Ali Zafar on a roll

Ali Zafar on a roll

After the stupendous success of his debut film, followed by Yash Raj’s Meri Brother Ki Dulhan, Ali Zafar is back with a bang, with a kitty of films that best suits his sensibilities ,starting with the remake of the 1981 cult – classic Chashme Baddoor directed by David Dhawan.

The actor having recently watched the final edit of the film, is mighty pleased with the way its shaped up.Says Ali “ When I saw the original Chashme baddoor, I had thought that the plot must not loose its organic and authentic nature and it must be a challenge to render it into modern times and aesthetics which David sir has done brilliantly. It’s highly entertaining remaining in the family movie viewing space. I think we are all very excited about it.”

Ali Zafar has also been signed on for Neeraj Pandey’s ambitious next, tentatively titled “Aman Ki Asha”, which is scheduled to go on floors March next year.

If that wasn’t all,the actor also has producers queuing up to sign him , given his versatility and the certain exclusivity he has managed to maintain as an artist.

Next on the Ali’s plate is a film with a director renowned for his luck at the box office, announcement of which will soon be around the corner. Followed by 3 films in the pipeline, details of which are tightly being kept under wraps.

Commenting on the caution with which he approaches his films says Ali “ I don’t want to go on a signing spree just for the heck of it. Its my firm opinion that if you believe in the project ,you will do justice to it. I also don’t want to miss out on the quality time with my family and i can’t let music which is my passion take a back seat so i have been writing songs and working on my next album in my studio. Having said that I have come across a few directors whose work I love and their scripts too, so I think you will see me a lot more now.”

Pritish Nandy Communications & HSI to host World Compassion Day with his Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama

Non-Violence takes centre-stage as Mumbai nears the fourth anniversary of the tragic 26/11, celebrating World Compassion Day this 28th November, 2012,a day for global icons to take stage and share their ideologies, values and principles on how to make the Gandhian ideals of Ahimsa and Compassion relevant to our times.

World Compassion Day hosted in Mumbai by Pritish Nandy and the Humane Society International (the global partner of The Humane Society of the United States) will see the honorary presence of keynote speaker, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama along with Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor, with the focus this year being on animal welfare.

Speaking about World Compassion Day, The Dalai Lama says, “Today, more than ever before, life must be characterized by a sense of Universal responsibility, not only nation to nation and human to human but also human to other forms of life.”

Anil Kapoor says, “Mahatma Gandhi said, ‘The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated.’ Compassion goes beyond shaking our heads and sighing, ‘oh that’s too bad’. Compassion means, understanding the suffering of others, and wanting to do something about it. We must first want to change the circumstances of others and then we must try our best to change these circumstances.”

PNC Chairman Pritish Nandy says, “Eventually, WCD will be a global forum for inspiring and supporting change across social, political and environmental platforms to make the value of compassion actionable in our times. Unless we believe in ahimsa, we can’t make the world a better place for future generations.”

Andrew Rowan, President and CEO of HSI says, “Over the centuries, leading thinkers have noted that kindness to animals and concern for humans are different sides of the same coin. More recently, science has shown that people who abuse animals are also often found to be abusive towards their fellow humans. Humane Society International is excited and proud to be part of an initiative that celebrates the virtues of ahimsa and compassion for both animals and humans. The more you give, the more you have to give.”

It was very good and I got good roles. Fortunately, I met a lot of nice people. Also, the people like me. I am in this position due to the love and affection of the people around me & public. If public like your movie than film industry people like you otherwise they forget.

Q: Why are you known as Action hero in Bhojpuri movie industry?

My movies like ‘Bhojpuria Daroga’, ‘Bhojpuria Bhaiya’,’Masiha babu’, etc were super hits action film. This gave me the title of action hero. Later, a lot of film producers changed their stories to add action scenes in the movies I was signed up for. However, I have done ‘chandu Ki Chameli’, which is a comedy and was liked by people. In many movies, I have played the role of a mad man. I have acted on many roles in the movies.

Q: You have acted in TV serials too.

TV is a big medium and not artist can escape its pull. Most big stars are with TV channels too. TV helps discovering the talents and reaching more number of people. I would like to work in both film and TV.

Q: You have not acted in Hindi movies?

I have a big image in Bhojpuri movies. In Hindi, I have to get a suitable role. By acting in small roles, I don’t want to show Bhojpuri industry in a bad light.

