

Pink Sister Bipasha Basu supports event for second consecutive year

Mumbai, 27th November 2013: HCG Pinkathon, India’s first ever multi city 10km run for women, today announced the completion of 10,000 registrations this year across four cities – Bangalore, New Delhi, Pune and Mumbai.

The stunning Bipasha Basu, a pink sister, has extended her support to the event for the second consecutive year. Registrations for the second edition of Mumbai’s ‘HCG Pinkathon – Run to Lead’, which is on Sunday, 15th of December 2013, are currently open.

The focus of the international running event is to encourage women’s health and fitness and create much-needed awareness against breast cancer. In India, where more than one lakh women will be newly diagnosed with breast cancer by 2015, there is tremendous need to educate people about the causes and prevention of the much-neglected condition. According to the Population Based Cancer Registry Report 2010, in 2010, 90,659 women were diagnosed with breast cancer. In 2015, the number will rise to 106,214 and in 2020 an estimated 123,634 women will be afflicted by the condition.

Much needs to be done to spread awareness and HCG Pinkathon has been continuing to spread awareness on breast cancer and educate women about its causes and prevention through the run. It is also helping raise adequate funds to fight the ailment in India. Awareness for the twin causes of women’s wellness and dealing with breast cancer are being further enhanced through integrated activities on social media and peripheral promotional ground events.

McAfee Report reveals that Indian Tweens are potentially vulnerable to risky internet behaviour

India, 27 November 2013 –There is a growing trend of Indian tweens (kids between 8-12 years old) that are rapidly adopting internet through multiple devices and a variety of social networking platforms. McAfee unveiled its Tweens & Technology Report 2013 which analyses the online behaviour of India’s next generation of digital natives. Following are few highlights from the report-

· On an average, Indian tweens are using between 3 and 4 devices that can be internet enabled

· Internet access is predominantly PC/laptop based (71% and 76% access the internet via these devices respectively), however 42% access the internet via a mobile device

· Almost half (45%) of the online tweens access internet post 8 pm. They are regularly playing games (91%) on tablet or chatting with friends on mobile (63%). Tweens are widely using mobile/ smartphones to access internet (68% use mobile to access the internet)

· Despite the age eligibility for Facebook being 13 years, 3 in 4 (70%) tweens admit to currently using Facebook.

· Online tweens are potentially vulnerable to risky behaviour on the internet as 36% of Online Tweens have chatted to someone online that they didn’t know previously

The findings of McAfee’s Tweens & Technology Report 2013 were released at a panel discussion with Melanie Duca, Consumer Marketing Director (APAC) McAfee, Venkat Krishnapur, Vice-President of Engineering- Consumer and Mobile, McAfee India, Anindita Mishra, McAfee Cybermum India, Dr. V. Jayanthini, M.D, D.P.M, Leading Psychiatrist and Meeta Sengupta, a veteran educationist and advisor to schools.

Speaking about the relevance of these new-age parenting challenges, Anindita Mishra, McAfee Cybermum India said, “There is an increasing influence of the online world on children’s persona that cannot be undermined because of the emotional and developmental impact it has. The role of parents in delivering safe and positive cyber experience to their kids is significant than ever before. Having a genuine and transparent two-way communication with children is absolutely fundamental to establishing a safe and positive cyber experience.”

“With malware writers mastering their craft, they continue to transfer their skills to new and popular mobile platforms in addition to PCs and laptops. The proliferation of multiple mobile device usage and this staggering increase in new malware will require Indian parents to recalibrate on how to arm their children with best online practices ensuring safe online experiences for them.” said Venkat Krishnapur, Vice-President of Engineering- Consumer and Mobile, McAfee India.

Melanie Duca, Consumer Marketing Director (APAC) McAfee said, “As a company, McAfee is dedicated to making the Internet safe by providing resources to help educate and protect families. Our Cybermum initiative and cyber education program in Indian schools reinforce commitment towards this cause.” Across APAC, McAfee has developed a Cyber Education Program, which is delivered to school-aged children by McAfee employee volunteers. The initiative has now been rolled out in India whereby McAfee is reaching out to Indian schools and will scale up the program over the next one year.

McAfee’s Tweens & Technology Report 2013 was conducted through a survey administered across Indian online tweens aged 8-12 years old comprising 572 male and 428 female respondents from Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Delhi.

