Krian Media acquires International Distribution Rights for Akshay Kumar Starrer ‘Boss’’

· Marks Krian Media’s second significant partnership with Viacom 18, after their ‘G.I Joe’ association

20th September 2013, Mumbai: Krian Media Ltd today announced that it had bagged the International Distribution rights for the Viacom 18 Motion Pictures Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Boss’. The film will be released in over 400 screens worldwide, including Europe, North America, South East Asia and Australia, amongst others. ‘Boss’ is scheduled to release overseas on 16th October 2013

The acquisition marks an important milestone for Krian Media as it is the first big budget mainstream Bollywood movie that it has acquired for international distribution. In a short span since its inception Krian Media Ltd., in addition to having acquired and released ‘G.I. Joe’, it has also acquired two Tollywood and two Mollywood films for USA distribution of which it has already released one Malyalam film. Krian also recently acquired A.R. Murugadoss and Fox Star Studios ‘Raja Rani’ for a Pan USA release.

Looking at the potential of international markets, Raj Malik, Vice President, Film Acquisition & Distribution, Krian Media, stated: “It is no secret that with the explosion of India internationally, Indian cinema has also been breaking newer barriers and crossing over to many more international markets. Likewise International cinema has also been increasingly making its presence felt at the Indian Box office and we at Krian Media endeavour to become the ideal channel of choice for both the above.

The movie revolves around Delhi police and virus, When Delhi Police have trouble with a hacking case, and they approach Mickey (Manish Paul) to help catch the cyber culprits. The trailer reveals a few clips of Micky speeding away, performing some super stunts as he tries to get away from his pursuers. Also featuring Manish Choudhary, Varun Badola, Puja Gupta, Nitish Pandey, Raghav Kakkar and Vikesh Kumar, Mickey Virus is slated to release on October 25th.

Deepika Padukone’s 2 Day Filming for Rajinikanth’s Kochadaiiyaan

Forthcoming Indian blockbuster and answer to Hollywood’s Avatar Kochadaiiyaan – The Legend, will see superstars Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone star alongside each other in this magnum opus feature film.

With a filming schedule and process like no other Indian film to date, owing to the extensive use of Motion Captured Photorealistic Technology, director Soundarya Rajnikanth Ashwin shot Kochadaiiyaan with Deepika in a record two days since each expression and motion were recreated on screen after capturing every gesture permutation by the talent. This would later be manipulated to create the desired action on screen for each star, who would be photorealistic.

Sporting a specially designed body suit with track points on the joints of the body which infrared light picked up and transferred onto screens, ready to be animated, Deepika, sans makeup, shot for the film and two entire songs in 48 hours. Once Deepika’s physical appearance and structure was projected onto screen, makeup was applied along with other details.

Insiders have said that since the film is set in a mythological era, Deepika’s look was in-keeping with that period. Her look, style and personality had to be sketched on paper first and then created on screen via expert technicians through the motion capture technology.

Speaking about Deepika’s filming, Soundarya said: “When I first approached Deepika with Kochadaiiyaan, she was a little apprehensive and had several questions pertaining to the filming process, how the technology would work, and most importantly, how she would look! Once those questions were cleared she was fully committed to the project. She’s a thorough professional and she worked with us to ensure we complete her filming portions in 48 hours.She gave flawless takes and had all of us impressed with her enthusiasm and drive. She was quite relieved to not be wearing make-up for a film for the first time in her career.”

Kochadaiiyaan is set to blaze a trail globally in cutting-edge Motion Capturing with Photorealistic Technology, as it rivals and transcends the technological capabilities of Hollywood masterpieces Avatar, Tin Tin and Beowulf. Raagini does a cameo in Marathi film

Raagini Nandwani, made her Bollywood debut with Adhyayan Suman in Dehradhun Diaries,and then won hearts down south starring THALAIVA opposite Tamil superstar Vijay. When the movie released she got an astounding response from the audience.

She has many mouthwatering offers but she doesn`t want to rush into any, at the moment. According to the sources, the starlet has just bagged a role in a highly anticipated Marathi flick. It`s based on the life of Swami Samarth. Though she is playing a cameo, she made no fuss about it. The reason being she is deeply attached to him and follows his teachings dearly.

An insider informs us that Ragini is so familiar with his stories that her inputs helped the script writers to a good extent and nothing was lost in translation. Many crew members were not well informed about the story but a chat with Ragini and the script writers cleared their queries

Her role is of utmost importance to the movie. She is said to be the surprise element of the movie and gets the movie going. The director too, was very pleased with the actor, for the hard work she put in. She said, “For most people its about making money and entertaining the masses. But, for some it`s about knowledge, experience and hard work. Ragini comes in the latter one. The environment that she creates on the sets gets is remarkable. “The movie is based on Guru Shri Swami Samartha and it is expected to see few big names from Marathi industry”.

Previously the same production house produced the superhit Marathi Serial Krupa Sindhu telecasted on Mee Marathi. The show was one of the highest TRP grosser of its time. It was based on Shri Swami Samartha and Mr. Praful Samant played the role of swami in the serial. Now Praful Samant is playing swami again in movie “Krupa Swaminchi”

Newbie Ragini joins the BMW bandwagon…

Ragini Nandwani, created quite a stir with her latest Tamil movie THALAIVA in which she shared screen space with Tamil heartthrob Vijay, is the latest actress to join the BMW bandwagon.

According to the sources, her family attended the special screening of the movie along with many famous faces from the southern cinema. They were extremely pleased with the appreciation their daughter got from the audience. Her mother was so entranced with her performance that she gifted her a brand new BMW the very next day!!!

Ragini, a die-hard BMW fan, always wanted one and was happy to finally receive it. Its good to see that her hard work has finally paid off.
