Kolkata Blames It On Yashraj for charity!

~ Ashvin Gidwani Productions’ play to be staged in association with Inspirago Infinity ~

Mumbai, September 15, 2014: Kolkata’s GD Birla Sabhaghar is all set to host two shows of Ashvin Gidwani Productions’ (AGP) celebrated play ‘Blame It On Yashraj’ this Sunday on September 21, 2014. With two shows between 4pm to 6pm and 7pm to 9pm, the play is set to unleash a laughter riot across Kolkata this weekend.

Inspirago Infinity is an event production and wedding management company that has tied up with AGP to stage the wedding-based comedy in Kolkata. The company aims to “do different things and do things differently.” Proceedings from the show will be given in aid of Oncolink India, a cancer charitable organization working towards providing cancer treatment for the underprivileged.

Trisha Dube, founder and CEO of Inspirago Infinity, says, “Inspirago Infinity is making efforts to bring unique shows to the city. Everybody loves comedy, and those who are married know how chaotic weddings can be. This play is about that and what every family faces. It is guaranteed entertainment and promises a good time.”  Ashvin Gidwani of AGP adds, “It is pretty exciting to have a show in India’s fourth Metro city. I hope the viewers here enjoy it as much as the Mumbaikars have!”

In a time when the world is turning increasingly materialistic by the day, donating to charity has become a rarity. Getting artists to perform for charity serves as significant motivation for the people, while also being a sign of humility on the part of the artists. With that said, AGP’s noble venture in association with Inspirago Infinity is likely to go a long way!

The Plot: ‘Blame it on Yashraj’ is a hilarious story of a Punjabi/Bengali family caught up in the whirlwind of a wedding getting bigger and bigger by the day, when their darling daughter decides to marry a Muslim boy. It’s two hours of poking fun at our prejudices, our peculiar behaviour in planning a wedding, the invitee lists, the menu, the décor and the constant awareness that you have finally to bow down before the almighty …… Bollywood.

Cast: Ananth Mahadevan, Jayati Bhatia, Anchal Sabharwal, Punit Tejwani, Smita Hai, Gaurav Sharma, Palash Dutta & Neel Gagdan.