Annexure 1- India Analysis Sheet- McAfee’s Tweens & Technology Report 2013

Daily dose of internet usage/ online hours has become a must for tweens.

a) 53% of online tweens are online daily between 1-3 hours

b) One in three tweens would miss the internet and their phone if it was missing for a day

c) Tweens are online for approximately 2 hours a day and 45% of online tweens are online later than 8pm

d) Within 4 hours (from 5 pm to 9 pm) 76% use internet while 23% of tweens online till after 9pm

On an average, online tweens in India are using between 3 and 4 devices that can be internet enabled – laptop, mobile & desktop predominantly.

a) 61% of tweens are spending 1-4 hours daily on desktop

b) Mobile is important – 40% of Tweens use tablets and 68% use mobile to access the internet

Tweens have a clear preference for not only the devices used for internet connectivity but also the type of activity on these devices. So while desktop is preferred mainly for home work, tablets are dominant when it comes to exchanging pictures and playing games.

a) 70% use desktop for home work related stuff compared to 38% using tablet

b) 49% use tablets for playing games & exchanging pictures compared to 40% using desktop

c) 22% tweens spend 2-4 hours every day on Xbox

Smartphone/ Mobile:

Internet access is still predominantly PC/laptop based, however, mobile is important – 40% of Tweens use tablets and 68% use mobile to access the internet

a) 16% of tweens are spending more than 4 hours each day on smartphones/ mobile

b) 9 out of 10 tweens use mobile phone (89%) and tablets (91%) to play games

c) Only 15% of tweens use phone for home- work related aspects

In terms of social networking platforms, FB is by far the most popular site, followed by Skype and Twitter. FB is used significantly more than Skype and Twitter

a) Top 3 ranking in terms of usage – 70%- Facebook, 44%- Skype and 27%- Twitter

b) All sites (especially Facebook) are more popular with older Tweens 10-12 years old (FB usage ranges from 58% for 8 year olds to 79% for 12 year olds)

c) 88% of FB users use FB to share photos of themselves while 73% use it to share photos family & friends

d) Almost half of the tweens surveyed share information about themselves over FB (41%)

e) This year, Skype has emerged as more widely used than twitter whereby one out of two tweens uses Skype compared to one out of four who uses twitter

Facebook facts-

i. Parents generally know what’s going on – 89% are friends with their child on Facebook

ii. 89% of Tweens using Facebook have their parents’ permission to use the site

iii. 73% of Tweens using Facebook asked their parents to be their friend

iv. 83% of Tweens feel it is okay for them to be using Facebook because their parents are

v. 70% of tweens were taught to use Facebook by the parents. 52% were taught by friends

vi. Users share a wide variety of items on Facebook – 88% share photos of themselves, 73% photos of family & friends, 59% events and 59% information about themselves

With Facebook, a significant number of parents are handholding their kids on the platform by assisting them in setting up their account and monitoring their activities. But parents apply internet rules in terms usage and timings very strictly, much to the dislike of tweens.

a) 89% of online tweens have parental permission to use the site

b) 89% of online tweens are also friends with their parents on FB

c) 70% of online tweens say their parents showed them how to use Facebook

d) 57% claim they were helped by their parents when setting up one of their account

e) 89% of tweens using Facebook have their parents’ permission to use

f) 87% of parents place limits on online usage

g) 53% of parents remove online devices from tweens bedrooms at night

h) 49% of online tweens are frustrated by these rules

A disturbing trend on the rise among tweens is their apathy towards their own online safety.

i) 58% of the surveyed tweens use risky / low level security passwords online.

j) Almost half of the tweens surveyed share information about themselves over FB (41%)

It is not uncommon for tweens to be exposed to online nastiness; however, a good thing is that they are not passive observers.

a) 12 year olds are more likely to have seen nasty comments online than 8 year olds (33% vs. 16%)

b) 1 in 4 (27%) of online tweens has seen as nasty common directed at them or a friend online, While 21% did nothing , most of the tweens who have witnessed online cruelty either told a friend (49%), told parent (46%), told teacher (20%), told family member(20%) or someone else or looked onto internet for help rather than doing nothing

They are becoming more trusting of the virtual world to familiarise themselves with unknown people, in spite of being aware that it is risky

a) 36% of online tweens have spoken to someone online that they didn’t previously know

b) 12 year olds are more likely to chat with strangers than 8 year olds (40% vs. 25%)

c) 22% of online tweens have shared personal information online – 26% who did share this did not think it to be risky

Jayantilal Gada is a strong believer of time tested stories. He has invested and is working on two such films – Sholay 3D and Mahabharat.

While both the subject are classics; he wanted them to be told in a new format to a newer audience. Today’s younger generation has not seen or discovered these films.

While Sholay they have converted into a 3D format, Mahabharat is in animation formation with a never seen before star cast.