Q: Where do Ravi Kishan, Manoj Tiwari, Nirhuaa stand in the industry? Who is the real Bhojpuri superstar?

I am comfortable in my position. I have a different style and identity. Whether it is Hindi or Bhojpuri industry or other language film industry in India, the only superstar today is Amitabh Bachchan, Just because you have at a tag of Super Star in newspapers dosen’t mean that you are actually so. Your lifestyle, interaction with people etc are also important.

Q: What are your future plans?

I will try to show my talents in Hindi cinema.

Episodic Synopsis – Day 48, 49 & 50

Good Vs. Evil?!

Post Vrajesh’s exit, Urvashi and Mink are seen missing Vrajesh. Urvashi tells Mink that for the first time she feels there is a vacuum in the house post an exit.

In the Padosi house, Imam is seen telling Santosh that his image has been tarnished outside. Santosh asks him to let bygones be bygones and that he should look at reworking his image now since he is back. Imam tells Santosh that he has never spoken bad about Aashka outside to which Santosh replies saying Aashka holds the same feelings for him and does not talk bad about him at all. Santosh tells Imam, that given this chance again, Imam should now aim at walking out with dignity and the two hug each other. Imam continues discussing this with Nirahua in the evening when Nirahua tells him that he should instead keep a check on himself before blaming other for tarnishing his image and that now he should forget things and move on.

As the day passes, eviction nominations take place in the modern house. Post the nominations, Sana feels that Karishma has not been playing fair and breaks down in front of Sapna and Delnaz.

In the rural house, Aashka and Santosh are seen talking in the house when Aashka explains it to Santosh that she is not bothered about anyone in the house and that no one in the house needs to fill her in. She adds that at present, she is not at all concentrating on the game; instead she has other things on the mind.

The modern house contestants are assigned a luxury budget task of ‘Angels and Demons’, where the Vishal, Karishma, Delnaz and Rajev are Angels and Sapna, Sana, Urvashi, Niketan and Mink are Demons. The two teams are assigned tasks basis their characteristics.

Later in the padosi house, Imam is seen forcing Jyoti to sing along with him when Jyoti refuses. Seeing Jyoti’s retaliation, Aashka asks Imam to back off and he replies that she is no one to comment when he is conversing with someone else. The two end up having a heated argument. Santosh and Nirahua calm Aashka down. Post this, Vrajesh, Nirahua and Santosh say that Imam is a task given to them by Bigg Boss. Vrajesh says that Imam’s hyperactivity is not his playful nature; instead it is clearly a sign of having a disturbed mind.

As a part of the task, Niketan spills water on Vishal and Vishal gets irritated with the Demons which upsets Sana. She has been thinking that Vishal’s attitude towards her has changed. Delnaz tries explaining that it is not her fault that Vishal is upset and explains how he has nothing personal against her.

After the lights are out in the padosi house, Aashka, Santosh, Nirahua and Vrajesh are seen sitting and discussing Imam. Santosh tells Aashka that she should stay away from Imam and not involve herself with him else Santosh will lose his control. Aashka says that when a man has power, he should utilize it at the right time and to his benefit.

As the day ends in the modern house, all the Angels are seen coming together and praying for the betterment of the house.

To know more don’t miss Bigg Boss 6, tonight at 9PM only on COLORS.

Confused? Here we are not referring to Lord Rama as Shree Ram rather it is the unique voice of Singer Sreeram Chandra which has added dazzles to the item song Balma of Khiladi Kumar’s upcoming film Khiladi 786. The song went viral after its release on digital media and by now has become a major hit.

Overwhelmed by the audience response the Indian Idol winner says, “Within an hour of the song’s release I started receiving calls from my friends, relatives and fans from across the globe. I am very thankful to Himesh Reshamiya to have given me this opportunity.” Sreeram who made a debut in Hindi playback singing with song “Isq Risk” for the film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan says Balma happened to him by chance when he had met Himesh for a show. “After listening to my voice in that show Himesh not just complimented me but committed to me that he would get back to me with a song and that’s how Balma happened.”

Singing a song with Shreya on the compositions of Himesh and for Akshay Kumar is like hitting a jackpot. “Indeed, it is a great feeling and singing for Akshay makes the song all the more special to me!”

Sreeram who is now working on a few more songs has a long way to go not just in the music industry but also in acting as the singer has started with shoot of his second Telugu film. His first film will release soon.
